    lolcad ?

bound to get some people stumbling onto your site looking for cats

    Surely LOLCADZ? :D

Google told me this “Apple wanted to distance itself from the cold, unapproachable, complicated imagery created by other computer companies at the time. They looked for a name that supported a brand positioning strategy that was to be perceived as simple, warm, human, approachable and different”

Seems to me you want to be promoting your ability for design innovation by differentiating your name in a similar way.

Maybe ‘Wheel’ doesn’t quite have the same cachet yet, but think Virgin, O2, and creative design agency names like Squeeze, Splendid and fourleaf etc etc.

I can see why they don’t count email sent via other means as “proof” – who has not thought about doctoring an email in their sent box before sending it on as “proof” you did something at such and such a time when you actually didn’t?

Yes, but only if we randomly introduce the assumption of fraud to the equation. But absent any denial by the buyer or proof to the contrary, generally we accept that such things are not fakes.

Boblo – with respect my opinion is centred in the law of this land, whereas yours is not but is your own view of perhaps what you think should be the case and which is not correct.

IIRC, there is probably a very strong case that the seller was absolved of all liability at the point that royal mail accepted the package, and since title in the item most likely transfered at the time of payment, lastly that the admin is almost certainly the buyers nominated agent, then actually all of you who think it is down to seller that it got lost are all completely wrong as a matter of law.

I can assure you that PP would not be taking that money off me.

I dont get this, how is it that you are going to get the mortgage? They are personal and dont come with the house.

But apprently PP said they do not take emails into account as evidence on a Disoute / Claim. So she said I have to try and get this guy to admit he sent me the wrong address on the Paypal Dispute discussion thread thing

100% tosh. Just because some PP minion told you this doesn’t mean it is true. The person you spoke to at PP CS is an untrained CS person so do not assume competence. Email was the mutually agreed/accepted form of communication, and he gave you express instruction of which address by email.
Remember just because someone tells it to you doesn’t necessarily mean they are correct or you have too/they can make you do it.

Sounds like you might have a Small Claim against the admin company

No you don’t. At the point that that package was delivered your relationship with that item ended.

That said – if I was you I would try and sweet talk the admin company, find the person who sent and ask them to send you an email confirming they (a) had muppet as a client at that address, and (b) that they posted that package back to your address, and (c) why they did this. I would tell them you need it for a royal mail claim or something.

Said mupppet may have a claim against admin company, esp. if they charged him (for sending a special delivery parcel by 2nd class post).

Pretty f*****g hard for PP or muppet to claim you have liability when no-one disputes it arrived and was afterwards lost by admin/royal mail AFTER DELIVERY.

Maybe time to get the people with a brain involved………

Samsung is basically S Korea plc is it not? They do everything from shipbuilding to pharmaceuticals. A quasi-national conglomerate like that must operate along different lines and principles to most other companies.

They are only one of chaebols, they are not at all nationalised but benefit from basically unlimited state underwriting.

Samsung are out to dominate the indusry and steal a big chunk of Apple’s market share. Apple have been very lucky (and smart) in the last decade or so, but they will have to move much quicker now – which they show every intention of doing – but will they be quick enough?

Posting it to an address other than one registered with PayPal isn’t going to help you.

………why should the buyer be out of pocket?

FFS its a worry that some people are let out in public unsupervised.

You have proof that it was delivered to the address which the buyer specified, and whaht a f****g half-wit he is. Now he wants you to pay for his stupidity.

I had a dispute with a seller for the same amount and despite the same kind of absolute proof, paypal ruled against me for spurious reasons. So I prepared a European Small Claim form against Paypal sarl in Luxembourg, which it turns out can be filed in your local court just like a normal small claim, and informed them of this. What do you know, they re-opened the case and ruled in my favour. Stick with it, and do not take no for an answer.

I just put stinger on my mojo to try and stop this – new chainrings, chain and cassette has me foxed but guess its the fabled mojo chainsuck. Anyway it had some pretty serious gouge damage that i just patched up with carbon tow, west epoxy and the insulating tape trick i learned on here. I have given the bike some punishment as it was so its obviously very strong.

the cassette has a really small PCD compared to crankset, thats why you need long cage -not number of teeth per se its the relatively large front diameter that takes so much chain. Long cage wont help, too much chain to slap about.
I reckon your problem is definitely its not set up right. Read the setup stuff online and start from scratch starting with chainline.
Dont get a clutch mech because that is 10sp and you have 9sp….

Standard qr dropouts are 9mm front (×100mm) and 10mm rear (135mm) – i.e. not 9mm both ends as is popular misconception.
On my Bfe i have 9mm front rws and 10mm rear rws bolt throughs both on pro2 . I just drilled out the front with a 9mm drill but back needed an axle although if you have a lathe you can just drill out the qr rear axle too. Pro2 evo use bigger bearings for back hub than pre-evo (pro2 had axle failures with 12mm rear bolt through axle because axle was too thin due to smaller id bearings) so i understand they use just end caps like front ergo i bet you can just drill out the std qr caps with 10mm drill depends what id spacer there is in there if there is one

I saw a 12v led roll on dx for about 35 quid. That and a leisure battery will last days probably. Car batts are not designed for deep cycle so might not last long, maybe. Or get a really high capacity bike light battery as its easy to take home to recharge and should give you couple of hours

Sell hardtail then youll have room to store fold away trailer. No need to thank me.

