I didn’t like my Motolite either.

Here’s mine. Just built up by the bike shop. Some bits are off an old bike, the frame and other bits are new. Looking forward to taking it to Wales at the weekend.

Got bitten 6 times through my shorts on one ride. Even going down hill they got me. Evil things.

It was on Dave on Sunday, don’t know if it’s going to be repeated.

I dont think it was the self same stage as any other year, but it would be interesting to know times of start of climb to end of climb for comparison.

Ten Dam is on Strava, his time for the segment Bedoin to Summit was 1hr 1min (13.2 mph). Froome finished 1 min 53 ahead.

There were motorbikes in Cademan the other week, I hope that’s not going to be a regular thing.

I think the powder we’ve got is Nippon too. In the spring we start to see a few coming in to scout the place out, as soon as they start doing this we put some along the back of the house. This seems to stop them coming in. We’ve not put any on their nest as we don’t want to kill them, just stop them coming in the house.

We’ve been riding up Bardon Hill for 20 years and only ever had one confrontation (just a miserable old women saying you shouldn’t be up here). Most of the stuff around Coalville is cheeky (Holly Hayes wood, Cademan wood, the quarry etc.

There are legitimate trails around the Beacon and Swithland, but they’re not that exciting. Find Moat Road in Loughborough and follow the bridleway up to the beacon.

There is also Martinshaw woods near Ratby, Ticknall in South Derbyshire and Hicks Lodge near Ashby. It would be a long ride out to Ticknall from Loughborough including a loop around the bridleways, so if that’s too far, you could always drive to Hicks Lodge, do the loop there and then ride out to Ticknall.

I’ve had 2 steriod injections in my foot. The first one, I was fine. The second one was a struggle even to get around the house.

Vicky, I have struggled with sleep all my life, I never sleep right through until morning, but never had nights where I’ve had no sleep at all. I drink decaf, other than the odd Costa, which i’ve been avoiding. I am a bit of a worrier though.

I was hoping they’d give me some sleeping tabs when I rang yesterday. I’ll probably give the walk in centre a miss and ring the doc Monday if no better.

I’ve just been speaking to a colleague on Facebook. She suffered all through her pregnancy from the 13th week and she’s still here, so that’s reassuring.

I’ll try a bike ride, see if that helps.

Got rid of my 06 1.2 Jazz last year, around 55,000 miles on the clock. It was great for carrying bikes and very economical, but a bit slow and made overtaking a bit of a pain. I’m not sure if we got a bad one as had to have some rust sorted under the 3 year warranty, then got another patch of it outside of the warranty. Had problems with the door locks, key not going in, not turning etc, then last year the key wouldn’t go in the ignition. Got quoted nearly £1k to have ignition locks and door locks replaced. Local garage took some tumblers out of the ignition lock to save having to buy a new one and we traded it in 2 or 3 months later.

I never got wine at the hospital :( Although having Campylobacter, I don’t think I would’ve wanted it.

Thanks for the replies. I did suspect the warranty wouldn’t cover them, but thought I’d see what people thought before I give the bike shop a ring. Only had 13 months use, they’re Hope (so not cheap) and I’m not a hard user, I wouldn’t expect to be replacing them for a couple of years.

I did think about getting the replacement frame and selling it, but thought I’d lose too much from it. The seller wouldn’t get a warranty as it’s 2nd hand and i’ve not sold that much on ebay, so not much feedback, so didn’t think I’d get what it’s worth.

Hora, when I ordered the frame, I could have waited and had the new design, but I decided that wasn’t what I wanted (didn’t want a pressfit bottom bracket). Also, I’d seen the frame I bought in the shop (white built up with red parts) and decided that’s what I wanted (I’m a girl, colour is important).

    Mikkel, that’s fantastic service.

I’ll call the bike shop and see what they say.

The X Files, but my devotion to it meant I got to go to the film premier of the 2nd movie :)

Cougar, I think most fans think John Doggett and Monica Reyes were the worst things to happen to the X Files, along with Super Soldiers. There are some that think it was only good when it was filmed in Vancouver (seasons 1-5). Personally, I loved season 6, but I quite liked the more light hearted episodes. They seemed to be running out of ideas by season 7 though. I didn’t dislike Doggett and Reyes, but with the exception of the odd episode, I hated seasons 8 and 9.

