Tell buyer to pay, then watch them walk away.
You pay, of course, esp. for usual answers.

DT you did it right in corporate land, the only thing better would maybe a prolonged silence before saying it.
Depping at a mtg i said good morning to the director who didnt know me and in return asked pointedly if I had got lost and was in the wrong meeting, told him all the good ones were busy today so unfortunately he had to settle for me as i sat down next to him, his SLT who knew me pissed themselves laughing loudly. It clearly boiled his blood and he kept hid back to me the whole time. Sometimes self deprecation is just so perfect.

One I have heard used is ‘you have dillusions of adequacy’

The Gendarmes charged me €22 for riding my bike a few years ago, and I thought I got off lightly TBH. It was the €200 euro that I then got charged for the gallon of diesel that I was fetching that hurt.
The Gendarmes were very nice about it, after fining me they kept coming back to make sure I hadnt moved was ok until the breakdown man arrived.
I had nothing but good thing to say about them all, as I think they did about me

Trouble is neither of those employers would appear to be working on an UK site and therefore not subject to 1974 H&SAW etc. Act.

Sure enough, but your point has got absolutely nothing to so with anything we are discussing

    and anyway….

Google and Samsung provide company bikes for people to cycle around their respective (gigantic) campuses. No hiviz for cycling on their sites that I’ve ever seen.

I suspect these two have a very good traffic management plan in place on campus that segregates pedestrians and cyclists from motorised traffic. If they can show this is how it works Hi-Vis would not be necessary once the risk assessment has been carried out and documented.

Google and Samsung…….not talking about the UK either

Pity that the Surrey bike jumble is turning into a Berkshire bike jumble…

Okey dokey, well then we can hold in the Tesco’s carpark which is located at the Surrey,Hampshire and Berkshire border tripoint about 15mins from Look Out, and just by alternative southern and western access points to the forest.

Bracknell Arena hosts regular computer thingys in their main hall on sundays.

Makes sense because its 2 mins from Swinley so maybe more would travel if they could combine.

I have seen Hyundai shipyard workers cycling alongside sections of ship, and Boeing use bikes, but the health and safety regime is huge and they are given specific training. So sorry but bluff, it’s not the same as the urban jungle.

Tough luck! People at our place can do enough to make themselves look invisible we are so desparate for work. Have you spoken with Andy G to see if there is a ‘franchise partner’ proposal to be made? Local mobiles seem forever busy. Also I know a nice mobile chap Dorking way who I’m sure would chat about setting up.

The soap dispensers aren’t great, I gave up on them. Just buy a cheap set of digital scales, much easier.

Fairy snuff, last few years I found them excellent, except where you let the resin get too cold and wax up

I’m just interested in the motives behind the very strong feelings on this issue..

It’s lunchtime, it midweek, we are having a lively debate to relieve the boredom of being stuck inside instead of being able to be on the trails (with or without helmet, lycra etc)

I respect view and beliefs. But in the same token, like those that have views/beliefs based on an invisible friends requirements, I disagree that they have any part in any logical argument.

The Americans are up in arms about Obamacare, as an infringement of the right to individual choice. So who’s up for dismantling the NHS?

You won’t be FORCED to wear a helmet but you will be FORCED to carry a credit card if you want to be scraped off the road/trail by an ambulance. In fact how annoyed you guys must be that you are forced to use credit cards now, when you still insist on carring your blanketyblank chequbooks and pens?

GrahamS – seriously I have actually spent time pondering what form a car helmet could take, because I see that as my largest single risk hazard in an accident – bourne out by the motor industry, side air bags will be de rigeur within the next few years. If you crash frontal impact is by miles the best protected, side impact is shit because your proximity to hard ojects and lack of energy absorption. Head injury from side impact is really really bad.

I use this stuff West System[/url] 105/205, you can get graduated dispensers that screw in like soap bottles and give you the right ratio amount, saves loads of measuring hassle.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha…….and ha!

OP has posted a very vague question, OP hasn’t yet returned to explain, and so STW has kicked off.

Well **** it I’m in – H&S has brought us massive benefits, most of which had to be introduced through legislation that forced people to do it.

Seatbelts in cars? I’m not wearing that, dont treat me like a child I can decide for myself, its a slippery slope, driving isn’t dangerous I’ve never had an accident in my life, blah, blah, blah.

I’d give her mine but I only got my 4 – first ever smartphone – this year! :?

When I got bumped by KLM and BA they both gave me £125 cash, and that was a few years back. You have to check the standard airline rules but overbooking its not a carriage disruption issue its a strategic business decision and normal rules of breach of contract *should* apply. Your problem is the efoort of pursuing it.
Why did it cost you £625? To be fair, what if there was travel disruption due to, oh lets say a big storm, then your colleague would have missed his flight. Just because flights are usually dependable doesn’t mean its reasonable to rely upon them.

Its an improvement on the Z3 but I immediately thought MX5 rebody – which seems to be where Tribute started out – but thats maybe photos for you. Fair play to you it looks very nicely executed and the lines are good, how good were the mouldings and how much shut line filling did you need to do? I really like the Velo Rossa kits, the Tribute 250 kit is just wrong, very like the mr2 355s.

Was it displayed clearly? They take a picture of the vehicle. The scan and forget won’t work, I fought them but it’s run by Vinci and they play hardball I really had to fight. And i believe that council carparks are protected by bylaw so the it’s not enforceable claim won’t help.

If the threads on the bolt are damaged too then you will need to fix that also. If the bolt is OK and the hole is only a bit damaged molgrips technique might work, but it usually only works on ally not cast iron. A bolt thread gets max strength with only a few threads so unlikely to be a problem once you fix, its shear force on the bolts, so as long as it tightens up OK you are absolutely fine.
If you haven’t got/cant get a tap and die, try cleaning up the bolt with a fine file and try molgrips idea carefully, dip in oil first, maybe just maybe.

Any crash is going to be low speed tho

Hmmm, 50mph + vehicle coming other way at 70mph? That’s not slow speed – why I made sure I got a full set of proper seatbelts in the back of mine.

Anyway, stoppid – I recorded 2nd half, had to break off to make ‘last day before half term fancy dress costume you can wear to school’

Most work is done pre-exchange, so its normal to pay almost full price if it falls at last hurdle, esp. where its a fixed price deal which is not so lucrative.
However, on the face of it he (tried to) charged you for something he didnt do and was seriously negligent in his conduct. Just lucky it didnt go through on the day.
These are very serious professional conduct matters, if you inform the Law Society they may be very interested.

Do what DH did and just deny they ever arrived!

Legally you rescinded the contract and they acknowledged this, so you are still entitled to refund and DH have to come and collect the forks. You write/email them and tell them they have a reasonable time (14 days) to do this else you will dispose of them.

Send a letter before action (google it for template) for your refund then fill out a moneyclaimonline

…not sure I’d want people hitting it at 30mph

Some hay bales or a few bollards and a bit of tape and you’ve got a nice chicane – adds feature to the race. Stone birds two with, simples

On second thoughts that would probably kill most threads
