I have a Brand X dropper on my Bizango, routed through the grommet on bottom of seat tube and then under the BB and up the downtube, works a treat and cables are unobtrusive, revelation for so much more control rather than the seat stuck up your arse throwing you over the bars. Have been riding my old On One Inbred at Bedgebury for last couple of weeks (blew the Raidon’s up….Halfords had them back to me in 10 days!) and found it absolutely horrid in comparison to the 29er and Voodoo geo, glad things have moved on.
Sugar2Free MemberThe dick heads I have had the pleasure of meeting on the trail at a purpose built FC trail centre in the last few weeks, chap riding his bike with two dogs off the lead, chap walking on the trail on a blind full tilt corner, chap in running gear running the wrong way round the trail, can’t fathom it personally. Oh and the cherry on the cake I got overtaken by a lardarse on his e-bike on one of the uphill sections
Sugar2Free MemberI actually really like Bedgebury, the more I ride and know it the more I have enjoyed it, it’s been dry this year and the trail is in very good condition even after the recent down pours it has shed water well…..twice round has been a good workout both in technical and cardiac terms for me; the Bizango feels in it’s element. Was odd after a road bike for so long to get back on the dirt…..love it though.
I prefer the South Downs as natural terrain rather than Trail Centres has always been my thing, now doing 25-40 mile rides as bought a Garmin 820 and have used it to navigate many gpx routes and save for a few issues it has been a great way to get a good ride in on unknown routes and areas.
I started off on HTs and cantilever brakes in 1989 in the Peak District (!) and went on to FS when they arrived, V brakes, discs et al. I like the simplicity and look of a HT but have had to pick my lines at times…however 29″ wheels and dropper post are simply revolutionary for me as are the new frame angles, short stem, 1x drive and Maxxis tyres!
I am used to spending a wad on my road bikes, but I am blown away at how the Bizango rides for such a modest outlay, it has truly blown me away and I have had a fair few HTs back in time, SWorks M2, M4’s, Enduro’s, Giant’s, On One Inbred, Cannondale’s etc.
Sugar2Free MemberJust did the same thing, after 12 years solely on the road, I have purchased a 2018 Voodoo Bizango, absolutely superb had it since June and I am really impressed with it, a fantastic bike well specced 1x 11 speed drivechain, a frame designed by Joe Murray, Boost’d..29″ wheels, bolt through axle and a decent Raidon 120mm fork, I have ridden it a lot it has been brilliant at Bedgebury and I have used it for a couple of laps twice a week, trips to the South Downs have been fantastic to experience again and I just got back from the Surrey Hills after a couple of days riding, the bike has been faultless, a tad heavy and not a pure XC, more ‘trail’ orientated, I am well chuffed and for £500 I paid interest free too, it whipped everything else in the MBR £750 hardtail of the year. I have stuck a BrandX dropper and a new set of grips on it, Job done awesome bike.
I am in T Wells Town Centre too and up for a ride as and when
Sugar2Free MemberIs it me or are CRC's prices not as competitive as they were and their delivery is slower, used to be next day but now 1-3 days on average? I give 'em a miss more often than not now as they are just so expensive with a few % off of rrp
Sugar2Free MemberSome women are self conscious about bigger internal labia…I myself am quite partial! :D
Sugar2Free MemberOn a mtb I have duct taped them or put a piece of inner tube between the tyre wall and tube. Have also glued them. Just keep an eye on it will give out after a while just when…hopefully not on a desolete night ride!
Road bike tyre no way ever!
Sugar2Free MemberApparrently well according to The Sunday Times putting a flat screen above a fireplace is a faux-pas and a complete no-no? So it said?!
Sugar2Free Member2nd the above post! Did one at the IoE in London 6 years ago hardest thing I have done academically in my life (had been out of education for 11 years!) it was tough working, studying and the pressure of a 15K word assignment! One of my training schools was a living hell in London village.
6 years down the line I am still teaching although that was not the plan and I love it more as the months and years pass! Go for it!
NQT year is tough too!
I don't swallow the government bullshit either, mind you I don't want promotion, I am happy doing what management seem to run away from : teaching and engaging with young people!
Sugar2Free MemberHave to say I am sick of not being given enough space when cars overtake have to say IME it is old, female and BMW, Audi and Merc drivers or all three!
Sugar2Free Membercommute 3 days a week
4/5 road rides avg 15-70 miles per ride
Just got back into MTBing after obsessing on the road for 18months so 2/3 MTB rides a week (bought some lights for evening frivolity)Went out after work for a 20 mile road ride won't be going out at 1600hrs again, nearly copped it about 4 times **** commuter car drivers and country lanes = casualty dept! :|
Sugar2Free MemberBeen there last 10 years, still love it, still finding new stuff, but then I do the All Mountain rather than the same track/run everyday all day like some of the DH boyz. Have heard that the other resorts are catching on and have some great stuff, Portes de Soleil needs to continue making runs and maintaining those they have got, which unfortunately they tend not to do
Sugar2Free Member£250K!!!!!!!!!! for that….with that eyesore up close and personal. No thanks, but then I am disgusted of T Wells.