Seriously now…carbon is unsuitable for child seat clamps – ibis told me it would damage the frame when i asked them :o

Trading standards unlikely to be slightest bit interested.
It sounds like the screen was replaced and maybe its not the right one – but there is no fraud there and arnold clark couldn’t reasonably be assumed to have done anything wrong. However they do probably have a liability under sale of goods.
Call them and explain, also it could be that the other VW garage bloke is ‘misinformed’….

I would play them at their own game, tell them you have decided to pay the full cost if they deliver and you will pay cash on delivery.

When they arrive tell them just like they did, you changed your mind and you are not prepared to pay the 900, offer them anywhere between 550 and 900 as you choose or tell them they can take it back and put it back into their very expensive storage.

If you think the caravan is worth it then there is a deal to be done.

If you decide not to do this then when they send the transaction cancel request via ebay (only they can do it) refuse and lodge a default against them – they will loose their ebay fee of £50 for their trouble and you can leave negative feedback.

Bike sales are not driven by ‘need’, they are driven by ‘want’ = lifestyle/fashion choices.

Thus bike ‘development’ is driven by the necessity to keep changing the current fashion or ‘standard’ to create new wants in buyers.

No point is Spech trying to sell you another idential colour scheme hardtail stumpy with std steerer, 100mm travel, 25.4 bars and 8spd that is the same as the one you bought 3yrs ago and is all you need to tit around the woods when they can offer you a bright red, super-special carbon, 650b, 142 rear, 150mm travel, full susser with taper steerer and bolt though both ends.

12 – normal, but only just.

Mostly I was looking for the third answer – my own answer, not their inadequately formulated pi** poor choice of stock answer.

There would be no reason for anyone chosing anything less than 10sp if needing to buy a whole groupset IMHO.

Low-Normal, only do it in 9sp, so I won’t be going 10sp any time in the near future.

OK, things cleared up a little…

Not £15 out of pocket, they’d (oddly) refunded me £15 days after I placed the order. Seems even though I didn’t manage to get the “SAVE15” voucher, they still applied it anyway.

Right, all square as far as CRC are concerned. Still no Reverb though!

BFe – better bike, cheaper price and most riders are by far the weight limiting factor not the bike.

Find what quality stuff you want, then spend the next 3 months waiting for the right one on ebay and be realisitc about what yoou have to pay for the right one, and the right one close enough to be worth collecting. We have saved literally thousands doing that. Although for that I have journeyed far and wide to collect furniture bought by my wife, and you have to be prepared to drive an hour and a half to inform the seller with good grace that their solid oak sideboard is in fact veneered chipboard (you know genuine mistakes when they call you a liar or look at you like a rabbit in headlights – its the ones who casually say ‘oh ok’ that are the lying cheating scammers).

Matresses – always new every 5 years, top quality ones from high streeters in their annual sales. Research because the high street shops have slumberland et al rename their product just for them to stop you comparing price and quality!

You just strip off the old surface with a solvent then recoat with new stuff. Car seats can be colour changed this way and when leather cracks it is the surface treatment that has dried so the leather can be completely rejuvenated

They had an implied condition to deliver within a reasonable time if you asked for a refund then you asserred your right to rescind. That they refused for their own reasons is their problem not yours, they breached your rights. Time to send them an N1.

I removed (my) confier ‘hedge’ between gardens on a house I own and put up a fence. This freed up the not inconsiderable space on both sides where it use to grow…..then the architypal single mum council tenant neighbour told me I had to pay to re-turf her garden because this had left a big bare patch (in her un-careed for garden) and I had to sort it out. She even phone her housing team to try and tell them to make me do it. 8O

We had one of those not very long and not very complicated conversations about it

“You need help – but that won’t help the children who have been damaged for profit or the women who have been humiliated by having relations with animals and exposed to frankly unspeakable risks.

Of course, we all agree with the sentiment – but how come that doesnt apply to people who make guns and sell them for non-military use?

Most important are defining in as much detail in writing exactly what you are getting for what you are paying = specififcation
Plus agreeing how you will manage any changes or overs. It is contracting lore that changes are licence to print money.

Things overlooked are – when will he turn up, who will be working and when, when will he finish. get him to provide list of people/trades who should be working on site and when (and check they are competent/skilled) and define major milestones and dates they will be done by (schedule) plus try and include penalty for not finishing on time. Check slippage during the job and deal with it, make sure he supervises the job personally instead of putting his barely trained guys on it and leaving them to f****k it up.

Acceptance must be conditional on all building approvals – and consider a building surveyor to check it all for you at various stages and at the end.

    systematised methodology

we had someone write a book that tells us how to do it ….

for project and programme management of small, medium, large service re-design and implementation

…re-organising what you do, whatever size it is

Building in equality and risk impact assessments the options are taken through a process to arrive at the content for an output based specification and benefits foreseen as a result of the implementation

We just follow a load of checklists and this tell us what to write that makes it look like we did something useful

The service is inclusive of full engagement with Clinical Commissioning Groups who direct at decision-making points how they wish the proposal to be deployed (re-commmisson, de-commission or changes to current services/providers), and lastly an implementation team who see the service redesign through to evaluation and benefits realisation.”

We talk to End User groups for how they want it changed, then we send people to (a) change what the end users told them to change and then (b) make out it was all their idea and claim all the credit.

It the management consultants innit stupid.
