You could try cutting a small circle of old tube and stick it over the valve hole. Then shove the valve through that.

I´ll explain that one as soon as someone comes up with an answer as to the use for cushions piled up at the head of the bed.

I have a small list of traditional foods that I just avoid.
Top of that list is Andouillettes. It´s a pigs colon, that smell just isn´t going to be nice and no amount of Dijon will hide it.

    I make it sometimes.
    Recipe is:
Ox tripe, boil it for three hours with salt. Slice it up and add chickpeas fried onions, garlic, chorizo sausage.
Give that a sautee and then add some tomato, bring to the boil and simmer.

For most people, so long as they don´t realise what it actually is I can guarantee that it a tasty dish that will have them asking for more. Spuds and peas optional.

    Should look like this:

Throw into the mix that the present and previous generation have been exposed to a massive amount of pesticides, artificial chemicals and radiation both in the home and in their/our food.

Cancer has always been with us but we basically gave it steroids and free reign after the industrial revolution.

Over zealous censorship, don´t bother complaining.

Common sense works just fine for 99% of people, it´s the other 1% that gave rise to the necessity of Mods and other sub-species. It´s a necessary evil that´s been around since irc days and isn´t leaving anytime soon.

It will destroy everything inside , but at least you can say you got it open !

But it won´t count, cheating is bad.

Tbh it didn´t look all that difficult, nothing too fast and the path is pretty wide most of the way down. So long as you have the hang of switchbacks you can do it.

    Horrible muzak in the vid.

Saw it a few days ago, it looks lovely. Simple lines and the shock is in a position that makes sense.

If they throw in a free beard with every order they´ll have a winner.

I almost bought some Easton wheels in the CR sales but decided against them after trying to source spare spokes just in case, next to impossible. I went with Hope&ZTR in the end.

Just realized it´s Ibiza and not Tenerife, ignore my last post.

I was in Ibiza a couple of years ago too but made the mistake of staying near San Antonio.
Once you get away from there the rest of the island is lovely.
Get a peek at Es Vedra, stunning.

I stayed there last year in El Medano, a small fishing village with some quiet beaches. We stayed in Villa Las Duna, the owners, Jill & Nigel are lovely people.

Started every day with a stunning breakfast. Bike storage was no problem and I arranged some guiding with pickup from the villa with Lavatrax.

Lots of nearby bars and restaurants with traditional or modern menus.
Rent a car to get around the island and definitely get up to see the volcano 12,200ft high.

The bite point adjust works fine if you bleed the brake with it screwed right out.

<– What he said. It took me a few goes to figure this out with my XTs.

I helped a friend set up a Seagate GoFlex Home NAS storage device with his Macbook Air.
Took about 20mins and was a lot cheaper than an Apple Time Capsule.
You get the advantage of easy backups and sharing with both Windows and OSX. itunes and photos synced up easily aswell.

…or you could spend an extra 100+quid for a white box which will do the same but maybe not be as easy to use outside OSX.

Depends where and how you ride.
Pinch flats drove me insane, didn´t matter which tires. Since going tubeless I haven´t had any.

I had a few early issues with tires burping and losing pressure during the early days but it was just a matter of finding the right inflation pressure. I used to run them too low.

Biking in Tenerife is excellent and I´ve seen some vids of La Palma that make it very tempting too.

On Tenerife I´d recommend renting a car, the island is big enough that you´ll miss a lot otherwise.

Lavatrax.com is a great guiding option, especially if you´re in the south.

Acid led me to US house and then to Robert Owens, incredible vocalist.

Acid was scarier, if I remember rightly.

Does anybody make bread by hand anymore?

Just curious, can’t just be me.
Stick yer machines where the sun doesn´t shine.I get paid to do this, bread by hand with a good oven is as good as it gets. Just use strong flour and bakers yeast.

My LBS mechanic spent an hour fixing a sticking hub on my rear wheel because he knew I needed the bike the next day.

He could have easily ordered the replacement part but it would have meant a delay and ruined my holiday plans with the bike.

The best part, I asked him “how much” at the end and he said “nothing, you owe me a beer”.

I´ve heard a few tales about Spain and the Basque country in the 80s/90s, tbh glad I wasn´t around.

Things have definitely changed for the better, I have first hand experience of that.

I´m not too far down the road from Doug, there´s a few of us scattered around here. A meet up for a ride and a few beers would be nice when the weather eases up a bit…

(Sorry bout the hijack Trout, you are also invited though)

The Guardia (Spanish National Police) feel naked without a gun to hand. It´s normal to them. Probably didn´t even realise you were freaked out.

Very little to choose between French and Spanish medical care, they´re both excellent, I know doctors on both sides.
