I think i proved i cant multitask, trying to type, think and talk to the wife led me to that mistake! better not talk to her again.
The only decals On One have are for the 456, and they are huge, so no good for my frame, so its going to be stripped and re-laquered properly i think.
stylishFree Memberit was a pvc tape, not heli tape, i know better to try and remove that!
just wanted it off so i could see the logo again……..
stylishFree MemberGo careful with heli tape, i put a bit on the top tube to protect it when i placed my light battery on for a ride on Tuesday, and when i removed the tape it took the laquer and the on one logo off, and true to form On One were about as helpful as our local council, 2 months old and now its looking rough…………..
stylishFree Memberpanel comes off the front, some heaters have a cover over the bricks, and carefully remove them, try not to damage them, and dont drop one on your foot, they can be chuffin heavy…….
stylishFree MemberIts hard to say really, as the way the car develops downforce has changed alot, the floors are alot different now to when the FW15 was on track, wings are smaller (Rear). if you look back to the active suspension cars of that era, i would imagine damper technology is more advanced now than back then too.
I like to judge it by historic cars, take a 1960″s formula junior, (single seater 1000cc engine) they now develop more power than in period, run modern dampers, and tires with modern construction, thus making them alot faster now.
stylishFree Membergive her time, do little things to make her smile and just let her be, if that is no good, buy her some gin and bugger off into the shed to mend your bike………
stylishFree MemberAs the proud owner of a black one i do like the red/white colours, but they seem to be everywhere now, so i like having the rare colour!

stylishFree MemberAfter reading this the other night, i took the plubge and got an Edwin Jagger Razor, it turned up yesterday and this morning it was used, and it was very good, it came with derby blades so i will at some point try some more, but they seemed ok, its given me a good shave, and i didnt end up looking like i had scrubbed my face with a handful of brambles.
The wife was impressed aswell, although she thinks i am having a mid life crisis!
stylishFree MemberHow about just flick over to “Dave” and moan about top gear all over again?
stylishFree MemberI never have liked the mower trail, although we usually go up it not down, 4 laps and 4 totally different lines, dont think i did a nice run through it the whole race!
Still for flat old Norfolk, Paul and his team always find some cracking bits of forest to hold a race.
stylishFree Memberi think that was the best course of the series, was 34th in the 2 hour, so just in front of dan67, had to go round a pile up in front of me at the start, then another on the narrow fire road, was quite relieved to get to the first big turn! hope all those that hit the deck were ok, got caught in the hail storm after my race while doing bottles for a mate in the 4 hour, he looked like he had been rolling in the mud at the end!
stylishFree MemberNot so much as a reply, let alone we are out of atock of your choice…
stylishFree MemberMy beloved little girl was practicing writing her name one night, and bless her she got it wrong so scribbled it out, and had another go, which was correct, at the time this was going on i knew nothing about it, but i did when the wife came in the lounge and woke me up, as she had been writing on the back of the sofa while i was asleep on it! the missus lost it big time, and i just lay there laughing like a fool, not the best thing to do in the circumstances.
Another time while out on the bike i get a phone call from a hysterical wife, thinking the worst, i rode home faster than ever, to find the boy looking very sheepish, and the missus in a slight grump, it would seem he was practicing his cricket bowling in the back garden, and managed to break the patio window with a stone, i was very calm, and relaxed, and that really wound her up!
stylishFree Member36 would be a safe bet, keep thinking about it myself, i often find that unless i am climbing out of one of the many bomo holes, i only really use the bottom 5 gears on the cassette.
there is a shop in Bury st Edmunds that has the MRP guide in stock,
and i think they are in the sale too! (Revel Outdoors)stylishFree MemberM12nte,
been running 1×9 round Thetford for about a year now, firstly on my Cube with an MRP 1x guide, and then more recently been using the plastic part of the MRP with a home made mount on my On On whippet, never had any problems with the chain coming off, or getting jammed, and as Thetford is flat, you can get away with running a 38 chainring with an 11/34 cassette.stylishFree Memberi suppose another test is what the teams will want, but i would imagine alot of kit and the tires have already been shipped ready for the now cancelled race.
stylishFree MemberSnow Drops in the front garden, and Daffs in the back, all ready for march 1st……..Welsh wife and all that….
stylishFree MemberDont bother with the black, its really cut up, the red is ok, and in pretty good shape, as the team from Timber have been doing lots of work on it lately, as for riding it, have a look at the Timber website and the Thetfordmtbracing one to see if anyone is out on Sunday who could show you round, if not there is nearly always groups of locals in the car park at Brandon Country Park leaving between 9 and 10 in the morning.
stylishFree MemberMy daughter who is only 6 announced she had a boyfriend today and loves football, now i am worried, granted he is a nice lad, we are friends with his parents and go out socially, but FOOTBALL! is it too late to have her adopted?????????/
stylishFree MemberStevo210,
dont bother using tubeless versions of the tire, the ones you have will be fine, you can mount them tubeless with either a rim strip or the stans yellow tape and some sealant.stylishFree Memberhaving a nightmare posting a pic, but my new build whippet is on page 2 of the post above………..
stylishFree MemberAs a norfolk lad from just outside of Norwich, i have often wondered about Mousehold Heath, will have to take a look on the bike one day, and see what its like.
i notice that the suffolk dwellers have turned up on a thread about Norwich! which is nice in a way, as i havent ever met one who can read……………….
stylishFree MemberThe university is a little way out of the city, but the bus service is frequent.
