My links seem to have gone abit wrong there but you get the jist…

Potdog, the process basicaly shows what TF etc will do to fix your shock. So for the patient and competant it is possible to do yourself.

I might try it. At worst I’ll be sending a box of bits to a tuning company! :)

That didnt take long. Found this:

Which gives instructions on a full rebuild but requires access to nitrogen to refill.

but it gives the option of a DIY schraeder valve to just refill it with air instead.

I’m tempted to try. Could just send the bits in to a tuning company it it goes wrong I suppose! :)

Sounds like the rebound circuit is faulty. Mine is starting to go as well. I think it’s non user servicable so will probably need sending off for service/fix..

I’m about to go on a google mission to see if I’m wrong though as I don’t like paying!!

Why don’t the haters petition to have themselves walking in front of ebikers waving a red flag! That’ll show them :-)

Neil: Yeah my Stoker was a little loose so looks like your correct on your size needs then. Unlucky. Looks like you might have to wait till restock then as I couldnt find a large until I realised I needed the medium.

On the other hand you’ve made a good choice. I’m very impressed with the Super 2r so far. For local riding I just use the top helmet but it came into it’s own at a recent race where I would have the chin bar loose around my neck on the climbs then fastenen it up ready for the timed runs. Feels solid and looks like a normal full face and works well with googles which can be pushed up (the peak moves up) when you dont need them.

Can highly recommend getting drunk then extending the bucket right out, standing in it then getting another drunk person to spin it round. Great fun and surprisingly we didnt get hurt!

Have you tried one on for fit? I’m a large in every helmet I’ve had. Tried a friends large Super 2r and it was a bit loose. Managed to find a normal super in a medium in a shop and it was a much better fit so ordered a medium 2r from discount-de. Perfect fit :)

Could be worth a look about to try one as they are big is what I’m trying to get across as stock of mediums is good.

While were all going kneepad daft I’ll update on my RaceFace Ambush….

Ordered Medium and Large. Large were the better fit and felt about right. Did about 20 mile in them today and I’d say I’am pretty happy with them. Feel solid and secure. They arent a light weight minimalist pad but thats ok as I’ll use them for XC rides and DH and just put up with the extra size on XC rides.

The label on them seems to show you can use them in a washing machine up to a maximum of 30 washes and they are D3O so not sure on earlier post about this.

In the same boat as OP. Fox Launch Pro’s have died on me but have had my money’s worth out of them so can’t complain. Can be hot and occasionaly chafed on longer rides so after reading all the posts here I’ve ordered a couple of sizes in the Race Face Ambush as fancied trying some D3O ones out.

If I’m not happy I’ll just re-order some Launch Pro’s again. Thanks for the input folks :)

esselgruntfuttock: My Dad is from Wingate so had this story from him as well… Read the actual details of the accident a few years ago now. Was very lucky no one was hurt. I bet they still talk about it in the village now.

Not exactly sure but think the evo 2 had larger seat tube for dropper posts.

If your gentle with it and take your time they are usually not that hard to get into to have a look yourself. If your lucky there could just be some crud jamming the button itself, if not the microswitch could be worn out in which case a repair of some sort is needed.

Internet usually has instructions somewhere of how to get into them and there could even be a fix already written about and parts available. I’ve recently revived my tablet with a new battery from ebay and from looking several parts were available for other issues if needed.

I’m one for never putting anything but water in my camelbak. so just take a small water bottle with the electrolyte thing in as well and have a sip every now and then.

I stripped down a Buddy Bike a few weeks back at the 2nd hand charity bike shop I help out at. It was donated by someone. Looks lethal but I bet it’s a laugh to ride, until your both hurt! I’ll show them this link as we didn’t think it was potentially worth this much :-)

I’m with Houndlegs on this one. It’s just a bike chain.

Pound shop chain oil…. Bike gets washed and re-oiled after every ride.. Does the job.

