This has always worked for me. Got mine in sainsbury years ago. About 5 or 6 quid.

Look on mtb. I think there could be a back order problem with nite fighters. I could be wrong though. .

I’ve recently had e cig stuff delivered from them though. Took a few weeks but all was good. .

Well yesterday hamsterley did it’s usual. Drove round the corner at the top of the valley to be met with glorious sunshine ? it was gorgeous up there.

most of the time you can count on the weather up there being the opposite of what it is further east.

I’d say go for it. You may get lucky again

Any update has the potential to ruin a device. If your happy with how it works leave it as is. If you want new features and potential improvements take the risk and upgrade it.

All devices like these have a lifespan as newer software wants to run on the latest hardware. They can keep going but they won’t be as fast and responsive as they one were. No problem if you don’t mind waiting a bit longer. I’m still using my few year old Asus tablet but I loaded cyanogenmod on it to extend its life but it’s still a bit sluggish compared to my much newer phone hence why I’m keeping my eyes open for a new tablet as well.

Personally I’d be looking for a tablet with the latest version of the OS already installed as theoretically the hardware has been selected to run it and your then going to get an update our two before they stop supporting it.

Give him a break. Try to be helpful.

The charger damper is faulty. You changed the air spring to adjust the travel it doesn’t have any function as a damper.

A bleed of the charger damper might fix this but if lsc is sticking it probably needs a rebuild. Seen as though they are still new put the original air spring back in and try a warranty fix or pay for a tuning company to fix them.

Had 49 in my head from last year for some reason. Cheers for the correction.

So the extra tenner is for the practice compared to no practice for the sport.

Still not impressed to be honest. Doesn’t justify price increase over last year.

I’m seeing the opportunity for more to ride the full course but I’m also seeing filthy capatilism at work.

    Ermm some odd reply’s here.

I’m local. Ride all year there.

The offical graded stuff is hard pack gravel based. You’ll get covered in brown water but it’ll all be rideable.

the sneaky stuff will be wet and slippy. You’ll get caked in muck but it’ll be fun. I’ll be chucking the spikes on soon and be riding these all winter.

the DH stuff is all well dug and well used. You’ll get wet and muddy but oddly it’s always busier when the weather’s crap .

    Enjoy ?

Really easy. Follow the instructions for a lower leg service and swap out the air spring shaft during the process. You use a couple of bits from the old shaft on the new but it might even tell you this in the instructions if I’m remembering correctly. Only added expense is the odd spec oil the pikes use.

A friend has the one pictured in OP’s post. Rubbish and is probably dimmer than the probably decent solar storm he has as well.

    Don’t bother with it.

I’ve been looking for something new and found this page listing what’s due out soon.

nothings standing out for me at present so may hold on as quite a few are due for release in the run up to Christmas

As fox have always been on the expensive side my guess is they’ll use the marazocchi name and some designs as there budget option and high volume OEM stuff.

Ah yeah. Good point on offset effect. I may be wrong then, but I’ve just read something that says if you got an already slack HA(which the Sherpa has) increasing fork offset can then increase the problem your trying to fix so I may be correct as well. My pikes seem to measure 46mm offset though if I’m measuring correctly.
    http://blog.artscyclery.com/ask-a-mechanic/ask-a-mechanic-29er-forks-46mm-or-51mm-offset/

as I said though I love how mine handles. The slight wandering I get on steep climbs is probably down to my short stem (40mm)

Maybe contact Stanton to see what they recommend.

I’m sure mine are the 46mm offset. Remember reading something about the 51mm making the steering to lazy, as in has the same effect as slackening the HA..

A guy on MTBR Forum sells machined Aluminium ones with cooling fins on and posts to the UK I believe. Nearly bought one myself but then couldnt be arsed!!

I’m running Pikes dropped to 120mm on my Sherpa and the thing is a pure weapon :)

I’m 6ft2 and about 14.5st so not far off you. Cant say I’ve ever thought it felt to high. I suppose it can wander a little bit on steeper climbs but I dont care as it descends so well. My first 29er and I’m sold on it’s performance.

