OK I’ve read the news item but I can’t say I get the connection.

I’ve got tiny nostrils. I find I can’t get enough air in through my nose alone and end up opening my mouth just so I don’t choke when working hard. Is it so bad to breathe through the mouth when exercising hard?

I think I’ll keep ahold of it for winching and maybe hoisting bikes up out of the way in the shed. I’ll cut through everything else so noone is tempted to use in future.

I did this last week after a night ride and asked on here for advice. I’ve just remembered to go look and I’ve found the orange plastic bits in the bag of stuff Merlin gave me with the bike :D Cheers for reminding me.

I can see it being a great summer spectacle. Take the family and a picnic and watch track racing in the sun. Add a beer tent and you have a perfect barmy British summer activity for all the family.

Let me take a look and get back to you. I’m wondering if I can use it for anything ingenious at home first :)

I’ve got a 11mm rope, couple slings, fig 8, belay device, quick draw, rack of small/medium nuts sitting in a box. Would love to hear how I might use them for a non-climbing purpose. I think they must all be past their best-used-by date. Bought around ’95

Yeh it does need more links taking out, as I mentioned beneath the photo. Might try a halflink chain when this one inevitably stretches. It’s only a cheap Miche 1/8 I had knocking about.

I’ve had a Curve for a year and it’s not half bad, but I can’t help think that I’ll be going the iPhone 3 route next time. I’m doing more browsing and less typing these days. And as long as I can sync my google calendar with my $phone and iCal I’m sorted.

I’ve been having a massive 90s music revival listening to all the stuff I had on tape but never replaced with CDs. Got a 90s playlist going on Spotify and have added Terrorvision, The Cure, Neds Atomic Dustbin and a few others to the ever growing collection.

Can I throw the following into the mix?

These days I’m just as likely to be found listening to Squarepusher, Future Sound of London or Boards of Canada or my Negro prison songs album. Variety is the spice of life.

I get the twitch thing sometimes myself. As has already been stated, it’s just a short lapse while your brain parses and interprets the incoming signal. Like any signal, if the line is noisy, a bit of signal processing is required beyond normal, and this process takes time.

    c) Mud, grit etc yes
    d) All except the commute, but considering wearing something for that too. Plenty grime out on the roads or stuff kicked up from cars/trucks.

Thanks tim. I’m probably after a lightweight fork in the 39-41cm A to C range I guess. I am setting it up with flat bars initially but may try out drops as the geometry looks like it might suit it.

Look for Profesional Qualifications if they are experience only. They should have managed to pick up a couple by now. What sort of IT job? Look for Developer quals like Sun Certified Java, or Network quals like Cisco or Sysadmin skills like RHCE/RHCT or MSwhatever. Then discard the MS ones as they are more use as bog roll.

@mudshark I believe that the BBC may have coerced some people to try out Twitter as they have had a massive push in the last couple of months. Stephen Fry however has been a self-confessed internet geek for as long as I’ve been on the internet (around 16 years) and I recall him being evangelistic about services back in those days. He was on Twitter a long time before the BBC knew what it was, is my point.