I’ve had my Specialized Pitch nearly 5 years now and have so far held off the past 10 months getting something else. I’ve just been treating it to a few new bits and bobs instead to stop myself. Gona try and last another year or until it dies. Glad I’m not as indulgent as some of you. I’d be bankrupt :)

To be honest everything I look at replacing it with is of a very similar design since the Horst patent ran out so dont see the point (4 bar, vertical shock infront of seat tube). The Pitch was ahead of it’s time so it still rocks……

Once the sealants in and it’s pumped up. I hold the wheel horizontally and kinda shake it about a bit. Put on the floor and spin and repeat. Usually gets the sealant around the rim.

Sorry but I can’t really say. My knee problem seems to be tendon related rather than cartilidge or bone like yours but it made me realise my ignorance towards joint care. I decided to start taking the supplement purely to help prevent future problems (I hope!) My point was just get it down you, at the very least you’ll have a healthy brain and nice hair from the cod liver oil!

This is what I’ve been using and you seem to get two bottles for the price.

Maybe someone will come along and recommend something better.

I’m having my first experiences of knee pain and have been taking some cod liver oil tablets with added glucosamine from holland and barrret for awhile now. It’s a supposed recommended joint care product so I thought there’s no harm taking it anyway as it’s not expensive. It’ll not do you any harm so I’d say get yourself some.

I’m liking the look of the numbers on the Bird Aeris including the direct sales price… Gona wait for a test ride and see how the first batches holdup before I commit though.

Hill could be on the bench, decides tomorrow if a shoulder injury can hold up. Shame if he’s not on form. Could of been a contender for a top spot.

Bring on the rain as well. That’ll be an interesting watch.

Read up on push/counter steering. Can’t really remember being taught this when learning which lead to some interesting(read as dangerous) moments corning.

Second call for knee pads. You’ll be crippled the next day without them. I learnt this the hard way so you don’t have to :)

Was slowly riding through a village on my motor bike and 100 yards up the road a kid goes flying over the handle bars in the road. I pulled up and helped him up and got him clear of the road. Noticed his forks were on backwards and the brake had jammed on hence the OTB.. His mother then comes out of a nearby house and thinks I’ve ran him over!!! Soon calmed her down though and explained what happened and why. She said it came like that from halfords!

Hopefully the electronics skip at the tip eventually makes it to someone who recycles the plastics and recovers the precious metals from the circuit boards. Ask while your there. The tip rats might know :)

Cant say I’ve had the problems with the fit damper and oil leaking you’ve had (2010 36 Float FIT RC2) but in an effort to get that extra bit of travel out of them that they rarely use I followed some instructions I saw somewhere about lowering the air side piston by taking about 5/10mm off it to effectively increase the size of the air chamber. Removed the piston head, used a small pipe cutter to take a bit off the tube, re-drilled it then re attached the head. Rebuild and test..

    Sod all difference!!

To be fair though I did notice I’d used that travel after going off a drop that was bigger than I thought, so it is there for emergency purposes only though :)

I like your bodge though. No reason it wont work as long as the seals hold on the reduced piston head. Job well done.

Not sure of canyon’s design for these but specialised have a metal lip between the bearings meaning they need to be pulled out from either side and will not both pull out in one direction. You can’t see the lip when the bearings are in and a small washer inbetween makes it look like the bearings are back to back.

I’d say pull out from each side with bearing puller if you’ve got one just to be sure. :)

I’ve been using the specific toilet wipes for quite a while now. They were a revalation for me being cursed with a hairy arse and probably not the best diet! I could be there hours clearing up the mess my arse explosions made before I started using them….

They do say they are biodegradable and flushable and a check on the andrex website confirms this as well but they recommend only flushing one or two at a time.

I’m happy to continue using them until told not to or I’ll have to go back to mass deforestation use of normal paper!

While were on this shitty subject I occasionaly get the pleasure of a teflon poo where it doesnt leave a trace :) How does this magic occur? Is there something I should eat more often that contains this natural teflon?

You’re mentioned the 2.2 diesel. I’m sure the type r is more fun but I had the 5 door diesel as a company car and I loved it. It’s by no means slow and the space inside those things are amazing. They are like the tardis..

Even with a heavy foot most of the time it wouldn’t seem to go below 43mpg, I’ll definitely be considering one again although I’m no fan of the face lifted models. They just seem to have grown pointless plastic bits front and back.