Agree with everyone else about Lost.

I think mine was 5-6 weeks before I was back on the bike. Unfortunately I had a holiday in Morzine booked for 3 weeks after I broke it, so while everyone was riding bikes, I was walking around with my arm in a sling :(

So in basically the past 13 years of the tour the only two credible/worthy* winners are Cuddles and Wiggo?

    and Sastre.

Sorry, should’ve added that we haven’t got kids, so can’t comment on it from that point of view, but it did seem to be mostly families that were there. There’s no entertainment or amusements on the site, if that is what you are after.

We went here last year after I saw it recommended in a thread on here. Nice site, although the toilet/shower block wasn’t that great. In the hills and a short drive to the beaches (Shell Island/Harlech/Dyffryn/Barmouth). There are plenty of campsites in that area closer to the beach, but haven’t stayed on any since I was a kid.

Definately not worth the drive. We’ve only been once and we live within easy cycling distance. We think it is poorly designed, but it seems good for families.

Thats fine, ignore the sign if you want.

But, if your dog and it is an ‘if’ decides to play tag with a new born lamb don’t expect the farmer to give your dog a further warning before he showers it with red hot lead!

Yeah. They might end up like these two.

Hate it, although mainly because I don’t like getting so cold while cleaning all the crap off the bike after.

The OH can’t eat gluten. It’s usually dessert that’s a bit of a pain when eating out, as the only choice is usually ice cream. It’s also a pain if you just want to pick up a snack from somewhere, most places only have sandwiches. He used to eat the Genius bread, or made his own from the Mrs Crimble mix, but has cut it out altogether now.

If the insurers pay out, insurance goes up and while many of us on here can probably afford to pay more, there are plenty of people in the country that can’t.

From the back of my statement:-

How do I know my Bonds are in the draw?
We don’t store any numbers in ERNIE – he just generates them randomly, so numbers can’t be left out of the draw. We then match Ernie’s random numbers against our records of bond numbers eligible for the draw.

Not sure how anyone could win anything every 2 weeks to a month, as it’s only drawn once a month.

We sold our house to go travelling a few years ago and put the money we got in premium bonds. We would have got more putting it in the bank, but interest rates were better then.

I’ve always thought Evans was probably clean. There’s a few comments about him probably being the only clean winner for years, what about Sastre? I’ve not seen anything about him and doping.

We stayed in their season chalet in 2004 in Morzine. For what we paid we had no complaints about them, I think it was around £500 each half board for a month. The chalet wasn’t that great, the food was reasonable, but not up to the same standard as other companies we have been with on 7 day holidays, but I think we got a bargin.

It was June so the chalet wasn’t full, so they put a large group of guys in the season chalet because they didn’t want them disturbing their other guests. They were not impressed at all. They had paid full price and were expecting a lot more than what they got. I think the meal on their first night was a bit of a disaster, the host was not a qualified chef and I think it was the first time he’d catered for that many people. We were also a bit pee’d off that they thought it was ok for them to disturb us. There were some right ****s in the group and they also stole our food.

They also paid some of the season guests to guide. I’m pretty sure they had no first aid qualifications and one of them had no past experience. We think he was told to tell them he wasn’t a guide, but that he could show them some trails, but I think the guests had paid for guiding.

They were also late paying their staff and it took a while for them to refund our deposit.

I want a lightweight vest and I’m torn between TNF Thunder vest and the RAB Microlight. With the discount they’re not much different in price and weight is about the same. Without the discount TNF is much more expensive, is this because it’s better quality or because of the name?

How have you made the Spelt bread? Do you have a breadmaker? If so, can’t she have sandwiches made from this? If not, they are a great investment.

I think you register twice, it’s voting twice in the same election that would be a pretty serious crime. I think you can vote in your local elections in Cheshire and Chiswick, but you definately can’t vote twice in a general election.
