Yeh I wasn't planning on sitting down more. Only on the ups where I sit down most of the time anyway as I'm a fatty

    Cheers guys.

I can't manual yet but am learning on my jump bike. I just loft the front wheel momentarily over drops but theres nothing more than 18" on my local trails (Nant-yr-Arian). I think I get the pre-load thing and will be reading the Fox manual on how to tun the RP23.

Cheers only realised this after I'd had the entire unit apart. Ended up breaking one of the shifter window indicators so removed them both. Nice of Shimano to include the circular caps tucked inside the removable windows :)

Won't it spill when I'm threading it through the guides or do you bung the end with something?

I had one on hire last month and couldn't get half the gadgets to work. It was also a gutless heap of a car. I'm used to a fast car but my co-worker who drives a W reg Passat 1.8 petrol found it seriously lacking too. I think it was bottom of the range petrol and the car is obviously far too heavy for the engine.

If you work out how to get the cruise control working you are a better man than either of us.

I hope the upsidedowners clean their shelves daily. Otherwise you are putting the mouth edge of the glass onto a dirty shelf. Less of an issue if it's just the base of the glass

I drive an rx8. Am now outside post office with 5 minutes to spare after balancing on pedal and walking the lot down. Worked a treat. Held the weight forward with left hand on bars. :)

I guess we (Mrs Surfr and I) get through about 5 bottles of wine in a week. Once a month or so we'll meet up with the lads/girls and I'll put away 50-60 quid without thinking about it on lager, take-away and taxis. When I was single I'd have been doing the former up to 3 times a week. We're in out early 30s and have no children yet so I don't feel too bad about it.

Quite surprised by how many teetotalers and near-teetotalers there are here. Surely disproportionate?

…..and one of the suggestions for how to reduce it was planning out your meals for, say a week…..

Is there an app for that ??

    How facetious!

… of course there is an app for that

Well I've just taken a blind punt on a 2008 16" frame with 2010 RP23 from Rutland for 899 quid. I've never thrown a leg over a 16" ST4 but an 18" Five was too big and I'm 5' 7" so should be in the ballpark.

Just had a call to say it will be in the post today! Will be stripping the hardtail tonight now in preparation for the transplant :D

Been doing this for about a year now and the waste is now non existent. Really worth while doing if you tend to have a blase approach to shopping.

I've just knocked up a photoshop of an '08 ST4 with Chrome Grey and '09 Rebas with my finishing kit before I hit order tomorrow. It's either chrome grey, red or white for me.

5th for the Velez. It works fantastically up in the hills on cold evenings but would be a bit much for spring showers. I often just wear it over bibs against the skin a la buffalo. It certainly seems to work in a similar way. Interested in getting one of the windproof paramo smocks for warmer weather.

There is a point to Linux. It's a fantastic server operating system. I gave up waiting for it to be useful on the desktop after many years of running it on PCs and SPARCs. OS X just gives me everything I need. a UNIX system for development and a cutting edge GUI with support for all the apps I could ever want including MS Office compatibility for those who insist on it. Parallels steps in when I really need a 'PC' for the odd extra application and no rebooting is required.

Disappointed by the new Alice in Chains album. I guess I was expecting another Sap or Jar of Flies.

Didnt think much of new manic street preachers album with nickys lyrics either.

Senior software engineer. Write and desgn my own software to my own specifications for a national cultural institution in a grand building by the seaside. Cycle to work 5 miles away and work flexitime. Live 3 miles from a trailcentre and some of the best riding in Wales. Pay is good for the area. Final salary pension. Have a junior developer who also is an STWer. Work on interesting digitisation pojects. Still wonder what it would be like to be my own boss though. Sometimes ponder learning CNC and making bike components or setting up a fancy new web 2.0 style company. But in reality I am very lucky in my present job.
