I use stock cubes in Leek & Potato (five green OXO cubes to a litre of soup). Extra salt on top of those is just unnecessary (and if you’re putting it in in handfuls then either you’re doing something wrong or

    5 stock cubes?

    No added salt needed.

I’ve had this problem with cotton T shirts, Fleeces etc. Tried everything, even moving house and using a new washing machine.
Using Ecover non Bio which has a neutral smell. Tried some Fairy I found at the back of the cupboard. Smelt like a tart’s boudoir.
Bio may be the way forward…

Funny, it’s only my stuff, not the missus’s or daughter’s…

Cracks in walls in a Victorian terrace…?
Our first house was a victorian terrace in Aldershot, parallel to the railway line. Half the street was bombed out during the war. The rest of it had jumped up and off their foundations. The bathrroom and kitchen, at the back, had a crack ground to rafters you could get your hand in. Our surveyor, a friend, described it as a flesh wound and recommended stitching it up with slate. Two weekends work, good as new!
    Where are your cracks?

And strangely he beat a GB bidder that also seems to have bid 1900, so I don’t see how that works!

    Simple. He bid first.

If you only want UK bidders to bid, why don’t you set that parameter when creating the listing? It will automatically block overseas bids.

Im wondering if anyone posting here actually has a french car or is just regourgetating old stereotypes.

Have run french cars for 10years now …mostly the same 1 with a couple of older models as a second car.

Had about a dozen Citroens and a pug 205 over the years. Only one ever let me down; a BX with a sheared hydro pulley. It was the subject of a recall but I let me mate weld it up instead…
Tried returning to Citroen a couple of years ago with a Berlingo, but it was truly hateful. Peugeot milked their 205 reputation for all it was worth and steadily lost the plot while killing off the Citroen eccentricities.
A return to form though with the missus’s C1- a lovely little car. I might be tempted by a C2 for some cheap fun…

Lower interest rates good for mortgages, not so much for retirees although that deoends how much they have in cash vs shares and other investments.

You’re losing your grip on reality fella; how many pensioners have substantial holdings in shares or other investments?

3 months would be a quick one. It all depends on the size of the estate, complexity, and the ability/enthusiasm of the executor(s).

I do find myself a little confused here – has probate been granted yet? From my own experience, probate can be a long-winded affair, and in any case, if the executor(s) have not been granted probate, they do not have any right to administer the estate. Until a grant of probate is obtained, they don’t control the assets of the estate, in which case they really aren’t in a position to sell, surely?

The executors can market the house before probate, and do all the searches etc, but contracts cannot be exchanged until probate is granted. Hence the possibility of a long wait.
The EA may think there are no problems with probate but they know sweet FA about the rest of the estate and the problems that may be thrown up.

I’m assured by the EA (!) that probate won’t be an issue

How the hell do they know?

and there is only one family member as executor.

That’s not unusual, even when there are many beneficiaries. It’s worth checking the will for potential family squabbles and bust ups. It is a public document once probate has been obtained. The executor may find themselves under intense family pressure and simply do nothing…

As a buyer you have to decide whether thats enough and balance the risks.

    Precisely!

Find out from the Land Registry who owned the property and if Probate has been granted, buy a copy of the will for a tenner. See who the beneficiaries are. If it’s just a close relative, frixample, then fine, but if there are distant family members who’ve emerged out of the woodwork then forget it; they’ll never agree.
If Probate hasn’t been granted yet then you could be in for a wait…

We put an offer in on one earlier this summer. Declined but EA suggested asking price would clinch it. Having achieved asking price the executors/beneficiaries decided it was worth more so upped the asking price, three weeks before the referendum.
It’s still for sale at a now reduced price while the council have decided there’s room on the local airfield for another couple of thousand new houses, so probably ten years of building instead of five…

Get it done properly. Solicitors make far more money sorting out arguements caused by poorly worded wills than they do from writing wills.

But as said, don’t appoint them as Executors. Your executors can take their advice if needed.

I wondered how long this would take to come up. In reality I check the tyres very regularly but as they wore on the inside edge and there is very little clearance on the wheel arches it was very difficult to see without getting under the car.

More to the point, how has the Audi dealer, who presumably services the car, not advised you , in 3 years, that your tyres are wearing abnormally, unless it’s a recent issue. Uneven wear would have been apparent long before they were worn to the cords.

My money’s on the speed bumbps being the cause.
