    Aah…
His typing left handed would help explain the spelling errors that turn half his posts into utter gibberish.

    The other half? Well…

A Ritchey P22 Team. Fillet brazed by Tom himself, one of about 40 made. Not your run of the mill tigged frames…
I’ve had some nice bikes in my time but this was extra special.
Shame it was way too small for me.

that they would only be allowed to borrow £5k less than we’d agreed on.

Jog on. Go find the £5k.

Each has their own benefits. Most have a trading fee of about a tenner, though Charles Stanley allows you to trade FUNDS for free.
Most charge a holding fee for funds. AJ Bell charges 0.2% pa, and Charles Stanley 0.25%.

Hargreaves Lansdowne charges 0.45% (I think) for funds but holds shares and trusts (but not funds) for free. Their service and website are probably the best though.

TD Direct I haven’t used but I think (being Dutch) they have access to more european markets than most. They’ll also transfer in certificated stocks for a fiver, which ain’t bad!

I use Charles Stanley for funds, AJ Bell for speculative trading and SIPPs, and HL for everything else. I have ISAs in each. With SIPPs, don’t just check the holding/trading fees, but the exit fees too.
You may find that some funds are cheaper to buy and run through these “supermarkets” than directly from the asset manager.

I’m in the process of selling my mums house and whilst we provisionally accepted an offer I wouldn’t take it formally off the market until the buyer had an AiP.

What would you do with a cash buyer?
There are many reasons why a sale could fall through with lack of finance being just one.
We took ours off the market for a cash buyer. Sometimes you just have to trust people. Old fashioned I know. It took a little longer than anticipated but came good in the end.

It amazes me that there is no ombudsman responsible for what is far and away nearly everyone’s largest purchase. A voluntary association doesn’t really cut it…

I’m looking to buy at my leisure, as we are renting for a while when we complete on our sale next week. I’m not expecting prices to get much cheaper for a while, if at all.
There’s one hell of a glut of £1m+ houses though, not that I’m looking in that range…

Simply can’t work like that-the buyer must be financially qualified before an offer can be ‘formally’ put forward.

The EA can advise of offers and you can say yes to them but before they put the sale to STC they need to FQ the buyer.

Bullshit. It’s not up to the EA to decide who and who can’t offer on a property, unless the vendor has given them that authority. It is up to them to advise the vendor of all and any offers recieved and the status of the buyer. It is then up to the vendor to decide whether they wish to accept offers from buyers yet to have a MIP, having a MIP, Cash buyers or whatever.
I’d be pretty pissed off if my agent took it on themselves to filter offers in this way, and as a buyer I’d be very pissed off if an agent demanded I speak to their mortgage fella before forwarding my offer.

Ask the owners. It’s their dog and it may be a problem they have solved with a toy bunny or suchlike.

at first it was shocking to see, but eventually you get used to seeing it happen and get to predict the start,

If you’re not emotionally attached it may get easier, but not if it’s your nearest and dearest. The missus had grand mals for 15years+, 4 or 5 a year, and seeing her convulsing remained the scariest thing I’ve seen. For her it became a minor inconvenience. The drugs, though, made her very sleepy, especially Phenetoin.

I hpe they find out what caused your wife’s, Ton. There are so many possibilities.
My missus picked up a tapeworm in Central America, which layed a few dozen eggs in her brain. They took about 15 years to stop causing mischief, after which she was fit free for ten years.
Think about it too much and you’ll worry yourself sick.
    Good luck! I bet she’s aching…

How can it be Great Britain or even Britain again if Scotland leave ?

We could call it “Greater Britain”, as in the larger part of Britain.
It would probably rub ’em up the wrong way, but so what?

If you were pushed out of a moving car would your first thought be for the other occupants still safely strapped in?

No, but I’d be looking out for the juggernaut bearing down on me.
You prove my point perfectly! We weren’t pushed; we jumped!

    You won’t be alone!
Having just sold my house, I’ll now looking for the perfect pile of stones to rebuild somewhere in the mountains, but I think Europe will be getting increasingly unstable- scarily so- and in five years may be well and truly fecked!

    Aygo/c1/107 lots of fun.

Is the Aygo exactly the same as the C1? If so I apologise profusedly!

The Mrs’s C1 is enormous fun to drive on the lanes. She won’t let me drive it now…

Check the price of new front bottom arms (complete with new bushes and joints); nothing makes a car feel young again quite like new bushes!

The OP should learn to read dogs’ body language, both his pup’s and others’.
No lead- good doggie; on lead- bad doggie is a bit simplistic.
If in doubt talk to the dog. He may be more intelligent than the owner. If you sound friendly, he’ll be reassured and feel less threatrened by you or your dog.
This is also important when cycling, not only with dogs, but horses too.
    Communication is key.
