I have a works components alternating thickness chain ring, XT clutch mech, 11-36 SLX Cassette and KMC X10 chain on my Rocket. It’s covered over 100 miles so far on mostly lakeland trails, not one dropped chain with no guide either.
Also I destroyed the mech and hanger on a rock so had to go back to using non clutch XT mech for a week until replacement arrived, it still didn’t drop the chain. I’d recommend one to anyone.

Unfortunately The Shed at Mabie is still shut due to Staffing problems :(

If you want to hire try http://www.cycle-centre.com/ they’re based in Dumfries and are the people who own the shed, I’m sure they’ll help you out.

They now have both Medium cage and Long cage listed for £39.95 so ordered a Medium and will see what turns up.

I put mine under the seat of the van as a spare for that inevitable ‘In a rush and forgot my helmet’ moment (me or friends!)

I have one of the Dare2be Struckout jackets from Rutland cycles (Spend £3.50 on lube to make it upto the £20 free postage limit)

It doesn’t pack away that small (12″x8″) but does the job and does it well for £17.50.

On second look they only have L – XXXL in stock, ok if your a bigger rider…

* why cotic ?? Cy and Paul.

* why that model – Saw Robbie Rickman took his MK1 BFe to the Megavalanche and thought ‘that’s the bike for me’

* set up 36 TALAS, X9 1X10, Saint, Tubeless 823s, Nobbie nics, Hope

* opinions !! Coming from 3years of BFe riding, the bendy middle is taking quite a bit of getting used to. So far Rocket is a comfortable all day ride but also good fun for a couple of hours play down the local jump spot. :)

My 10 speed chain refuses to come apart (never used to be an issue with SRAM powerlink on 9spd)

Unfortunately SRAM 10 speed chains come with a powerLOCK that to quote SRAM

SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool free, sure and consistent way to connect our 10 speed chains. While PL does not require special tools for install, the especially tight tolerances of 10 Speed drive trains mandated that each PowerLock is good for a one-time application only.

Not the rejoin-able powerLINK of the 9 speed systems.

Apparently it is possible to undo/rejoin them but i have never succeeded.

I was in the Peaks this weekend down from Carlisle, for the Cotic Rocket Demo. I did find it hard at first to link routes as there are so many short sections of bridleway. But after some deliberation and as Simon and Matt from 18bikes said, pick a bridleway, you can’t go wrong! we came up with two routes.

Morning – http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/uMBRAdJ2fcU
Afternoon – http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/qFJ5aXoLoMo

(edit) You’ll need OS Maps OL1 and OL24, we mainly used OL1

I love my Sensation, not perfect i know but i’m not a fan of the Samsungs UI (Personal preference n’all)

I use These Screen protectors and an Anker 1900mAh to improve the Battery life, I normally get a full days USE from it putting it on charge when i go to bed.

I haven’t tried this Ghetto tubeless inflator yet, but when i take my first dabble into the tube free world it’ll be my first port of call. If that doesn’t work I’m lucky enough to have a tyre garage 4 doors down :)

As Far as i’m aware the geo for the rocket is very similar/the same as the rest of Cotic’s range.

Frames will be available on or around the 1st Demo day, the 14th of April. Which i will also be attending :)
If you are impatient give them a ring on 07970 853 531.

I have a Hope M4 with a 203mm floting Rotor on the front and an X2 with a 180mm floting rotor at the rear of my 853 Bfe.
The BFe has a strengthening brace between the chainstays and the seat stays to help counteract large braking forces so I can’t see why a 203mm wouldn’t fit on out back.

For the reason the brake mount is on the drive side front, as ahwiles said it’s to do with braking forces.

Might try brewing for 3 mins as i’ve always used Yorkshire tea.

Perfect cuppa = (T + V) + (H20 @ ( 98.5°c) 2mins + S + oSt

Is the Formula i’ve always used (form http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/cgi/news/release?id=92708 ) but it does seem hit and miss.

Sugar?

+1 Olympus Mju (Tough)

Mine has been everywhere and done everthing with me and still works pirfic. Not the gratest Optics for a 12MP Camera but you can't expect everything! I've heard that Canon have a similar tough style that has better optics..

Thats quite cheep for the Shimano AM40s.

I tried on both the freerides and the impact2s at my LBS, I bought the Sam hill Impact2 as i don't know if it was my imagination but the freerides felt thinner on my feet?

Looks Lurvley Freeform, the PHat oval TT must be a nice sight between your legs  What tyres you running, in the pictures of just the forks you look to have Minions on but Specilzied (enduros?) on in the full build pics?

ikimbunza What do you call NW? I'm up in Carlisle and own a 16" (small) BFe you can have a size guide ride on, my Email should be in my profile.

Changed a couple of things since then, I bent the Easton seatpost so have replaced with a Thomson elite and changed the 2.35 ITS 909 FRO lights for some lower volume 2.35 High rollers as there was little chainstay clearance and they caused massive drag, awesomely grippy on the downs though (:

I've had a W995 for ~6months now, and upgreded from it predecessor the W910i because it's good at what it does, playing music (Great battery life) Internet browsing if you get Opera browser Email and genral being an actual phone not a PDA/Laptop.

The camera is 8.1mp but it really isn't the quality of a proper digital camera, but if it's only for 'out on the ride shots' it's good enough.
There is then an inbuilt app that'll let you upload your photos (individually) to Facebook or a blog via MMS. At £0.35 a MMS message you might give that a miss and opt to use the easy to set up inbuilt Email for such things.

As of the 'Get rid of the TomTom GPS' It's A-GPS, meaning that Google maps route planner is good but requires a good internet connection to download the maps and doesn't speak the directions like the Nav Software.
Mine did come with Navigation software in the location services menu, it ain't great but will get you there.

Thanks Ambrose for the heads up about Endomono.

Not replace – compliment

The BFe geomatry is that similar to the soul if you bought a 17.5" Beefy you'd just end up with a heavier version of what you alreday have.

I'm presuming your ~5'11 if you ride a medium Soul, go for the smaller 16" BFe, it's chuckable and great for hooning about on for everything short of the long all day epics, which you have the the Soul for…

superfastjellyfish

Sure you'd be losing 30mm on your cockpit size but a medium (16") BFe is still quite a long bike and with adjustable forks can hack round most trails.

Why do you want to replace the soul with a BFe?
