Never quite understood the snobbery that surrounds the G&T.
Here in the Basque Country it´s the drink of choice at the weekend regardless of age or wealth.

By far the nicest I´ve ever had includes the following:

    G´Vine Gin[/url]
    Fentimans Botanical Tonic
    Slice of Lime

If you can make your own beef stock (bones, veg, wine etc) then it´ll beat any recipe.

Personally I love a good Beef and Guiness stew with mashed spuds, spring onions topped with sharp cheddar.

Did a grey cloudy ride along the basque coast, was lovely.

The chicken will be factory farmed but conditions in the UK are about as good as you can hope for with that. Would I eat it?…….erm next question.

Irish beef is world class, have you not seen how green the grass is?
Some Basque restaurants round here import beef from Ireland purely on its flavour profile.

Interested in the Dishwasher comment. Why is that then?

Sharp knife bouncing around under a high pressure spray and sawing through plastic trays.
Deteriorating the quality of the handle.
Drips of water left too long on a blade will stain it.
Forget it´s in the cutlery section and grab a handful of sharp knife.
    May explode…

Let me know if you find anyplace nice to stay/visit. Going to Munich for a week in November, and maybe a bit of biking in Austria if the weather isn’t too scary.

That’s a better deal than Canyon, which is saying a lot.
I had a quick go on Ed Oxleys El Guapo (when he wasn’t looking) and it’s a great frame.

Conti RQ tubeless 2.2 front and rear after dumping both Rocket Ron’s and High Rollers.I found the RR a bit sketchy in fast corners and I didnt get on with the HR gap between middle and side knobbies.

The RQ were a bit of a pain to set up (leaky sidewalls).
Fair enough though, after a few emails, Conti sent me a new set.

I don’t ride trail centers, just mountains and natural trails.
These have been the best tires I,ve tried to date.

I did a week long skills and biking course with Ed here in the Basque country.

Have to say the man is a gent and a natural teacher. I ended up with a few new tricks and a lot of stuff to work on. He spots your weak points straight away and is kind enough not to rag you about them.

I’m a lot faster and more confident now down my local “goto” route than before and I owe it all to the beard.
If you read this Ed, I,ve cut down those airplane bars and got me arsenal back over the saddle;-

Hope to make it up to Hebden one of these days, quite fancy the jumpsfordads course.

Just checked out the rest of the stages. Apart from the finish in Madrid it looks pretty good, mucho mountains.
Andorra to barcelona will hurt a few legs.

Watching the coverage on local basque tv and it’s fine, no chopper noise.

The way the Spanish economy is going, they,re lucky just to be able to stage the event.
And if you think it looks a brown now, wait til they head down south.

Tomorrow will be a shitty day, just get through it.
The fact you care enough to stay with him tonight shows he´s had a good run with good people, take comfort in that.

Wanted to type more but can´t.

For the dive, put some compression on, but turn the floodgate down

No floodgate to turn down. I get compression and rebound only.
Am also 5ft 7 and skinny :/ sag is about right.

When you´ve managed to hide all the cables and sorted out proper sound and a nice tv/screen, it all comes down to your media frontend and storage.

Store all your HD movies, music etc on a pc and install XBMC. Buy an MCE Remote control and you´ll have a setup thats faster, smoother and more professional than commercial options.

I´m currently using a silent pc with Win7, XBMC and a library of around 500 movie titles. There are no CDs or DVDs in the house. It looks like this:

Not at all, I´ve always believed it´s healthy for couples to have separate interests.

She has, however become suspicious when I try to steer our holidays towards mountainous wilderness or Alpine resorts rather than “nice” and “interesting” places.

OK, I tried out a sony reader and the ipad in a shop today. No kindles available
Despite what most people think, I still think the ipad is overpriced, isn´t it basically just a stopgap between a phone and a laptop without the features of either? Anyway, it´s just too big to be portable for reading.

I think the e-ink is going to swing it for me, I read quite a bit for hours at a time.

+1 for the Canaries, I went to Tenerife last February and got a bit of biking in with Lavatrax. Cheap flights, good food, sunshine, mountains, volcanoes and beaches.

    La Palma looks good too

I´ve bought a few bits from here, always used paypal gift since the sellers were regulars here and I never bought anything big. I live in Spain so local pickups aren´t an option,

I wouldn´t have any problem buying a full bike or frame but then I´d pay the paypal fees for the insurance.

It amazes me that anyone over the age of 12 would drink redbull or monster.

“Red bull, it gives you wings.” ….and funny coloured vomit.

They’d walk a damn sight faster if the archers were allowed to target them
You could set the walkers off mincing and give them 20 or 30 seconds head start

Does anyone have a Nicolai with the gearbox? I´m tempted but it´s a lot of money just for the frame/shock.

Tbh it´ll still cost me 2k after selling off my current frame + bits.
Since I can´t get a test ride I´d love to know if anyone has a pinion frame and what´s it like?

Got mine ex-display from the local bike shop.
It´s a good helmet, deals well with proper hot summer weather (spain) and has taken a few proper knock without any worries.

I did lose one small plastic bit but POC replaced it no questions within a week. Solid company.

Yoga leaves you flexible and might help.

Problem with collarbone injuries is that there´s usually a “superman” moment preceeding them. Tense up in a crash, arms out and the impact has nowhere else to go. I´ve yet to see anyone smart enough to barrel roll out of an otb moment (myself included).
