Yup I was quite surprised to see one come through last week. I live in a Plaid Cymru/Lib Dem stronghold and the Tories don’t get much of a look in except from a few farmers. BNP is laughable. I did notice that there was a member living a couple of miles away when their membership was leaked. I suppose I could go return the leaflet with a steaming turd or something.

Chest mounting looks like a goer. If you can get a nice wide angle view. Someone on here had a good commute video with one recently.

I thought the sensation of speed INCREASED the closer you were to the ground. Looking at passing items I struggle to see this any faster than 10MPH! Odd

I’ve got a semi-numb left little finger and have had for the past 2 months niw. A bit of research linked it with Guyon’s Canal Syndrome which seems to be popular with cyclists. I asked on here if anyone else suffered but got no replies so I guess it’s just me.

Had a flutter on the classifieds midweek.

colwyn58, kona-lance and Philip Booth(might have been from retrobike or here, I forget) all supplied goods delivered Friday or before. 1-2 days service, better than most shops. Perfect.

Aww. I’m guessing they’ll hit Nant while I’m at work. If they are running really late, I might see them after 5 but somehow I imagine they’ll be on their way to Coed y Brenin by 3PM

I’d say rollers would work better for out of the saddle work than a turbo. I understand that turbos are supposed to allow out of the saddle work but they feel very precarious when doing so.

Stick to Canon and Nikon and you’ll not go far wrong.

I use a 30D for most stuff but when on the bike I always throw in my PowerShot SX1000 IS. It works great and is surprisingly configurable for a compact.

That sounds ok to me. Maybe a touch on the expensive side but it depends what they have in store for you.

50 clays, borrow of gun, trapper costs 20 quid at my local shooting range.

You can easily shoot 150 if you have the time and inclination though.

Presumably ‘official’ rights of way – footpaths and bridleways – remain open, but any other access is prohibited.

This is how I have read it too.

Old konas do make fantastic SS bikes.

    I adore my ’94 Cindercone

I’ve got a brand new petrol hedge trimmer and a brush cutter, both of which are 2 stroke and require mixes of 25:1 and 50:1. My 10 year old mower is also 2 stroke and requires 50:1. There’s nothing odd about it. Most small petrol powered garden equipment requires a mixture. Dads sit on top has a fancy 4 stroke and electric start but that’s a bloody garden tractor.

Close call between the 3.2L TT or the RX8. Sold the TT but still got the RX8. I do miss the torque of the V6 and the build and interior of the Audi. RX8 is more spacious in the back although bike carrying was probably slightly easier in the TT with a hatch rear.

STW blindness to the phrase “NyA would be too hard” it seems.

The Mach 1,2,3 trails might be a goer although watch out for the Chute on the 3. , or you could plump for the Ystwyth/Rheidol trails which leave from town itself but are basically nice flat commuter routes through the valleys. hardpack or tarmac for the most part. How about driving to Nant-y-Moch and doing the Northern loop of the Syfydrin trail? That section is mostly open moorland, and lakeside. Or park at Pendam and loop out to Nant-y-Moch on the Syfydrin but return to the Pendam loop instead of routing down the Bont Goch descent.
    Righthand loop on this route:

853 and looks to follow the old Kona geometry at a glance (albeit for a 100-130mm fork now).

stick giro in the search and someone will usually be streaming it. You might get lucky and get Eurosport but often have to put up with other coverage with Italian, Spanish or French commentary. Still it’s free.

Caersws downhill track is nearby too but I’ve no idea what access is like or facilities. I just know they hold events there

Bloody nightmare isn’t it. I’m only 4 months into paying for my current bike on Cyclescheme and already plotting the next bike. I was going to get a cross bike like the Tricross for commute/fire road duties but then I stated wondering about the world of full bounce and looked to the Pitch. All was going well until I found out that we’re getting a consumer credit licence and now I’m pondering an Orange Five Pro!

Everyone did the loop from the food station out and back again once. I was towards the rear of the event then and got held up by the air ambulance landing. They did however shut off the slabby descent which started at the feed station area where the accident was. I think this accounted for about 1Km. Then a further loop towards the finish was removed.

Depends on the distro but I think Debian based distros export a terminal to TTYS0 so you can just throw a dumb terminal or null modem lead on to the box if needs be.

LOL I should have figured they would be an STW’er. As I said, I only remembered due to the helmet. I wasn’t that fussed but others might have been. I probably couldn’t hear you over my squealing brakes which hide the sounds of my own girlish screaming ;)

Olly most of the Aber MTB and Ystwyth lot I saw were great. I limped into the finish with a bunch of them demanding that each of their riders DO A WHEELIE at the finish line :D.

While quite a few riders flew past on the descents without warning the only one I remember was in a green t-shirt and y ddraig goch pisspot helmet. I only remember as it was distinctive.

They are the modern equivalent to a playing card between the spokes. Only required if you want to make a racket as you pass through beautiful quiet countryside.

Well I have to say that all of the riders who passed me on the descents gave absolutely no clue as to which direction they were coming from or were going to pass on. You just had to stick to your line and hope that they had a way around you. I was right at the back of the event all day so if they wanted to go faster they should have gone up the bloody hills faster and kept ahead of me. It wasn’t a big issue anyway. People ride at different speeds and ability levels, That’s half the fun of the events I guess. Just deal with it.
