I followed this when I did mine. Worked Ok but did have to bleed eventually to get them spot on again.

Not heard that name for awhile. Had it as a youth due to growth spurts and a love for basket ball. Remember at its worst I had to crawl up the stairs sometimes!!!

Eventually sorted itself out as growth slowed and it had chance to heal.

Is your lad tall and still growing?

To many ” don’t need one” replies so I’ll chip in with the opposite!

I spent a massive £9.99 for the on one BB mounted guide. Was occasionally dropping chain when hitting fast rocky sections and jumps so according to the link at the top I’m riding hard enough 8) this is on my hardtail and to be fair I don’t play gently with it. ..

Could be more to do with saddle position? I jump between bikes with different crank lengths and can’t tell the difference.

If it’s a new bike it’ll take a few goes to get saddle, bar and stem height correct anyway I would of thought.

Nice idea. Always a ball ache dragging tools to remote trails. Can’t help thinking it won’t work quite as well as intended though. Digging tools are heavy and solid for a reason.

South coast is good. I get spare parts off him for mine and as mentioned the individual bits are cheap.

Don’t worry about the guide pins coming out. To give it a good clean they have to. A bit of grease holds them in place when you put it back together anyway.

I got about 4 years out of my i900 (old name for dropzone) doing the self service and cartridge rebuild that’s described on mtbr. Never used new orings, just stripped, cleaned refreshed oil then re-pressurised. Getting the air back in is a faff and takes a few goes to get it right but it does work.

It eventually wouldn’t hold pressure(probably due to worn orings) so southcoast replaced the cartridge, one way bearing, guide pins, seal and even put a remote capable head on it for about £100. Quick turn around and a nice guy to chat to. Gave me back a new post basically ?

Your real bikes are disgusted at your betrayal and have committed suicide.

A bike is for life. Not just for Christmas!

Been using this as it was cheap oil

but I’d guess it’s the same as wilkos just in a different bottle and a quid more. I’ll be stocking up at wilkos next time I’m passing though ?

I used to love filing my old van with those huge cans of veg that tescos used to sell but at some point veg started costing just as much as diesel.

As has been mentioned modern injected diesel engines don’t like it as much as without heated fuel lines and blending it can clog the injectors.

Loads of info about it out there but I can’t imagine it’s even worth bothering with at the moment with diesel prices being so low.

Mine are simple hopes for this year. What ever happens on track happens, fingers crossed it’s good racing but please swap commentators on ITV. If I have to listen them every race say “every race is a home race for rossi” and “once lorenzo gets going he’s as consistent as a metronome” I’ll punch the TV!!!!

bring back the guys they had a year or two ago. Please?

Not sure if this is useful but I had a custom made bike nicked once. Insurance wanted me to pick one from wheelies or whoever they are but I stood my ground and insisted on a replacement. They gave in and eventually provided me with two cheques. One made out to the frame builder and one to my LBS for the parts.

Stand your ground and hopefully they’ll play it your way.

No idea but going off what I see in the news, breathing apparatus of some sort would extend your life!

Stick a crud catcher on the downtube as well. They work perfect for me on all wheel sizes.

I’ve recently got the mudhugger FR (for my 29er) but had to get the extension as well so I could remove the crud catcher. Without the extension it’s just a bigger expensive plastic fender thing. Felt a bit ripped off but ho hum.

Each to their own i guess. I find a higher front end is better for descending and my back wouldn’t appreciate it being low.

You just go with what feels right and I’ve always ended up lifting the front one way or another.

Buy a mud hugger then realise it doesn’t actually keep mud out of your face until you then buy the extension.

I see what you did there Mudhugger. You devious little capitalists

Tall people are available. .. I always have to raise the front end on bikes.

I’m liking the look of these bars so will watch this space. ..

Well done you. Quite satisfying isn’t it?

Next comes the week or two of fiddling to get it feeling and running correctly ?

Durham police did free UV postcode marking or for £10 you cod have a a BikeRegister kit which is usually £20. At the least get the free one and check if they do the kits.

To be fair I got that frustrated with it has been a long time since I’ve ran rear tubeless on the big bike. I was never a low pressure guy so maybe I could try again with an extra wrap of rim tape.

Although nothing fixes the blasted holes right next to the bead which forces you back to tubes til the tyre wears out! As you can probably tell I’m jaded with tubeless unfortunately. Ok on the front but even on the trail bike I’ve had constant disasters out back.

Personally I’ve always had disasters with rear tubeless on bikes. Hit corners hard enough and rear always pulls off. Especially on the DH bike.

Good luck but be prepared to regain a bit of that weight if you go back to a tube in the back.

    Keep safe though folks.

No one to call for help if you come a cropper. I just do steady XC mileage when I’m on my tod now and save the lairy riding for when I’m with friends.

Was a few accidents last year I read about that made me realise I was asking for trouble riding sneaky stuff at full pelt in my own.

I’ve found bell helmets to be larger then fox. Had large flux so bought a large bell something or other when they were cheap at Halfords. It’s massive so when I bought a super 2r I got a medium. Prefect fit.

all our heeds are different though so try if you can or be prepared to send it back.

Did you not think to say “excuse me” on the way up to them before getting angry?

A group of friends having a nice day out enjoying themselves are bound to be oblivious to what’s going on outside the group.

We’ve probably all done it but at least you’ve felt the shame :-)

Shocks can have sealed compressed gas(nitrogen) in them which royal mail now aren’t keen on. Forks don’t. If your sending air forks just let the pressure out.

Turns out I know less than I thought about the pitch. Forgot about its enduro bloodline.

anyway doesn’t matter was and still is a good bike.

The original SX Trail would probably of been heavier as it was more of a free ride bike I think. Had one of them as well. I credit it for finally teaching me how to rail corners properly! Was a beast but not an all day pedal bike. Used mine as a mini dh bike really. I suppose a blend of the pitch and SX are now enduro bikes of today. Light enough to pedal up but with the geometry and travel to have fun in the way down.

Yeah as ahwiles said it turned out to be to good. Such a capable bike for cheap money. One of the early slack bikes that we’ve all got now. They dropped it and gave the stump jumper the same geometry and called it the evo and charged you more!

Mines still going after 6 years of solid abuse! Granted the frame is the only original part of the full bike as the spec was a bit poor to start with.

I’d say it was possible if your a big guy on a cheap steel frame. I had a dmr that would auto brake for me when cornering hard. Frame flexed enough to drag the disc.

Haven’t had issues on better quality frames though.

Today I tried a pair of those thin latex workshop gloves under my normal summer bike gloves. Worked surprisingly well. Hands warmer than usually but not sweaty, no feeling of soggy gloves and I then left them on to get changed and pack the bike up without getting my hands dirty.

    I’m a genius!

Man loves his bike. That’s all.

But maybe someone else rode it and he can’t get over it, hence the sale.
