(and I was ferrying my 87 year old granny about so we were crawling along the motorway at slug pace)

    Why?

The missus manages over 70mpg in her Citroen C1.
    I don’t.

As for Cars, Estates, but bear in mind, young kids have so much crap that goes with them.

It’s the parents that take the crap, not the kids. Most of it is completely unnecessary.

Coming back in from work at lunch time and falling a sleep in the chair after lunch for half an hour.

Having a “the chair” says it all!

Funnily enough I started thinking this morning about chopping in my high powered BMW for a Volvo xc90 with heated seats and windscreen as my car was like a block of ice. Decided there was no point in 300bhp as the roads are too congested.

That is Wisdom, not middle age!
    You are ready, Grasshopper.

He wont make the same mistake again

    One would hope.

When I was a lad the chap over the road was a Porsche addict. His tally was over ten written off before he “finally got the hang of them” and bought a lightweight RSR…

As a side note I gather there’s a lot of landlords who aren’t aware of what’s happening next April so you may find a big increase in properties on the market next year – and with BTL being slowly killed by gvnmnt you’ll likely find few BTL buyers so I’d be getting the place shifted asap…

    Before that.
There will be a few first time “landlords” confronting the full extent of their tax liability come the end of January and wondering whether btl is indeed a golden goose…

I don’t think a buyer will get mortgage approval with tenants in situ. Without vacant possession you may be limiting your market to cash buyers only.

Ti is light and by far the most comfortable to ride. It has much more soul compared to plastic, alu and even steel.

You haven’t had a good steel bike then!

You might want to delete the address from that post…

Don’t go for the cheapest tut from B&Q. Get some semi decent stuff. The last thing you want with a BTL is to go back on a Saturday night to sort some minor problem. Do it properly, Fit and forget!

Don’t get fancy. Solid basic stuff that works is best.

Way, Way too much walking for a 21 week old dog and your dog shouldnt go near a bike until it is 1.

Concentrate on training it properly for the next 6-8 months and you will have a healthy, happy dog. Carry on like this and the dog will pay for it in later life.

Just had a look at Hargreaves Lansdown, you could have a SIPP with them, with everything in a Vanguard FTSE All Share tracker, for 0.53%, all in.

Although you’d be daft to put it all in a FTSE tracker. Spread the risk amongst other funds, US, Japan, India, Europe, Healthcare, etc, etc.

Ever Ready or Duracell, available just about anywhere. My 3 sets of 6 year old batteries are still going strong, having been used constantly, in rotation, in radios, torches, milf frothers, etc.

Is this the first time this has happened to you? You can probably count yourself lucky!
Be pragmatic. The client seems to think the bill is too high. Discuss it with them and knock 10% off (No need to go to 50%; something is usually enough!) if paid within a week. Then move on. It’s not a lot of money in the scheme of things and not worthy of losing any sleep over.
Think about future dealings with them at your leisure.

Lake 146 for wet but mild, or 303s for very cold weather. Standard fitting or wide if you have flippers. Nothing else I’ve tried even comes close.
    Available online from Halfords.

Are there any decent jackets to be had without a hood? If I want to keep my head warm/dry I wear a **** hat! Don’t want a peaked hood flapping about, thanks.
    Any suggestions?

You don’t have to go through insurance, many people don’t.

You don’t have to go through your insurance but come renewal time if you answer no to “any accidents in the last five years” you are committing fraud.

Would you, Jamba, be able to carry on your job if convicted of fraud?

It’s unlikely one would ever get found out, but is it a risk worth taking for a couple of hundred quid? The OP’s missus’s premiums would go up a bit for a while but the other lady would take the real hit. That’s her problem. She might learn to look where she’s going. Could be a baby Robin next time.

It’s strange because I had bree and cranberry paninis for my dinner but balanced it out with chips and corned beef for my supper.

What did you have for your Tea?
