My recently bought Bambino came with both double wall and single wall baskets for those who’ve mentioned it above.

    increasing dislike of my aeropress

Just wondering what the issue is OP? I love my espresso machine but if I was forced to choose just one method to brew coffee, it would be the Aeropress.

Just very underwhelming. I think my grinder is too fine a grind for it maybe (a dualit burr grinder)

Tried loads of different good quality beans but they are all just meh tasting…. Tried some of those same beans made in a proper coffee machine and the difference is night and day.

    @flannol

Sage Bambino is discounted at the moment with a grinder as well.

Not carbon but the Marin DSX range is a good contender.

To be more serious I’m seeing a lot of new bikes now come with centrelock rotors instead of six bolt so there’s obviously some benefit/reason for the manufacturer.

    Your all wrong.

The benefit of centrelock rotors is there is now two disc standards that have to be accounted for meaning more profits for the share holders!

Rotors were the last part on a bike to have just one universal standard that worked fine. This just wasn’t acceptable to the bike industry.

I’m 6’2″ with an XL top fuel..

As mentioned above front ends is low, I’ve got 30mm of spacers and a riser bar to compensate, and I’ve got a 180mm oneup dropper slammed to the collar…. Reach is apparently the same as my sentinel but the top fuel feels smaller.

Great bike though. You’ll love it 👍

Heat is the best for this. I just use a hair dryer up close to the hub. Ring comes straight out every time with the tool/wheel in a vice. No staining or use of massive breaker bars needed…

    It’ll be fine 👍

I’ve a full frame bag but carry water in my hip pack bladder and I’ve got a larger bottle that sits under the downtube to fill up using my water filter when I’m getting close to camp.

I’m yet to do anything too remote or multi day but this works for me.

One person starts faffing then others start joining in with their own faff…

    This is a faffalanche….

I believe the difference is the resin only discs haven’t been heat treated so they’ll probably warp/wear easier than the more expensive heat treated ones.

    Trek Top Fuel

Edit: didn’t read the above before posting!

I’ve got one though and it doesn’t ride heavy. Putting suitable trail tyres on helps that.

    Thanks everyone. Decision made.

There’s a used instinct solar on its way to me 👍

Ok. That’s a good response for a decent watch then.

Back into the solar instinct it is then. Cheers folks

Sorry. My bad. Meant the vivofit as the basic watch instead of the vivoactive

    survivor
    Full Member

    Hmmmmmmm. Choices choices…

So after the first few response I got to thinking a vivoctive and a chest strap might be the best option for me then. Vivoactive for most of the time, chest strap for riding…

Then the last couple of posts flip me back to an instinct 😂

    I’ll get there eventually!

Not Hexham specifically but the Beamish Oddsox are an option.

I’m gonna be the voice of reason here and say you don’t need pliers you’ve just over tightened your valve.

When installing it push down on the valve in the rim bed with your thumb then do the nut up finger tight. Surprising how much extra thread you expose by pushing it down through the rim

Do the same to undo it.

I’ve never needed pliers to undo a valve on mine or customer wheels doing this 👍

Was it working before or is it brand new ?

Could this be a weird positive/negative chamber thing I wonder?

Try letting the air out again then every 50 psi cycle the shock( with the pump disconnected) by bouncing up and down on the saddle to equalise the positive/negative chambers.

I loved my childhood away in the caravan going on caravan club rallies.

Pitch up on some random field for the weekend and spend as much time out of the caravan away from my parents all weekend with the other kids/teenagers getting up to all sorts of mischief….

Each year there was then a northern centres and a national rally. All manor of sports to play competing against the other regions clubs.

Happy days…. I used to run home from school to get away quicker 😂

So don’t just consider these quiet sites. Your kids want to play with other kids. Not you!

I’m same height and inside leg as you.

I’m XL all the way. Got two 500mm reach bikes and could even go a tad bigger. I’d have no bother with 510mm say. Only downside I’ve found is XL’s trend to have a 500mm seat tube as well. I could do with 480mm as I have to slightly shim down my droppers.

I know everyone’s different but hope that helps your decision in some way.

I’d guess your achilles as I had a similar injury from down dog. Didn’t think I was doing any harm or over stretching but it’s the only thing I can put it down to.

Mine would feel like a sharp needle prick

If it is your achilles. Get it sorted asap… took me ages to realise what was going on and two years later I can still occasionally feel it’s not 100%…

I’ve got a trek top fuel (120mm) which isn’t much different. As long as it rides well and you put appropriate trail tyres on it I’d say you won’t notice that much. I know I don’t.

    Love it.

Well done, although I’d want my bike to come back down!

A job is a good way to make you hate your hobby.

For me this doesn’t apply. My job is fixing and selling bikes. My hobby is riding them.

They complement each other very well but one doesn’t stop me enjoying the other.

Aluminium has no place in a drivetrain if you ask me.

I am tight though and expect maximum longevity out of anything I buy.

I run Trail S front and Trail M rear and have honestly been blown away with how good this combo is.

Tone of grip up front, I can really lean into it, rear does it’s job and they carry speed as well…

I tried the Trail R before the M, again was a good tyre but I wanted taller tread for better breaking and cornering traction. Didn’t notice any loss or gain in rolling resistance.

They’re quite tough as well. Given them several good tests in the lakes. Only punctured once when I had the pressure a bit low.

I ride a short travel full suss on mainly natural trails, moorland stuff, lakes etc with occasional tail centre and I don’t hang about so they’ve took a beating.

Give them a try. I’d be surprised if you were disappointed.

I’ve seen this on a few DTswiss freehubs at work now. Could be coincidence but haven’t seen it with any other brands.

You’ll need a new one as the mangled end of the freehub will let the lock ring come loose.

All good stuff here folks. Thanks.

Campsite may be the best option as we’ve got one person in a tent by the looks of it now.

What’s the link to the trip advisor? I can’t find one with hilariously bad reviews. Could do with a laugh.

    All hail the spider bro’s!

They are welcome in my house and I even have one or two van spiders I try to feed by making sure a few flies get in after riding!!

One of them doesn’t seem keen on me placing flies on the web for it though. I guess it prefers the thrill of the natural hunt!

Fascinating watching it dart across the web, when a fly gets trapped, then wrap it up for later….

A vice can come in handy here if you’ve got one.

Nip the tyre in up to the rim then tilt the wheel over one way.

I’ve removed a couple of stubborn little buggers this way.

Seen similar on a couple of  DTswiss freehubs where the last cog doesn’t sit fully on the end of the freehub. Overhangs a bit much. It then bites into the freehub. This can let it move, which loosens the lock ring.

Check the end of your freehub see if it looks a little chewed up.

    If so. New freehub time…

But if high high is low, what is the low doing?? If I put high high and low low will low undo the high? or does high high turn high into low.

A classic case of suspension adjuster madness!

You need a weeks bed rest then briefly read up on what those adjusters do (don’t go down a rabbit hole as this can lead to full on adjuster insanity which few recover from) then go and repeat a few trails making adjustments to one setting at a time until you understand it and arrive at an overall setting you are happy with.

Good luck. I wish you well on your recovery 😂

This guy did a very good job of fixing my cracked chain stay welds. You’d not know it was repaired. Very clean looking welds.

He did the warranty work for my frame supplier so no idea how much it cost.
