Get the disc mounts faced. Finally solved my squealing issues after trying everything else.

Oh I’d say the websites slowing down had nothing to do with it really. The enduro bike thing was well away by then taking people away from races and Facebook finished of most forums.

I’m a former DH’er who gave up racing and riding before it was the in thing to do

It basically comes down to what P-Jay has said. Little bikes have got so much more capable over the past few years and they are much better suited to the terrain we have over here but here’s a list of why I drifted away.

Races and associated costs of going away for the weekend started getting silly.

Travelling long distances to ride the few tracks worth riding got boring.

Uplift safety restrictions usually meant you didn’t get enough time on the bike compared to the glory days of piling in a cattle wagon and smashing as many runs as you could.

Races seemed to get “more professional” as everyone wanted to be the next thing. Used to be a weekend away getting messed up then riding your bike with a hangover. Most people are in bed for 9 o’clock now.

Getting an SX Trail and realising I could still enjoy DH riding but peddle around aswell. Obviously as mentioned these bikes morphed into what we all ride now.

There’s a few things from someone who lived the DH life for a good few years although I’ve still got hold of my DH bike just incase! :-)

I know everyone will be different but mines up for renewal aswell. Does £255 sound ok for contents cover in a flat with bikes totalling £7000… I’ve only really it to cover the bikes and not sure if that’s good or bad.

You need magic tinfoil as mentioned above. You’ll not believe how good it works.

I’m amazed every time at what it cleans up.

    Cheers.

I think they’ll probably be the dame then as only difference between 2012 and mine is a face lift.

I’ll get a look at the speakers today and go from there.

Nice one. Didn’t expect so many responses.

I should be ok for room behind head unit as I’m looking at the mechless one’s. I.e no cd player.

I’m also thinking about replacing the stock speakers while I’m on. I’ve got two door speakers and dash mounted tweeters. Is this likely to be a simple swap or will some bodying to fit be needed. Anyone done the same.

    Nice one.

External aerial it is then. I’m sure I’ll get the wire in somehow.

Do the Headunit still come with removable front panels? In fact is radio theft still a thing or is that too 90s for today’s youth :-)

You have to have something to spin the motor. In bikes current form that would mean a direct drive so no freewheeling or another motor in the hub.

Not an expert mind you. Just an educated guess.

    Maybe the operation didn’t work?
Maybe it left her in constant pain?
Maybe she walks the dogs to distract herself from it?
Maybe her son’s only outlet is his bike and badminton?

Maybe you don’t know the whole story?

Please don’t be so judgemental it’s poisonous to the soul.

Just held the rocker in one hand and repeatedly and furiously smashed away with the slide hammer :-)

Don’t be scared you’ll need to be rough with if it was like mine.

As I said it’s the getting the new ones back in that’s the problem. Try your best not to let them go in wonky or they’ll score the surface

My bearing puller could do one at a time. Just insert the appropriate sized collet and tighten up just behind the first bearing. The bearings have a slight chamfer on so it’ll grip once tightened up. I just held the link and dropped the slide hammer down rather than using a vice.

It is possible if the bearings are stuck that you’ll pull the middle of the bearing out leaving the outer race in. If that happens just us a bigger collet to remove it. Again, tighten it up enough and it’ll grip.

    Those little bastards!

Bain of my pitch owning life those were!

I never had problems getting them out with a blind bearing puller but getting them back in again was another matter.

I’ve no real advice other than take your time don’t rush be prepared to damage/mark the rocker and bearings to go in wonky. It may help if you have someone else to hold the link for you while you try and tap the bearings back into place as due to its shape it won’t hold in a vice.

    Best of luck :-)

As mentioned a blind bearing puller is the kit for the job. Can be used on frame bearings as well. Good bit of kit to have if your a home mechanic who likes buying tools. :-)

I struggle with mental health problems and have also found CBT a bit ineffective. I can see the logic in it but struggle to make it work for me. You may be the same.

What I am starting to connect with though after being on many course’s is a mindfulness approach and in particular the compassion side of it as it appears I, like many people who suffer, are shockingly hard on myself.

On a recent course I went on it was mentioned “compassion focused therapy” was deleloped for help those who don’t connect with CBT.

Could be worth looking down this avenue. I’m still doing my own research so can’t say it’s a winner yet but it’s giving me some hope.

    Good luck

Correction. First post was from memory. Just checked my Kindle.

It has All/Downloaded at the top left

If it’s on All you should see everything you’ve purchased and downloaded books will have a tick in a circle next to it.

If it’s on Downloaded then obviously you should only see the books that are on the device.

They usually are downloaded to the device when you purchase them. I have to manually remove from device, say it I want to free up some space.

Possible it did a full reset somehow which would wipe it clean. Books will be available on the cloud and have to be re-downloaded.

In the library on the device there is an option to show “on device/downloaded” or cloud. See whats happening there.

Did one(helidrop) in Whistler a few years back. Was a really good experience.

Dropped off high enough that we noticed slightly reduced oxygen levels. Had a good 50/60 minute decent. Nothing overly techy just good riding.

I ain’t no expert but surely it all comes down to how long you could realistically keep paying the massive mortgage if the sale takes longer than you hope?

Yeah they’ll give you the money but can you stand eating out of bins and drinking from puddles.

To be fair you’ve just done a massive ride over rough terrain on a rigid bike. I’d be surprised if it didn’t hurt :-)

It’s taken me awhile to get my longitude comfy but the most important was tubeless and less than 20psi in the front as a few folk have already mentioned.

I also went for mouldable grips( the ones you put in hot water) and the Stooge Moto Bar which is ace……

How do you tell the doctor?

I’d print what you wrote above and take it in with you. Make an appointment asap. It’s the first step and they will direct you from there.

    Good luck.

Report back after you get the strap wrench. It’s the tool for the job. Make sure it’s cleaned of any oily residue so the wrench can grip.
