    Can't say that I have heard of deliberately trying to trash the dress before but the photo is ace. Can we see the others?

    Currently 1 night ride a week and maybe a time trial if it doesn't clash with night ride. Then theres sometimes a weekend ride to be ha. Either a pre-breakfast Sunday ride or something on Saturday afternoon. Monthly longer rides and weeekends away for Mayhem, Dyfi and SITS this year.

    Daily commute to add to that from next week after a couple months lapse.

    Why the secrecy? Normally group buys are all out in the open. i.e. someone cuts a deal with a supplier then starts a thread stating xyz available at a discounted rate of £n for all STW members, orders need to be in my dd/mm/yy.

    Doethie Valley on Sunday. Maybe Cwm Rhaeadr tagged on too as I fancy a bit of Sorrel designed trail centre.

    I changed mine for the first time last night and went out and did a lap of the ClimachX in the Dyfi Forest. They seemed fine from the off, but maybe there was a subtle improvement as they bed in. I couldn't really tell. More importantly, I re-adjusted the caliper alignment to avoind any rubbing after installing them.

    Are you a qualified tester? If not, you are not qualified to make that decision.

    Also, I'm sure most drivers would admit, you learn to drive a car after you pass your test.

    In London? Try the Famous 3 Kings, or F3K as it's often known. Probably the best sports bar in the world.

    When are you heading up?

    We have weekly night rides on tues/weds/thurs (whichever day works out most suitable on any given week). Monthly Epics (We're off to Doethie valley on Sunday).

    If you prefer to ride alone, then Nant-yr-Arian has plenty to offer from remote XC to swoopy singletrack descents.

    ClimachX is only 25 mins away to the North and offers one of the best descents around (heading off there on the night ride tomorrow). There's also all the descents from the Dyfi Enduro in the same forest and these can be linked in.

    To the south and east is the Doethie Valley (see this/last months MBR), Elan Valley (MBR Route), Builth Wells (Merida).

    So nah, there's no real riding to be had around here ;)

    I picked up an Identiti Dr Jekyll off eBay for 75 quid and built it up with some old Deore/521 v-breke rims I had knockign about and the worlds crappest forks. Singlespeed with old Deore kit to keep the price down. Built it for similar reasons to you. Something to dick about on and learn to jump a bit.

    First I've heard regarding the size down thing. Anyone else comment on this? I figured a 16" would be perfect for me. The Malt is a 17 and feels just a tiny touch too ungainly in the twisties. I like a chuckable frame.

    Thanks guys. I'd prefer to keep the discussion between the Five and the ST4 though. I am not interested in complicating matters, there are plenty of other threads for 'which 4" FS bike?'

    I lapsed the first time I tried this back in January but I've just installed the iPhone app (and the 200 situps one) in an attempt to rejuvenate the challenge.

    ST4 does certainly seem to be leading the competition now :)

    There don't seem to be many out there though. Only know of a couple on here, but the likes of matt_outandabout rave about them on a regular basis. Where are the other ST4 owners I wonder?

    steve, yeh but the Five incurs the extra cost of the fork. The rebas I have will go straight onto an St4.

    That's almost the bike I've been specing up in my head!

    Chrome Grey 5 (I need a 16" cos I'm a shortarse)

    Pikes

    Gravity Dropper

    How come you don't like it?

    In your first example you need to itterate over the associative array returned by mysql_fetch_assoc e.g.

    $query = "select * from blah where something = somethingelse";

    $result = mysql_fetch_assoc($query);

    foreach ($row in $result) {
    echo $row['column_1'];
    }

    If you want to see the value of any variable in PHP, use the print_r() command. e.g.

    print_r($Content);

    in your example would have shown you a string representation of your resultset.

    It would be a lot more clear cut if the boundaries were redefined by uniting the good parts of the US with their awesome Northern neighbours thus:

    I though that there was quite a large one there already?

    Yeh we currently have

    Small Sommerfield in town (Changing to Co-Op soon)
    Large Morrisons out of town
    Co-Op small out of town (just closed to become a small supermarket chainstore)
    and a couple of Spars and another tiny co-op to serve outlying residential area.

    Only a month? why is this even an issue?

    Surfr

    I can't see it taking off.

    Machynlleth is home to only hippies and farmers. Farmers pockets arms are too short to reach the bottom of their pockets and hippies must have 101 reasons not to shop at Tesco. Therefore the Co-Op will thrive.

    I also can't see Aberystwyth locals making the 19 mile trek up to Mach as the road is longer than the 19 miles may suggest. Tesco have tried to land a store in Aber many times and I'm sure one would be successful if they could get passed the planning office, but they haven't in the past 20 years.

    Grimy, how do you find the change of travel on the Malt? I've an '09 Malt 2 which I've often wondered about changing from 100 to 120.

    Merlin Malt?

    Available in 3 flavours depending on wallet. Lightweight, Alu, takes 100mm forks, rides well. I've done Dyfi Enduro, Mayhem and SITS this year, plus a on of local Mid Wales weekly night riding and weekend runs on my Malt 2 and it's taken it all within it's stride.

    100 seems fair. Think of what you could buy in Halfords for a ton. This stacks up well in comparison.

    For those of us who have never ridden or walked up there, where can we find out about the definitive Jacobs Ladder? It sounds tremendously epic from the threads of this discussion and I'm intrigued.

    I like the fact that they are still trying to shock and this is one of the better Ads that I've seen. I think the length of the film helps drive the point home rather than letting you dismiss it instantly. I agree though that kids today are probably a lot more open to gore and violence than I was in the 70s/80s. I guess the target age is different too. Those films about open water and pylons were aged at young kids whereas these are aimed at young adults.
