Supply and Demand. The price is what people are willing to pay. Touts have to make a living too.

MM up front paired with a Vigilante on the rear for Winter Scottish non trail centre type sillyness.
I couldnt find a Shwalbe tyre that was any good on the rear.
HD just cloggs up and wont clear no matter how fast you go.
RR is amazingly quick and better than expected grip level wise when on the dge of the tyre but you’d be insane to run one on steep muddy trails.

The Vigilante seems to have enough volume to avoid pinches and clears pretty well.
I’ll ditch it again once there is a chance of dry trails…. maybe August who knows

I cracked a rib and bruised my liver around five weeks ago. Lost the front end and fell awkwardly onto my own saddle. Sleep and physical activity was limited for about 2 weeks. Stupidly went for an easy ride about week 3 and spent the whole ride in pain (idiot). Now in week five had another go and nil pain whilst riding.
Tentatively getting back into it. Scared of repeat hit to same area.
    good luck

1.5mm min on Shimano rotors. Measure with micrometer. Using Metal pads wears them down quicker than resin ones.
Only noticeable problem with running them right down is increased squeel and tendency to warp with heat build up, perhaps increased lever throw.

We ride the Golfie all year round. As others have said its more a need to weight the front and be sympathetic on the brakes whilst keeping rotation enough to clear your tyres.
Crisp / Frosty days are amazing up there.

The less used/scrubbed trails can become greasy.

Stick to the most used ones

Check the fill valve on your new toilet. Pressure changes when other appliances are used can result in water passing and causing weird noises.

I’ve used a socket set and screwed rod for years with no problems.

I see Ive come to the right place!
So mostly loaded to supplier gains than any real tangible improvement to my life then.
    I’ll ignore them again then.

    Cheers

Stravas a joke without one. Just look at some of the ridiculous segment time posted from poor quality phone based GPS units… Get a garmin more accurate and saves you phone battery for making calls and facebooking…LOL

I was disappointed for Redding. Cooked his tyres early on and paid for it by having to chang to a defensive plan in the second half of the race. His weight is a real penalty when attacking. Needs to move up this year I recon. His team mate raced a blinder yesterday showed his experience and was unlucky on the last corner.

Both Hondas looked to be in good shape yesterday, suited their top speed. Marquez is exciting to watch and could easily be in contention for the title.

We stay in Dalbeattie frequently and can heartily recommend Luigis italian in the town. Genrous portions good service and very resonable. Stear clear of the two pubs in Kippford. Overpriced microwave food generally aimed at those staying in the adjacent caravan park.

I have Hope Evo 11 SP on Stans Flow EX.

Superb compared to my XT wheelset which had cup and cone nightmares with.

Only negative point- is cleaning the SP hubs – almost impossible to get in and around them once the disc is on. If your not a clean freak then not a problem. Normal hope ebos just wipe clean.. easy!

Moto GP – Marquez fastest in 3 out of 4 sections. I cant see by him for the win tomorrow.

Moto 2 – Redding for the Win.
He really needs to move up next year. Even with the extra minimum weight rules this year he’s two kilos down on all his competitors at the front.

Open free hub. Pack with grease.

    Simples.

I too like silence on the bike. Its a higher evolutionary thing!

Hope hoops, just put some grease in the bearings when you buy them. Ive found them to be a little “light” on grease from new.

After time the main air seal wears. If you store compressed it loads the seal up. Fine if seal is fresh, not so fine if it is worn. Just pump it up to 250psi and in the near future plan for a service. Store in up position.

I’ve removed mine and replaced them with normal ones the minute that I bought the car. Seen far to many nightmares with them. They are poorley manufactured which isnt helped by the monkeys in teh garage over tightening them.

The majority of the steep stuff is away from the plenney anyway as people have already said.

The only issue I fear are the huge ques likely to build up at the Super Morzine bubble in the mornings.

Were heading out in July and I cannae wait!

For non commercial purposes you should contact your local civic ammenity centre and they will tell you what to do.
We damped ours down wore masks/respiarators and double rubble bagged the tiles before sealing them with gaffer tape and then took them to the local dump.
Your local place will have a policy on it.

Commercially it can be a bit of a nightmare.

Or you could just fill the bottom half of a skip with it which is what our neighbour did. He is an oaf though and probably someone best shot at birth.

GPS as its much better on battery life than the iphone with all the GPS and map stuff running. Leave your phone for emergencies and photos.

I find Strava very motivating. It doesnt have to be all about being the KOM. It tracks progress and enjoy using it to see how Ive progressed fitness wise.

Its also great for some post ride banter with your mates.

Dont get too serious its all ment to be fun

    Ride!

Good point. Disconnect battery and check that all cells are functional. Should read around 12v disconnect. If less then could be a faulty cell/plate

Should increase voltage to about 13.5 volts at around 2.5K revs otherwise its not charging the battery.

Check all wiring and the aux belt before going down the replacment route.

I did the same about three years ago. No problem targeted ex lease car and only paid what I had in budget.

I suggest going up and watching a couple of auctions before going live.

If its for yourself you’ll always be prepared to outbid traders, but odnt get too caught up in the excitment of bidding.

Speak to the driver as they drive the cars in. Its amazing what you can tell just from asking a few questions.