If you lie your climbing more than descending go for something with 100mm if not get the pikes or similair 120mm forks.

Pikes were the slightly expensive option but I wanted the stiffer chassis they offer. You’ll have to buy the 120mm air spring assembly and swap out the 140mm they come with. Easy job though.

Good choice on the Sherpa though. Brilliant bike….

I reckon poor old Hanns the cleaner at the VW factory will end up getting the blame for this.

Dalesjoe… I watch those videos and think it would be great fun! Can I assume from your experience the novelty quickly wears off? Does everyone get ill when it’s that bad? I’d assumed hardened sea dogs wouldn’t hurl?

Extremely low flying tornado over hamsterley today heading south.

I’m off to get my bug out kit, crossbow and camp kit and wait it out in the woods

Could be worth giving bike scene a call. They often have US only stuff advertised. I think they get access to stuff not usually sold over here as they shift a lot of stuff for specialized.

Got a trailhead mcleod from a friend. Nice bit of kit but I would of made it physically smaller and thicker steel. Prongs seem to bend to easy if you hit rock.

Can’t beat a Chillington hoe for most value for money though. For me it works as a hoe, obviously, a shovel and mattock if you keep the edge sharp.

I suppose your local ground conditions will ultimately dictate what works fit you though.

+1 for the hamsterley love …….

Just to show what a nice place hamsterley is towards visiting bikers I’m going to start going round everyone’s cars and making minor repairs to paint and body work ?

Nahh actually f*** that but I’ll wave and smile at the least. ..

I’d disagree to be honest. The bike shop has been hit a few times over the years but it’s an easy target. OP’s bad luck is the first vehicle damage I’ve heard of in years. It happens yeah but considering the amount of cars left unattended for hours on end it’s pretty rare.

    That’s shit. Unlucky man. .

I Rode past 4 very dodgy looking lads in a silver VW bora or passat parked up at the top of the hill at the other entrance that leads down to the Grove. Granted not near where this happened to you but they looked very out of place and caught my attention. Do the forestry have cctv covering the comings and goings at the visitors centre? I’d stick a quid on the VW driving past at some point.

I didn’t get reg or a description of lads. Just judged a book by its cover!

Seems enough detail to possibly be genuine but they were pretty awful bikes. BB and back end very flexi on the one I had. Spend your money on a better quality hardtail if your after a cheap bike I’d say.

Give your community Bobby a ring. They may have kits left over/spare or just not be advertising it to well.

    Worth a try.

I picked up the bike register kits from my local police station for £10 each. Check to see if they do the same in your area.

You get microdot solution, and uv paint stuff then register it in the website with a pic and description.

Another option is to do a couple of easy rides on the new wheels then adjust them if needed.

For a budget version a caravan pump, some hose, a large container and dodgy wiring can be done for about £30. Very impressed with a friends attempt.

Use a tap and thread into the bush(found this method somewhere on Internet). It then pulls or knocks out. Insert new bushes with some threaded bar and washers.(I tried pushing/tapping them in but they damage easily)….

Some other company sells a kit to do theirs this method so it’s kosher. I just got the bits I needed from a local hardware shop.

I run a few fit damped forks. You don’t necessarily need to fully strip the damper to refresh the oil and a strap wrench is all you need really. To get into it and refresh the oil. Try this first before sending them off. As above the instructions are on the fox site. ?

Just as a comparison I moved from my old t-mobile contract to a EE sim only for the 4G. I’m paying about 12 quid for 300 min, unlimited txts and 500mb data. Seems poor compared to the three option above but I went for the better coverage ee has round my way and my data usage is mainly through wifi so not a big issue for me.

Ha. I used to have a company car and thrashed the life out of it! Put it through some poor woman’s front wall (it got repaired. Car and wall ) scratches here and there and messed the interior up with a dog and bikes. Cheaply fixed stuff before it went back. Feel sorry for whoever got it eventuality.

Sounds like I’m not alone in my lack of respect.?

I’ll be wary when i need to be buying my own again.

This looks the same but I’m not paying twenty quid for one! http://www.mountainbikecomponents.co.uk/hanger-1

let the hunt begin as I need a spare as well ?
