“due to Mr Kip having really rather major animal allergy. Think Darth Vader with asthma around cats and high shedding dogs.”

Errmmmm are you sure about this?

I’m similar to the above description and although I love dogs I couldn’t live with one. Dog pollen gets everywhere. It’s not the hair but the natural oils on the dogs skin that cause the allergy (think I read that somewhere)
I’d have to take antihistamines daily, have a large supply of inhalers and constantly wash.

Pretty linear looking damping all the way to the axle. I like my fork progressive. I’m out.

That was good though. Wonder how much that guy earns from squashing stuff… He seems to have plenty of subscribers.

You lot need to up your internet shopping skills.

The only UK stockist of these showing on the TOGS site is http://www.comriecroftbikes.co.uk/contact-us/

Contacted them and got the carbon hinged version for £29.95 posted.

Still feel a bit ripped off for what they are really but fancied giving them a go.

You can either get inventive with your bending technique on the stays or make some sort of spacer with a longer bolt to bring the stays away from the caliper.

Mudgaurds, I’ve found, can be a proper pain when they want to be, which is most of the time.

Well spotted tillydog. I couldn’t figure out why he pitched forward so quickly. Looked like he touched the brake but arse stopping the tyre will do the same.

Get well soon Dave but please ride within yours means. Your trying to run before you can walk. :D

Not sure but a friend has it pretty bad. Never stops him riding although knee pads can get a bit sore for him.

Plenty of sun and moisturizer. His clears up a lot when on holiday.

    Good luck

I know my 2015 isn’t exactly the same bike but steezysix makes it sound like the new ones ride the same. Loaded, unloaded, dawdling or giving it some down a bit of single-track. It does it all….

Best bike I’ve ever owned :-)

I’ve got a black segment with orange decals. Pretty much everything on it is black and it’s a good looking bike with the decals standing out.

I’m in a bit of a love hate relationship with it at the moment though. Has never felt “right” for me, so it will be going at some point but then I have days like Sunday just gone where I’ve really enjoyed riding it. Other days I just notice its flaws… Which I’ll admit are personal to me so don’t let that put you off.

Brake fluid is thicker than blood.

    Tell him to do one…..

Or you could do your brother a favour and build him something you know is decent instead of something he goes and buys.

    Another votefor rigid 29er here.

Got it second hand. Best bike I’ve ever had and it only cost me £500.

I commute on it, bridleways, railway lines etc with the odd bit of road. Recently fitted a dropper and it’s fun on more technical stuff. As mentioned you just go a bit slower but I still have fun.

I’ve had a bearing come out of a wheel with the wrong seal put in marking it as a very similar bearing but like yours out by a mm.

Has taught me to measure each bearing before ordering and again on before fitting…..

    Trust no one 8O

Some proper awful folk offering advice on this thread who should of really just pressed the back button and kept their “advice” to themselves.

Kryton, your comment about mtfu and other threads is entirely justified. I’m with you on that.

I’ve no advice on your situation but I feel your pain.

    All the best :-)

Could it have something to do with helping reduce torque demands from the motor meaning a smaller lighter motor can be used?

Just an idea I threw in my thought wok!

Is your outer damaged where it enters the swing arm?

Seems to wear away there on mine but have yet to snap inners because of it.

    I’m a specialized tyre fan….

Butcher/Pergatory Grid for the Summer then it’s straight onto the Storms for winter. It’s a fantastic mud tyre but isn’t keen on overly rocky terrain due to only having control casings. Wish they’d do it in grid but have a hillbilly to try this year

Great tyres and cheap compared to the competition.

You do make it sound like a mental health problem. Health anxiety or something like that.

I don’t think anyone can give you anything definite to do other than seek professional help for the underlying anxiety.

Anxiety is proper horrible once it’s been released from it’s cage though. Genuinely debilitating. Your friend needs to accept their is a problem with it and want to change before progress is made.

Best of luck to you and your friend…

    Here’s an odd one I solved…

Fitted the post but had very poor drop and rise speed and would occasionally not work at all….

Turns out the lever was stopping on my saddle when lifted… Had a spare old lever and chopped the end off and swapped into the new post. Now goes up and down a treat with its stumpy looking hacksawed lever… :-)

Cracking post for £55 though. Fingers crossed it lasts.

I’ve only done 4000 miles in my new to me 2010 kangoo. So can’t comment on long-term reliability.

It’s a nice little van to drive though and doesn’t lack in power like I thought but would. Roomy interior and comfortable seats. Seems to average about 49mpg for me.

I’ve convinced myself it’s going to be a good one as I believe nissan share the same engine and mercedes stick a new front end on and a new interior and call it a citan so I’ll stick with this wishfull thinking until something goes wrong.

    Good luck

I ordered the £55 stem after seeing the above link… As said it’s a bit of a weight and comes without box but instructions.

The head is the usual KS head so saddle angle is adjustable.

Drewd….. Size info is on the KS site. This is for the 2017 eten. Not sure if that’s what these are but here you go http://kssuspension.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/2017-eTEN-Drawing.pdf

Edit…. Just measured the post to the drawing. Same dimensions :-)

Oh yeah. Forgot about the spcealized post. I’d discounted it for me it’s only 125mm drop which I’ve already got…

I don’t think leg length in itself is a good measure of comfort. From what I’ve read it’s femur length. I’m 6’2 on an XL Orange and was hoping I could finally use a normal dropper when I got it……. Nope… Knee pain…. Layback/offset post and I’m fine though.

Bloody annoying as I want all the choice our shorter femur’d brothers have…

Also with a trend of seattubes getting steeper I’m definitely going to have to demo whatever I buy next and there’s another problem. Getting a demo bike in an XL…..

    Tall person problems…..

Users of layback posts aren’t blessed with much choice when it comes to dropper posts. I’m in the same boat.
I use a KS dropzone(been very reliable and has 20mm offset) but am desperate for something with more travel. Only choice seems to the 9point8 post with the optional layback head but is stupidly expensive.

Are you tall by any chance?

    Don’t think the exist.

Are you using a layback post? This is the only effective way of getting further back.

I wonder how mondraker are still in business to be honest. Everyone I know who’s had one has had it either crack and/or needs constant attention as the back end pivots come loose.

I love the look of the bikes but wouldn’t go near them with a barge pole.
