I’ve had a sb95 a couple of years now & can’t really fault it.I’m just a tad under 6ft & the medium size seemed to fit best with a laycock post for the riding I do. Cracking bike: Good uphill, even better down & a belter on technical stuff with the added traction from the switch technology lol 🙂

One of my dogs had a heart attack in May, whilst walking her in the morning before work. I gave her CPR at the roadside with her kennel mate next to me, but to no avail.
I was a lot more upset after that, than my own fathers death, so I think it is normal because you spend much more time with your faithful four legged friend.
Also had to take the cat to be put down 3 weeks ago, but she was nearly 25 years old so had a good long life so found it wasn’t as bad with being less traumatic.
Still missing them both though 🙁

Yeah really sad to hear about this on Monday. Met him years ago when Hope first started, when I was an apprentice.
Sad loss once again to depression, R.I.P. Simon.
Deepest condolences to his family, friends & work colleagues.

Watchable but only just, way to drawn out. Like tarrantino films usually, but found this towards the bottom of end of his work pile, to be honest.
Got “Rush” lined up for tonight’s viewing, a couple of years old, but I’ve never seen it & that looks good 🙂

Me too, had the non shifting blighter since the 21st & it’s firmly settled on my chest but as langylad stated, corpious amounts of single malt seems to be easing the symptoms 😉

a workmate was given the same bike in black a couple of years ago & he still uses it in summer for the odd trip to work & for a twice a year trip to the Isle of Man for the TT ! Think it’s 1999 model by the way 😉

25 years ago a lad at my school was killed by an air rifle after being shot in the mouth which then penetrated his brain ! This definitely needs following up & they most certainly can be charged with firearms offences ! After all I remember a few summers ago, when a group of lads were driving around with supersoaker water pistols & firing water at passers by. The police took this very serious eventhough they were just having a laugh & a very slim chance of anyone getting injured !

Got two American akitas & they love running but have to keep them on a lead coz they will kill & eat anything small ! All Spitz breeds tend to have this wolf like instinct / trait so should never be let off the lead unfortunately !
Had a jack Russell x poodle as a kid & it run all day so I’d say get a terrier, loads of energy with a great personality 😉

06 stumpy sworks & C456 for me ! Hated them both, no matter how much I tried didifferent setups, I just couldn’t get them to feel right for me, hence the quick exit out of the man cave 😉

they work fine until the bloody thing gets covered in mud & then the thing plays up, becoming tempermental ! even when cleaned after every ride with a toothbrush to remove the mud/grit it still would switch itself on & drain the battery ! i had three of these which after a few weeks riding, all suffered the same problem, so ended up IN THE BIN !

My two bike guarding American akitas are the best deterrent & if they fail, which I very much doubt, my aim won’t 😉 sorry to here he’s been targeted again but surely you would have upped on the bike security after so many strikes 😮

send them to my house at the burnley end of the valley, my bike guarding akitas will surely kill the theiving scum 🙂
Don’t mean to stereotype, but i don’t suppose it was the white van bridage which target victims from Lee Quarry, by following them home ?No worries, I keep my eyes peeled too, when out & about !

RUSTY SPANNER IS THAT BEZ FROM THE HAPPY MONDAYS 😆

I live on the outskirts of burnley towards Widdop /hardcastle crags with countless bridleways & singletrack on my doorstep 🙂
Always worth a look around the outskirts of the borough in Harlesyke/Haggate, worsthorne, clivinger or even hurstwood, if you’ve got a few hundred grand to spend 🙂

disk brake version with clickbox & the hub isn’t hot, just normal operating temperature when the blighter gives me some grief 🙂

cheers will try that & speak to SJS on monday. Just seem strange why it does work & becomes intermitant after an hour of riding but i suppose these things are sent to try us 🙂
i totally understand how the rohloff hub works & how to service,set-up etc but just can’t get to the bottom of this problem & have to agree that it will probably have to go back to germany to solve it 🙁
i was just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem with their rohloff ?

    sutty
    Free Member

cheers all, but i’m still confused lol ! it shifts fine for about an hour of riding & engages in all gears ! it just seems to be when the hub gets warmed up, hence that’s why i thought it needed a clean & oil change. i’ve done that but it’s still the same. it just seems strange to me that it works fine for about an hour & then starts playing up & not engaging in the first six gears but works fine from seven to fourteen !
    anybody any ideas ?

look around you, everyone is lit up like christmas trees or UFO’s in some cases ! i’m personally more of a UFO but always better to be seen, this time of year & if you want to join into the festive spirit or to make a few motorists feel like they are about to be abducted by aliens, just for the fun of it, so be it….. 😀
look around when you riding around your local singletrack & all the others shining bright, doing the same on the hills around you, it feels good, so many enjoy your passion & that’s riding at night !!!!!

YGM bud 🙂 ! still can’t believe that no ones mentioned how good the early meta 5.5 frames were from 2006 / 2007 ! far better geometry than the later frames & joint winner for trail bike of the year with the orange 5 in 2007 😀
Still see plenty of them out on the trails which proves they were built to last & still a popular choice for fun fuelled trail days out which will have you grinning from ear to ear 😀

I have two american akitas simply just too protect all my bikes 😀 ! not really but they do help & just because they love their walks over the local moorland. previously i’ve anyways had terriers & welsh terriers or their larger cousins airedale terriers make cracking family dogs ! i know a local one called Alfie, the electrian where i used to work had one & even at the villa in spain their a airedale “bandana clad” terrier owned by a german couple & they all catch my eye & heart lol ! i’ve always loved my jack russells, welshes & patadales & you can’t beat the characters of them terriers ! just keep away from the westies & the yorkshire terriers since they think they can take on my two akitas which just look on at them in dis-belief 😆

always better to ride around this area in the evenings, you will come across way to many walkers at the weekend 🙄 i too walk the dogs & ride alot around heptonstall, pecketwell, hebdon bridge, todmorden, widdop, hardcastlecrags, whitehill but most of the best riding i have to admit are footpaths, so i always ride on these on weekdays after work ! the mary townley loop is literaly on my doorstep so theres always some good riding whichever direction i go in 😀

mudmonster ! ROTWILD still going strong m8 & make some cracking bikes but just seem to be more popular in germany & in the states ! i’m also a big fan of nicolai & storck, it’s just my finances which prevent me from owning a new storck ! if only i had 10k spare for my dream build 😆 !
