+1 for XT’s with big rotors. Really good power and adjustablility. possibly not that bling though.

-1 for Hope’s Had two sets before giving up on their lack lustre power.

BT protects its cables with smartwater which is a kinda of marker with chemical DNA through it.
Most if not all scrap yards in the uk know that BT cable is marked with the stuff. Prosecutions are on the up because of it.

At one point in the last five years the run rate on faulty filters was about 20%. Chinese suppliers. I spent many a happy day changing them out. grrrrr

Try running it a bit more saggy say 35%.

I did and loved it. The air shock ramps up alot so still no harsh bottom out. relaxes the front end too.

Better lighter frames on the market although price point seems about right.

Its your choice – you get what you pay for. 🙂

I rode a friends a couple of weeks ago for a full day at Innerleithen
. The build was around the xt mark with 1×10 gearing. I found it average uphill and pretty good on the downs. Cockpit felt short with a 75mm stem (I’m 6ft and it was a medium.)

Paint and welds look cheap which is why I said above that you get what you pay for.

The fox ones run dry unless serviced regularly resulting in premature wear. I’ve been using Enduro ones for about three years with no problems.

Initially they are a little tighter which gives forks extra stiction but they wear in really well.

    I’d recommend them.

Not much of a deterrent to be honest. Left the keys at home once. Had it opened in 2 mins in the carpark without any special tools.

    What Project said ^

Take discs and pads off.Wash with soapy liquid and rinse, dry them and bang them in the oven at 200 for 20mins.

Worked a treat for me when I sprayed chain lube all over my rear disc.

Move your brakes inboard for max leverage and use only one finger on each hand for braking.

    Anything else is mental.

I found it reduced my arm pump on the downhill bike to nil at Fort William.

Saint brakes on DH bike and XT on trail bike.

Can easily lock both ends with one finger.

Ordered a pair of Mavic 819s from thema couple of weeks ago. Pictures were of the “disc” version. In description it also mentioned disc version. I swooped a got a pair for £60.
They arrived typically late and once opened I found that they’d sent the non disc version with v brake surfaces. FUGLY!

Sent them back with an explanation of why I wanted a refund on items and postage and got a shitty responce basically calling me idiot.
I got am item refund but no postage refund.

    The website hasnt been updated.

They’ve lost it customer service wise.

As others have said they crack.

I had one on my DH bike and it snapped in cold weather.

As some uplifts use the seat to attach the bike I wasnt going to take the chance of my bike disapearing towards the ground.

Take shock off bike and pump to desired pressure.

    Submerge in bucket of water.

    Find leak.

My Rp23 was leaking from arround the shrader valve and was easily sorted.

I have BT Vision and have found it to be pretty good. The user interface is great and its very easy to program recordings. Only draw back for me is the lack of HD from freeview. The wife and kids enjoy the on demand films which are funnily enough in HD?????

A friend and i explored the area about three years ago with the idea of cutting some trials from the top of the fire road climb back down to the road at the loch.

TBH it looked better on the memory map than in reality. Very boggy ground for such steep terrain.

I’d be up for another look.

My father bought a 1953 Triumph T110 about six years ago for £4k. Last week he was offered £10k for it. Not concourse but in good usable condition.

The classic market is a fickle thing. Honda RC30 is a good expamle of a bike that would never go down in value because of its race heritage.

I kick myself that I past up a chance to buy one about ten years ago.

Quiberon peninsula has lovely beaches, lighhouses and great campsites. Take ferry to Belle Ile on a day trip. Quiet and very beutifull. Can hire bikes.
Standing stones at Carnac another great place.
La Baul further south is a bit more commercial. Beaches are stunning.
St Nazaire has old underground submarine pens from WW2 which make a brill day out amazing feels like a set from a Bond Movie!

I’m going back next year with the Caravan.

All doable in the wet. The downhill tacks actually ride better damp than when dry – More grip.

IMO Pedrosa went into the corneron a defensive tight line he saw Simoncelli and “ran on” on the brakes in an attempt to put him wide. Simoncelli was fully past by the time they made contact. At best a 50/50. Simoncelli didnt deserve the ride through. It could have easily been sorted out after the race.

Feel sorry for Pedrosa though. His injury list is growing by the race.

Big up to Critchlow too. He was kicking the sh*t out of that bike in Qaulifying. His first time at LeMans as well. Good show, unlucky to have come off.

Climb road past Mamore lodge on North side of Loch up to Loch Eilde Mor dam. Return down same path for about 150yrds and take the first path on the left which heads steaply back into KinLochleven. If your a Dh’r you’l love it. Loose and very steep in places riding out into some very sweet single track in the forest below.
We did it last year after being inspired by Aaron Gwinn and Joe Barnes’s video.
    I’d do it again.

Be very carefull, Friend of mine bought a HTC recently only for it to get blocked a 2 weeks later when the previous owner reported it as stolen. No amount of calls to the service provider would sort the problem. Ended up chasing it through ebay which was as much use as whistling underwater.