There are plenty of shops to wander round, the castle museum is worth a look, and a lazy stroll by the river is ok in the summer, there is also the millenium library in the Forum (you cant miss it) which has alot on the history of norwich/norfolk and its role in the second world war. Also at the uni site, is a massive sports complex, built to olympic standard, and if you like art their is the sainsbury centre, so plenty to do and see, enjoy your trip.
stylishFree MemberGot them on my Honda crv, with 2 thule 591 carriers, and they are ok, you can hear them at high speed, but at normal road speeds and motorway cruising i hardly notice them at all, the biggest problem i had was getting them in the first place, 3 attempts to get the order right, which included being sent 1 roof bar!
stylishFree MemberAfter trying umpteen different lens cleaners over the years, i have given up with the expensive ones, and use Tesco own brand, since switching to it, not had sore eyes, they clean up nice and are comfortable straight away. This is with hard lenses, and they can be a right pain at times.
stylishFree MemberNow starting to build up an On One Whippet, if it helps i am 5″11 with a 33 Inside leg, and an 18 inch frame feels fine to me, Set the seat and bar height last night, even though the top tube is long, it dosent feel it, i have started with a 70mm stem, as on one spec 60-80mm as the perfect size.
stylishFree Membercontinental x kings for me, been running them for a while now, and good in the dry or wet, roll well, light and grippy.
stylishFree MemberMy son has just turned 10, and he has now got a beinn 26, we went to islabikes to get him fitted up properly, and he loves it, his confidence is alot better on the bike, and he rides along for miles happy now, and finds it alot easier.
Only draw back is the standard tires, but he soon claimed a pair of ralphs i wasnt using, and now thinks he would like a suspension fork!stylishFree MemberBeen tempted by one of these also, what was the problems with the finish? is it the paint or the carbon? curious to know.
stylishFree MemberGot a house big enough, and been to that dreadful place today, but still hate them with a vengance, think i may have talked her out of a corner sofa.
stylishFree MemberAs i already know work will be utter poo in the next year (new owners who think we dont know what we are doing), i intend to to give as much time as i can to my wife and kids, ride more with my son, and just have some fun as a family.
Train when i can and race hard, enjoy the laughs i have along the way and help and be there for my close friends.
And cant wait to go back to Le Mans, not been foe years and had to miss the trip i sorted this year, so 2011 will be great.Happy New Year everyone, hope it brings all you want out of it.
stylishFree Member4 New wine glasses, some choccies, a new tie, and torque wrench, and ordered a new gilet today, all good really, as if i need it i buy it when required.
stylishFree Memberlike the look of the frame and seriously considering it as an option for rebuilding my hardtail in the new year, the red/white version looks spot on, but have a question, want to run it 1 x 9, as i just want to strip my current hardtail and swap all the bits over, but as its a press fit BB, what chain guide is best to use? got an MRP one at the moment, but cant see how i can use that.
any help greatly appreciated.
stylishFree Memberhave a look at the listings for tonight then, total rubbish on every channel i have, (freeview) so its Top Gear or talk to the wife, and i did that last night…………….
stylishFree MemberLove mine, it gave me alot more confidence to push on compared to my hardtail, runnig magura durin fork, easton carbon riser bar, thomson stem and seatpost, with stans 355″s on hope pro 2, gives me a bike that weighs in at 23lb ready to go.
stylishFree Memberdid the same, watched it going round aswell! didnt mind the blood, or the top of my finger looking a mess, but when it started to throb at night, that was nasty, drove me nuts for 3 nights…………..
stylishFree MemberGreat Witchingham hall is a fantastic looking place, twice in the last 10 years been called their to put the Power Lines back up following storms, took great delight in driving an 8 ton unimog over the grass to get to the pole i needed to work from, dont think Bernard would have considered the tire tracks to be “Bootiful”, but the Farm Manager thought it was amusing………………..
stylishFree MemberBought an 08 focus titanium for the wife about 18 months ago, and we both really like it, engine is a bit noisy when cold, but cruises really well, big wnough for family days out with 2 kids and all the kit they take along.
After many years of hot hatches, and daft saloons, i insisted on having the 18 inch wheels and sports suspension, which maybe we could have done without, the car came from Ford Direct via a dealer, (Retail Dealer in Suffolk, who were excellent) and we just specced what we wnated and they found it, had every option bar the sat nav, might even go and give it a thrash this morning……
