Is the cable snapped at the bottom of the remote? mine is and has been since about day 2 of bike ownership. I find I have to pull up the remote and bounce the fork to get it to release usually.

Polluting a pond with chain grease and all manner of other lubes has to be frowned upon sorry :( There's free bike washing facilities supplied for by Muc-Off so there is no excuse for it.

I'll try using some draft excluder tape and another loop of insulating tape to push the tyre up onto the rim better.

0091paddy? I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying you are not aware of the term 'Ghetto Tubeless'?

Well I've been out in the shed and I've scrubbed the tyres with soapy water. They were new today and I've read that there can be a chemical present on the black chili versions which can stop sealent from adhering well. So far I've pulled the original rim tape from the 717 rim and cleaned the rim, then applied 2 layers of black insulating tape and taped in a presta valve. I soaped the bead and mounted on the rim (it mounted by hand very easily). Now trying with a track pump I can't get any air to stay in the tyre at all. It's literally escaping as fast as it goes in. What have I missed?

Planning on heading over after work on Thursday for a BBQ and beers with my team mates then riding the course Friday. Taking a Merlin Malt and planning on running Conti Speed King 2.1s tubeless or tubed depending on my successes tonight (see other thread).

Love my Altura Dryline 3/4s. I wear them over 3/4 bibs and they fit my 661 Kyle Straits underneath without any problems.

Is this related to the event near Anglers Retreat? We noticed lots of arrow signs and tape marking out the usual MX trails in the area on Weds. One of our lot said there was an event coming up.

Recently I've been wearing 3/4 bib tights with 3/4 Altura waterproof shorts over the top. On the top I've just worn a Paramo Velez Adventure smock. This is WARM but I soon cool down after a climb and I find the jacket acts a lot like a buffalo smock over the bib tights. I'm going to try the lighter Fuera windproof smock soon to cool down a touch on the climbs.

I'm riding mid wales remote and wet mostly.

What is your favourite shop? Summit Cycles
Why is it your favourite shop? local, quality service with a smile and knowledge
Is it located well? Main Drag just bellow high st.
Can you park? Usually on the road within 2 mins walk
Does it sell you coffee? or give it to you? I've not been offered but not been in for long periods of time so I'm not saying they don't.
What kind of brands does it sell/stock? Specialized, Orange, Santa Cruz, Cove, Chris King, Hope, Endura, Giro, Shimano, SRAM, Bonty etc etc
What do you consider the right amount of choice? More than 2 less than 5???? Not really sure I can put a number on this. depends on price point and requirements.

Twitter essentially is a 'micro blogging site'. WHat that actually means is that people are given 140 characters in which to convey messages. It is a broadcast medium where you choose to 'follow' any number of other users. For example, I have a lot of the top riders in the Tour on my follow list so I get nice little updates from Bradley Wiggins, Lance Armstrong, Levi Leipheimer etc every day. It's an insight into other peoples lives and I love it. I also follow friends and family to keep up to date and I tend to mention anything from the last MTB ride to how my garden is growing. It's up to others if they are interested or not but I have a few followers.

LOL. Tankslapper, I just visited your website, clicked on the air ambulance photo and there I was staring back at myself in a Yellow parkpre jersey at the Dyfi. Andrew is a co-worker of mine.

Re. the front cover pic. I actually did a double take when it landed on the mat. I thought they'd sent me another 50 as I subbed at Mayhem. I was glad to open up and find new content though. GPS review well timed with my craving for an Edge 705 and I fancy the Cambrian Way being a local too. Not read much yet so I'm looking forward to downing tools tonight and giving it a couple hours read :)

Maybe they'll put the Diesel R8 into production.

Until then, the TT is probably the way to go unless you want a BMW 'coupe'.

This is what I built in the end. Cheapo heavy components which I had knocking about but should do for a play bike.

Cat's don't drink water by choice. If they do, they prefer it from a puddle or the loo! I've never seen them drink from a bowl and they get most of their water from their food, unless you are only feeding them dried food.

Mines an '04 192 and I've flooded the engine once by starting and immediately turning off without the high rev procedure. I just had a lapse of memory for a moment. AA got it going after a few hours! I have used the high revs (I use about 4000 RPM for 8 seconds) then key off, and its never faltered since.

I've spent about 8 months under canvas/in bivi bag in the Rockies near Calgary over the summer months and I only ever used a 3 season ancient Eurohike with a home made polartec 100 liner and a 3/4 length lightweight thermarest. These were the best nights sleep I've ever had.

I've got a pair of the DHBs. I just wore them tonight and the fit is a little basic but they do the job well under my waterproof 3/4 length shorts. They are like trunk style boxers with a pad. Mine ripped a 1 inch long hole between the fabric and the elasticated waste band when I pulled them on one day. Might be my fat arse to blame but no boxers or other shorts do that.

Ultimate 'hairdresser's car' – the Ford Puma. Yet it is one of the best small cars around for fun factor (in the 1.7 guise).

Aint that the truth. I was very pleasantly surprised when I did a few laps around Anglesea Circuit in one. I almost enjoyed it more than the Formula Ford I drove after.
