So uninstalled and reinstalled garmin express seesms to have worked. Interested in how to manually upload the file @CraigW, I resent relying on a buggy program to act as the middleman!

Has anyone used one of them? I’m convinced that it wouldn’t be very solid. Maybe I’m overthinking it …

@HarrytheSpider how did you block this individual? It’s not clear to me how I do that as this person doesn’t follow me.

@cookeaa you would think so wouldn’t you … that’s the option I have activated, but the important text is ‘on your strava profile’. So as I understand it people cannot access your profile unless you allow them, but this is shortcutted by this, appearing a bit further down the page you link to:

“Keep in mind that your activities are still visible in public locations like segment and club leaderboards, even if the clubs are listed as private”

A bit mad really becuase unless you make all your activities private then you will inevitably appear on a segment leaderboard even if your xth out of x people! I think this is what is happening in my case.

@bigmick25 that could be it as the strava privacy page does state that activities are still viewable through leader boards. Guess that’s it then, unless there is some other way to restrict, other than keep everything private which seems to defeat the social aspect!

I’m just wondering how to lock it down so that it’s not possible for randoms to view my activities. Anyone had any success at doing this?

@suggsey – tried leaving it a while and with high revs … Hope I’ve not toasted the battery …

    @rickmeister
    – was thinking of bump starting it down the hill but haven’t done that for years!
Could always give in and call the breakdown I pay for and never use!

A bit twee, but there’s some real gems in there.
    buzzfeed comics about depression
There’s also a great one about someone offering to build a nest for their friend with depression and climbing into it with them but I can’t seem to find it at the moment.
    Hang in there.

OP I’m near Exeter as well and on three. Was on giffgaff for a short while but ditched it as the coverage was rubbish.
Very pleased with three coverage and price.

So in the end we used parkatmyhouse.com to find a parking space a few minutes from clapham junction for £9 for 24 hours then a couple of quid on the train to Waterloo.
Very straightforward and I’d definitely use it again.
    Thanks everyone!

Thanks all. Found this http://www.watchmywallet.co.uk/travel-leisure/motoring/2012/march/revealed-the-cheapest-way-to-get-into-london-by-car/%5B/url%5D and it looks like the car park at Morden might work. Concerned though that I’ll only be able to buy parking until the end of the charging period (6pm) and not through the following day as well …

Thanks to all those who replied. I stuck to my guns and ended up settling for £4650 – pretty much what Hora said.

So although it’s a pain, I’m pretty happy with the final outcome.

Mike_p I looked at the ombudsman but it seemed to say that there was nothing they could do until I’d been through the complaints process with the company, and I couldn’t spot anything like you’ve described. Would you be able to send me some links? Thanks …

Thanks for all the advice. I’ve found three identical vehicles relatively close by that are knocking on the door of 5K so have sent them off. Let’s see what happens, otherwise I’ll be going down the door of making a formal complaint and then taking them to the ombudsman if they don’t play ball.
All a bit galling when the accident wasn’t our fault and my three year old has just spent a week in plaster with a suspected broken foot!

EBay isn’t going to help me fight my corner, nothing over 4k on there!

They’ve just come back to offer another 200 quid. Going to keep trying. And clearly I was ripped off when I bought the car!

Good to hear that others have had success!

I’ve pushed back with the original invoice from the garage, same for the four new tyres I’ve put on, along with half a dozen comparable (ish) vehicles from auto trader. Well see what happens next …

So I’ve lost over a stone since October (down to 13st) through more riding and eating less – simples!

I went out for a run today for the first time in about a year and did 3.5 miles at a 9 min/mile pace which I was quite pleased with. Didn’t have to stop either despite it being reet hilly round here.

But now I’m in serious muscle pain. Can’t walk down the stairs type discomfort. I’m sure the answer is to stretch – but I’m not clear on what to stretch and when to stretch it! Any tips?

And I still prefer riding, but can see the benefit of a run for fitting in some exercise in a short space of time when I haven’t got the bike with me.

    Cheers

A robot patterned chefs hat too small. Will never be used and is even too crap to go in the kids dressing up box.

My 8 y.o. and I have concluded that next birthday/Christmas we have to provide the grandparents with a list!

    Did this yesterday!

Yes the bath is best. Then dry where the hole is and mark with chalk or you will lose it. Best to leave the mat to dry really thoroughly before repairing or the little glue dots won’t stick.

I used one of these kits

    No leaks yet.

Ideally <£50 but prepared to go a bit higher if that’s not realistic.
