@Drac – out of interest why couldn’t the wanted forum be left as it was?  Was it too costly to run?  Genuine question…  Thanks.

Ian Botham surely?  But in all seriousness, Brian Blessed would definitley get my vote too.

I took a year out travelling before Uni and had accepted my place at Uni so I was happy with that.  Worked on Camp America, then travelled round the US and then travelled around Oz and NZ for a couple of months.  Fantastic life experience before University!  Still meant that studying was about number ten on my priority list at Uni :-) but no regrets at all..

I have that Whyte and a Voodoo Bizango. I’d say it depends, if you lose a few pounds and get fitter that would help a lot. It will be lighter, but I’d say fitness is more crucial tbh. However if you can afford it then go for it! As Chakaping says, borrow your mates and see if you notice a difference? Good luck and enjoy!..

Voodoo bizango, or if it were me I’d buy one second hand off here (or something similar) Cotic maybe.

BA has massivley gone down hill in the last 18 months IMO. Having to check in your own luggage and getting rid of having a free drink on the flight has just made them compete head to head with RyanAir, Easy Jet et al, which frankly they aren’t very good at anyway! BA used to have a price premium as you got better service, now they seem to be in a race to the bottom on saving costs and don’t give 2 hoots about customer service (rant over!)

Poopscoop – moral of the story is don’t sign a contract and agree to said T’s and C’s of a contract until you understand it and know whether it is lawfully binding. In this case fortunately for Michael from Newcastle it was wasn’t!

I had a Garmin 200 for few years and it worked fine, upgraded to a Garmin 800 and it works fine too. Sometimes both were and are very slow to pick up satellite signal though which is a pain. My biggest gripe has been when i’ve tried to take a Strava route, of a friends, save it as a GPX and then load it onto Garmin Connect (which I think is pretty poor s/w). Could be user error, but why in 2017 is that so difficult!!?? :-)

As long as you get a receipt for the work, why not pay by cash? He has his responsibilities to HMRC not you!

Given the depreciation on bikes, why not get a 1-2 yr old one for £1200 and spent the balance on upgrading his road bike!? :-)

Thanks Richpenny… avoid ceiling speakers due to better sound quality if not ceiling mounted? Point taken re ethernet too. Anyone running Sky Q? Interested to know of you can stream to it reliably as well… I’m assuming you can otherwise how can SKY be selling it..

@Angeldust et al, thanks for the feedback it’s appreciated… The projector is £6-800 so that might give you an idea of budget. I was thinking of going for 4-5 ceiling speakers plus a sub as I want it to be quite minimal looking. Not sure if sound would be ok from that?… I’ll do some more research too…

@skids thanks for the heads up…

Re projector, I’ve been recommended the BenqW200 (it works for the dist. from back wall to projected screen wall) so any real world experience of that or similar is appreciated. Maybe I should run a LAN cable too so I can stream if need be too in the future over the internet…?