Sugar2Free MemberNo you do not pay extra for BluRay, however you hardly ever get them sent; I never seemed to get the actual top titles I wanted, just the ones I had padded my 'wants' out with. Got a 3 month and a month free, then paid for two months….could't be bothered in the end.

Colnago C40 (yummy)Sugar2Free MemberBeen going to Morzine for 10 years now (had V brakes the first year, what fun!), out again on 22nd for a few weeks, love it. More All Mountain these days with big XC rides and big downhills . Try to stay away from the downhill courses these days , with people on a conveyer belt all day long on the same course, have to say they are fun but how boring? S’pose what ever floats your boat.
Sugar2Free MemberOk cool, will give them a go. Have to praise Fox air shocks it has taken an absolute pounding and kept going!
Sugar2Free MemberI have a C40 running 10 speed Campag drive chain and shifters (Chorus) and a set of Ksyriums SSC SLs with a Shimano Ultegra 12-27 block and I use a JTek thingy and it works damn fine.
Just make sure you change the shift cables when you fit it. The reason I fitted a Jtek was the Mavic M10 cassettes cost an arm and a leg and Campag cassettes did not have the ratio for my my 53/39 set-up in hilly areas, I like to spin.
If you go to their site they do mix and match combinations of the top 3 to cater for all eventualities.
Jtek :D
Sugar2Free MemberOvercoming- roadie but a goodie
Flying Scotsman- Obree max respect
Sugar2Free MemberDoes this upgrade over satellite or via the phone? I don’t have my HD box plugged in!
Sugar2Free MemberThe Oregon 300 looks good with Topo UK OS mapping for £260! £12 handlebar mounting….decisions.
Sugar2Free MemberYes some good ideas have a Nokia with GPS pn it so could use that I guess. Rolling OS maps sound a great idea though. Anyone know which models I should look at?
Sugar2Free MemberIn my 5th year teaching History and sometimes Citizenship.
Great work life balance for cycling, skiing and time with my family.
Have more good days than bad, few idiot kids as I teach 11-16yr old boys but on the whole it is good fun and when you hit the learning ‘nerve’ it is awesome. Finish at 3 out on my bike at 1535hrs!!!! Good worthy job which has feelgood and job satisfaction in abundance.
Sugar2Free MemberI had this problem with a set had side to side play in the cartridge
Sugar2Free MemberI posted one like this recently and got recc. oxy clean stuff from vanish in the pink fluo tub, have been using it and it works my kit pongs less for longer!
Sugar2Free MemberI have a pair have found then super stiff and really comfortable and for the price a good deal, so much so I have a road pair for my road bike as well at £33 they are a steal.
Sugar2Free MemberYes forget it if it rains GLOOP! I have been riding it 0630hrs on Saturday mornings has been frosty so been lovely, well it’s tame but as a traffic, horse and walker free off road environment it is rather a nice change here in the SE. Combining the Bewl route and Bedgebury is ‘nice’ as well.
Sugar2Free MemberNear to me as I am in Tunbridge Wells, I do some road rides around there and often see MTBers in the morning skulking about, never been tempted to take my MTB there (may do so now) prefer the 9mile ish blat around Bedgebury early in the morning though before the place gets silly and overcrowded.
Sugar2Free MemberI did a 20mile detour home on my Bianchi last evensong, was lovely in the sun birds chirping, great and about time too.
Sugar2Free MemberI am in my Ivory Tower on this issue and I worked hard to climb it! No amount of targets for these people would do it, they do not have the same success citeria or motivation in life with limited aspirations etc. Education that is where it’s at….oh and bombing Iceland (Supermarche not the sovreign nation!)
Sugar2Free MemberIt is in their genes?! Yes right mate, I have several ideas but they are not palatable for this forum…..
Sugar2Free MemberI think British society is in meltdown, possibly like the OP stated reverse evolution.
Certain sections of society appear to be booming that is the sub-class. I witness them each Mon and Tues when I look after my child, lumbering along the streets in the Town Centre: fat, no manners, smoking, delinquent kids, no respect, cramming their fat faces with more junk food etc.
We are becoming a nation of fat b’stards dressed in an aray of badly fitting sports attire (oh the irony), been to the airport recently (good way of seeing the cream of the UK ready to jet off for 2 weeks of even greater over indulgence) I fly a lot and my god, it is embarrassing what the British adorn themselves with.
I despair with this place and think the Government’s social engineering (meddling) based policies have been somewhat of a fiasco…….btw (biggest personal annoyance) the roads in my area are a joke like that of a developing country (annoys me as I am into road biking), I guess all my taxes and yours prop up the Family Tax credits, benefit, social services and surgical procedures stemming from people who take no responsibility for their own health, diet or lifestyle.
Sugar2Free MemberI was doing my bit for the environment!
Ok so it will be a 60 degree wash and some Oxy. My kit pongs to high heaven.
