AS my dear old gran used to say,

If you plan on making a rather pointless point like that, at least have the decency to use the English language correctly.

    A pointless point?

Tank slap on a pushbike is often caused by a loose headset…

Edit: JUst read Sheldon’s dismissal of this as an old wives’ tale; he’s wrong.
    Again.

It is a crime to buy the imported stuff while English asparagus is in season.

Damn right ! Cook it any way you like. It’ll taste like string compared to English Asparagus picked the same day/hour.

The best ISIS bottom brackets are SKF. Apparently they last forever, and fodling one (and sniffing it) I can believe it. I had one sent over from Germany , £40 ish all in.

You should be bleeding them bottom to top. Squirt the fluid into the caliper, suck it back a bit, squirt it back in, repeat until bored.

Measure the chainstay length, plug it in to the calculator, and see what ratio is similar to your present one. It’s not rocket science.

Not for the pukka climb mt everest/wade the darian gap offroading, but perfectly capable ofmore than you think, including pulling “proper” 4wds out of the ditch in the snow.
Cheaper to run, and the most comfy seats you’ll find anywhere.

USPS (not UPS) Global Priority is the way to go. I’ve had a few large frames sent over and even a whole bike split into two boxes. A frame should cost about $50-60, and the bike was $130 inc insurance. It is vital , though, that the frame is packed as small as possible. an inch too big and the price can double!
Check the USPS site for size limits.
It is possible to insure the frame using this service but it is not tracked – something the sender might baulk at. Some are game, some aren’t.
Allow another 20% for customs duty this end. It might slip through, but probably won’t.
It may take 2 or 3 weeks to get here, but I know of one instance where a frame arrived the next day!

Singlespeed is made for dog walking!

It’s not like it’s the only place for dog walking in the area either, and it is really only accesable by car. There are far better dog walking/riding/cycling area locally too.
The MOD estates people have been ranting and raving at those straying from the footpaths and bridleways for at least 20 years; it’s nothing new.

There are click stops on the older ones, but they “click” due to two small balls being forced into the corners of a hexagon by a spring. When DIY serviced, they fall out and roll under the boiler/ washing machine/workbench.
Contact Dave at Magura sevice UK, on 07773453681. He’s very helpful.
The plastic block may be similar to Fox’s air chamber tuning blocks.

The early ones had a shorter piston, giving a more linear stroke. Later ones , ’08 onward had a taller piston, ramping up the pressure towards the end of the stroke. You can achieve the same by putting up to 23cc of Fox Fluid or similar in the air chamber.

“Maintenance, of late” is not maintenance; it is remedial work. Maintenance is continuous from day one.

So let’s see, a new one from Dialled is £295. Possibly cheaper elsewhere. Second hand value in good condition might be £100.
Repair is, say, £40, a half decent powdercoat £60, and decals £20. Not to mention the time and hassle.

I have to agree, they’re the cutest critters ever!
I saw one in the garden the other day – the first live one I’ve seen since I were a lad- then my Jack Russell got hold of one the next day, and I’ve since seen several flat ones…
Is it something to do with our lovely summer?

Yup, a bit of rubber up the arse works wonders!
Build the mutt up slowly. My Fell terrier was capable of 2 hours+ a year ago, but due to my health problems he’s out of shape. 45 mins max, now, and he’s shagged…
Don’t forget the dog’s paws. Round here it’s mainly sand, so rocks and suchlike would cut his feet to ribbons in no time. Shandy lad!

What’s leaking? If it’s the wiper seals, fit some Fox ones from Mojo. Much less mess on the stanchions.

Stillettos give it a bit of Patina. The floor a The Royal Festival Hall was beautiful for this reason. 50 years of wear, but waxed every morning; lovely!

Go to the doctor. You may well be developing Angina. I suffered from a variety known as “Warm up” Angina, where initial exertion causes tightness/pain across the chest/throat/arm, but once warmed up the pain subsides. This, despite being fitter than a butchers dog all my life.
Get it checked out. The NHS treat chest pains very seriously, and should check you out pretty quickly.

Solid Oak? £26 a sq metre? Was it by any chance “Rustic” or “Character” grade?
