That’s not last minute. I’m going tomorrow, in an oversize vehicle.

Luckily my mate has an account and appears to have just got me £100 of the online price of the ferry.

Suspicious dog is suspicious though. I forsee mucho wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth in Dover tomorrow evening. Probably ending in me handing over mucho dosh to the man in the little booth.

I dismantled mine for a clean, before reading the instructions, and managed to loose one of the brass washers. So if anyone has a brass washer they can spare i’d be very very grateful??

OK so we can all do without the unnecessary rant etc. I might be a nobber but then so are those with their own nobby comments assuming that I had problem navigating round him, I abused him as I passed, I wasn’t as considerate as I could possibly be, blah blah blah

This guy used to work opposite our office when this happened http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-17512797 he was riding the A40.

Today it was not me but the nervous old dear in the small car who misjudged it and ended up suddenly braking behind him, which caught out the impatient tipper truck driver behind her who hadn’t spotted him and was too close and too fast.

I’ve seen too many deaths on the road, I don’t want to see any more and actually just want everyone to be safe, and no not locked up for wearing the wrong attire.

From symptoms i’d say bearings. Change BB and pedals and see if it goes away, that or if you are FS it could be rear triangle bearings from the pedalling bob.

May I suggest – get some thermal screens for the cab windows. Also get some bike bags so when you bunk up you can put frames in the cab and only have to risk leaving wheels chained up outside.

You of course mean ally bars and a plumbing pipe cutter. Probably will work, as long as it a good quality cutter with a decent hardened steel wheel, the copper its designed for is a lot softer and thinner walled. Assuming you do it slowly the worst is likely to be a damaged wheel if its made of yamaha/shimano chocolate steel

Not yet but busy trying to be, fed up working for the man in a soul destroying role, want something stimulating where its up to me to make it happen but I have an interest in the result, and something I am proud of.

The trick I use with companies – and it is 100% effective so far – is to download and fill out the N1, then send it to them with a letter titled ‘letter before action’, telling them because they refuse to be reasonable and cooperate it is end of the line so pay up or you will have no other choice but be forced issue the claim, which will be filed in 7 days with no further notice. Emphasise the ‘unreasonable’, and ‘forced to take action’ etc etc. In the claim add 150 or so for costs, cost of issuing and also interest at the judicial rate (iirc still 8%) helps to make it look costly if they don’t respond.

Can’t help but reminds me, we stayed at bottom of lac Annecy where parascenders land, used to take kids to see and it was the form to clap a happy landing.
Stopped on way home at site an hour from Calais. Shocking weather set in and as we walked back from eating chap nearby struggling to setup in the wind. His tent blew off and eventually he caught it and pinned it down, to which kids suddenly started clapping with vigour! Oh the looks we got as me and missus couldn’t help pissing ourselves!

37 years on I can look back at a reasonable level of success, however I wouldn’t recommend it to my kids. Far better to get a degree in Law or medicine etc and be virtually guaranteed a good lifestyle for the rest of your life.

Doesnt guarantee a goood lifestyle – can be a good income, but that can be and often is the opposite of what I’d call a good lifestyle.

Interesting isn’t, the last thing I want is my kids to follow me into a profession.

As quick as something that needs reheating?

Chicken Fajitas – strips of chicken and onion, mix in oil and packet fajita spices, fry for 3 minutes, serve with tortillias, grated cheese, sour cream, tomato salsa and stuff like lettuce or pepper or anything they will eat/you have lying around.

Doesn’t help but reminds me of the story back in the day that John Fashanu lent Vinny Jones his pride and joy Audi Quattro. Jones of course stacked it and was in right panic to get it rebuilt before Fash came back from hols.

I heard a neurologist on R4 recently said they have done initial basic trials which appear to show that only a few mins on oxygen gets rid of migrane immediately. apparently it was 100% successful, but test wasn’t a clinical trial, they need funding to do proper research.
imigran for me, shhh, dont tell anyone im not in my 30s anymore….

What is says is one thing, what it means is quite another, esp. property and estates in France. You may make a big mistake if you assume your english law understanding translates to the French civil code. Get some advice from one of the specilaist french law lawyers who advertise to the expat community.

I uhmmed and ahhhed loads which one then got a bit of a bargain 10 ‘second user’ from here, and i’m soooo glad. The solidness is my main plus, though I’d get something different if I was moving it about or had to put it away.
My tip is that I will be ordering the tool/parts tray thingy that clips onto it.

Have you spoken to the finance company? I’ve had to use them in the past to give a dealer a boot up the arse.

BMW Finance giving BMW Gmbh a KUTA? Now think about that for a moment…

If you want to do something about it them you need to start formalising it, they have a reasonable time to fix it, tell them you are giving them 7 days more to sort it out then you want your money back – the Finance company that is, that is who your contract is with.

However, be careful what you wish for, they may decide to give your money back and you will have lost your (presumably) good deal of a 500miler.
