Did you tell the rossers about the small scratch on her car caused by the other driver? Because in that case they would (eventaully) write to you giving you his details…….
and DVLA have a form for this purpose – just so long as you have a legit reason per the above…..

Dont buy Nexus just yet – apparently the 32Gb is imminent and is likely to drop the price of the 16 dramatically as soon as it is announced, wait a few weeks and you could save £50 or more

Condoleeeeeza Rice denied extraordinary rendition took place – then defended it as lawful when it came out that she had lied.

Even though the US asserts sovereignty over Guantanamo, the Guantanamo Bay detention camp is considered outside U.S. legal jurisdiction by the US – so they detain without sentence (in violation of the basic habeas corpus rights underlying all proper criminal legal systems) and have admitted torture (unlawful under the Geneva Convention).

Call that true democracy and a safe legal system/govenance? Lying, false imprisoning, torturing, hyprocritical scumbags.

Chao here is having some very new electrotherapy thing instead of injections that gave scant relief. Seems they put an epidural type thing into the muscle near the nerve and blast it with either ultrasound or electricity. One side it works, the other it doesn’t!

I use counter-intuitive psychology – all my purchases are done using wifes paypal account so they arrive with her name on them, she is home day with me at work and so opens everything first, then I leave it lying around the kitchen all week until I can fit at the weekend.
She never complains at me, so it must work!

i’m just about to issue a european small claims against Paypal for £200, I paid someone with paypal fees (I paid fee) and the item turned out to be stolen – so I provided irrefutable proof of this to paypal and they told me that ‘on this occasion they couldnt find in my favour’. We will see about that.

if there is a straight line and you want to get it down not up then use gravity, you just rig up the kind of system they used in the old days of coal mining and canals – rope on a pulley connected to a sled or trolley of some kind, builders bag on top part filled with gravel in it, slide it down the hill with bit of help is necessary. Or even just your wheelbarrow jerry rigged. Fast down, easy up.

    Fully legally entitled

Now that is a heady phrase, like fully insured or the favourite of the dodgy driveway people – fully guaranteed. In reality there is no such thing as fully.

Forget watchdog, do you know anyone who ever got a car company to completely replace a new vehicle after delivery? I know a few who tried, and failed.

Unfortunately you have to make the most god awful fuss on a daily basis and stop being understanding about it.

I agree I’m just saying that ‘fault’ hasn’t really been proven just ‘It’s one of those things’ that these BB’s damage frames on occasion.

Could equally be the BB design at fault as the frame?

True but they designed a frame to use this BB, if OP didnt do anything wrong then luckily for him consumers generally get the benefit of doubt in these situations – manufacturer needs to show his design/manufacture wasnt defficientwas fit for purpose. Its not like a negligence claim where you have to positively ‘show’ the other party is at fault.

Looks to me like Hotlines are deffo in hot water on this one.

    FFS push the warranty

I still have the BB and it has worn carbon on the cups as proof that it is the original

This is good, but whatever you do be very careful about sending it to them because, from experience, such things can get ‘lost’ by the manufuacturer, and *poof* your proof dissapears into thin air. Take loads of photos of it, send these to hotlines (or if they want it sent to la-froggie get an email telling you to do this) to show them what they are getting and get them to acknowledge the photos then send it registered courier so they cant easily deny what they got and that they did got it.

My 8yr olds been on a 24″ spech hotrock full suss since she was 7, she’s exactly median on height, prefers it to her 20″ hotrock – when she bothers to ride it that is.

But if I was to do it again (which I will for my 2nd) it’ll be a hardtail hotrock with shokpost instead, much much lighter, and thinking 64’er with some old SIDs, just to be niche!

should be no difference in theory. I have noticed my rear RWS being loose a couple of times – not sure if its because of poor tightening or coming loose, but its a screw up not a clam QR type which personally I think helps take the stupidity factor (me) out of the equation. Susperstar is clam type….

Yes. Misunderstood is that standard dropouts are actually 9mm front & 10mm rear. I have 9mm RWS and 10mm RWS on a BFe. I bought 10mm B/T axle but I am told (from here) that you can drill out a standard pro2 rear QR axle to 10mm without too much trouble if you have one. Fronts I just drilled out the std QR adapters from the inside.

I purposely walk under ladders to prove its just hocus pocus.

I beleive this got codified – its called health and safety – a spanner, tin of paint etc landing on your head is not suspersition its serious injury – certainly without your hard hat on.

Many things we see as voodoo or religion actually have a historic useful reason and purpose we dont realise.

If you’d tried that tactic with me as a kid, you’d have wound up with me in Casualty. The last thing I wanted with food issues was attention.

Is this becuase apart from the hunger strike you would have climbed on the roof and started throwing tiles down?

    – Starvation

    – a really big runaround just before meal time to crash the blood sugar and he’s begging for food.

    – Cut out (and throw out) the sweets and snacks, except fresh fruit.

    – dont make dinner a battle, plus distraction my wife talks and jokes with them so they dont reaslie its being shovelled in

    – give him the worse option treatment. First offer a really bad option, then when they are really dreading that and protesting offer the thing you actually wanted them to do/eat. Jobs a goodun, they think they have got off lightly.

They have tried it on with 2 key things there

but apparently this does not count for the purposes of warranty.

If they offered a 2 yr warranty this is rubbish, there is no techicality on evidence of purchase, and it stands a proof of purchase for this purpose.

Jessops response was that I should have it independently assessed

Utter nonsense, only if you reject their assessment. If you accept their assessment then they are damned by it. I had a high st kitchen company try this – their own assessor said the kitchen was fubared and they tried this 3rd p inspection in desparation to try and wriggle out of their own damning report!

Forget Nikon, carefully fill out your N1 and send it to Jessop with a letter marked Letter Before Action and registered post to the Company Secretary (look up his/her name), give them 7 days to reply or issue in the small claims. Worked for me with Jessop, EasyJet, to name but a few.

BTW Jessop are fubared, ABN Amro bled them dry before floation they never recovered from that, their ability to survive is highly questionable regardless of Canon.

If they were left around, its best to put the transit bolts back in. they stop the concrete block wobbling around and potentially stressing hoses etc. I once knackered the sump hose like this.

Few years back we stayed in Grand Bornand (and Faine) and it was brilliant. Chair lift to top, baking hot fresh alpine meadows with cows with bells – all it needed wsa Heidi. Excellent muni swimming pool (with odd french rules about budgie smugglers and no tops).
I noted Les Gets getting ready all kid friendly last week too.

A decent day is to do one of the climbs AM, the other PM – logically Y Wal then Whites – after a legendary lunch at the Ponds Cafe.

If you are parked at the Ponds then Final Decent/Zigzag is a pain in the a**e distance back, albeit a ling gentle smooth ride.

Stop and admire the views, and the trees because they aint long for this world

Just make sure you do the Reims route not Paris. Went that way last week, did overnight stop at Dijon way down, way back left at 11am got to Calais roughly 8hrs later with a lunch stop @ 80 to 85 mph. Tolls are 60 odd quid each way.
Diesel is about 140 euro/l at supermarkets, 156 on peage. Make sure you brim it in Calais.
