Essex is pretty big. Been to one round the back of the high street in Brentwood.

I do miss the bring your own places. They seem more common in the Midlands.

I went from my 04 s- works Enduro to a Tracer VP with CCDB found it similar with the benefit of more travel and a coil. Much better on the rough stuff although the backend is slightly less stiff than the Enduro.

Miss the Enduro but wouldn’t go back.

The bearings sit on the outside of the hub and have a 20mm bore (google the dimensions of a 6804 bearing) the spacers don’t push into the hub they sit on the outside.

Neither look like pro 2 front spacers. Mine don’t have o-rings. Go with wwaswas’s exploded diagrams.

Google have always had the policy of ‘if you want it deleted then you never want to see it again’. I’ve always expected this to change as they go for the enterprise market. Check on a pc as it may be archived or something.

I was warned off 2008 ones, don’t know why maybe someone else will know? Might be same issue as I’ve described below.

2009—2011 requires some understanding of the internals to stop play in the rear bearings. People over tighten the outer nut and don’t touch the inner one resulting in lunched bearings and possibly freewheel damage too. If buying second hand a bust or missing tool for the outer nut is a sign of this.

Not heard anything about the 2012 version yet.

If you are using tubes keep the pressures high enough to avoid pinch flats. Over 30 seemed to be a good bet.

Clogging up isn’t my problem its the noise from the odd leaf that gets stuck on the tyre. Mine has also cracked at one of the front velcro holes. It’s coming off and I’m going back to the between the stantions type things, which as well as being quiet and less prone to cracking also keep me cleaner (when going >20 on wet trails the MNs still let spray up in your face.)

Cane creek have an app on their website that takes the bike make and model with fork steerer and tells you what headset you need. May help?

My two had 12 inch pedal bikes from 4-5. The 14s were just too big and they are taller than avg. Strength to use the brakes is something else to watch out for.

I think you should post this on mumsnet for a more balanced view :-)

I was away riding 400 miles away 4 weeks before number 1 son was due.

Get them on my Android tablet and phone. Fine to read and great for holidays and travelling. Only issue is when you trying to search for ‘that’ article in a previous mag. You can’t flick through your archive quickly although Google is a help.

IMHO Time taken to get used to it is an individual thing. I agree with the loosing the bike in the air more, had to drop the seat a tad and probably changed my riding style (have a reverb now which also allows you to get the seat higher for pedaly bits) . I didn’t think the performance hit was noticeable but I do feel that I can’t drop my heals and stretch my legs as far when I’m on longer rides.

Get the spare wheel out, stand with your back to the wheel arch legs apart. Swing the spare wheel at the stuck on wheel.
Get a lift to a shop to buy some copper slip to apply to wheels before you put them back on.

I’ve also used a length of 2 by 4 and a 10lbs sledge but the above is faster.

Maybe a red herring but could the maxle actually be rusted onto the hub? I keep my front maxle greased to prevent this. If it is I believe some serious persuasion is required. Probably loads of post on this if you search.

I ordered something that was priced incorectly on the Rutland webiste last month (climbing gear) they were really good about it, called me, and offered me a massive discount. Would be great if Oakley did the same.

Well he is still in the meeting so that is good news……could have stormed or been kicked out mind :-(

This will be one muppet manager not a company conspiracy. Many big IT companies do this, rely on staff inertia and don’t keep peoples pay in line with the market. Many people move around every 2-5 years in order to keep salary at the market level, some leave and come back again. I don’t know many people who have had a pay rise in the last 4 years without moving.
I’ve seen staff get poached by the client whom we have an anti-poaching agreement with and the company just lets them go. Not seen anything like this happen with a competitor though.

here is a good article on why you should never accept or court a counter offer[/url]

alfabus, be careful you’ve probably got colleagues on here. If you work for a big company you can always go for the option of creating a nuisance of yourself to the point where they ask you to leave and give you a nice big wedge to walk quietly (compromise agreement).

Only ever done it with new seals and pistons but it was hard to get them past the seals. lay the piston on some wood and lean on it.

IMHO once a few start going it shows the age/stress they’ve been under and the rest will follow. If properly tensioned you will still hear the difference between an old set of spokes and and new set just by running your finger round.

I swapped 2009 XT for an old XTR M960 crank. The difference in stiffness was amazing, it felt the same as taking your winter muds off and putting your summer tyres on. Well worth it I think.

@bigyinn that’s what I understood. Thanks for the info. Still think brain would be better than pro-pedal but heavier :-(

Some of the guys one here put the betd link on but also had to modify something, think it was the shock??

    Stuuey

I’ve never had the bottle to replace the brain on mine and was told by mojo that RPL was the limit as an RP23 would hit the frame. So seeing the DHX was a shock, coil would be nice tho.
My frame still has the original warning sticker about not using a fork with more than 120mm of travel, thought that was just a geo thing and the fact that axle to crown lengths have dropped on large forks since 2004. I’ve got a 140mm fork with 69° head angle which is about per manufacturer specifications.

Sounds hard to believe – do you have anything to back this up??

The whole point of DNS, is that anybody can query any public server..

If you were selling internet access to lots of people wouldn’t you do as much as you could to limit the amount you spent on your internet pipe? To do this ISPs install proxy servers they even do deals with websites and host them in their own network to limit the traffic that actually goes onto the Internet. They also prioritise network use so that people paying more or using certain services get a faster response. The can stop you using other people DNS servers as they don’t want their Internet pipe swamped by DNS requests.

If you want to learn more Google ‘how do ISPs make money’ or something similar

    102 is not an error code and its probably nothing to do with DNS as the message came from a server. The fact that is sometimes works makes me think that it is either;

    1) software on your machine messing with the browser’s proxy settings, or
    2) virginmedia’s proxy servers (they will have transparent ones you can’t avoid)
    3) web browser (try using another one or re-installing this one)

trying a different browser will show if its your briowser or PC. If its 1 its probably spyware or spyware monitoring software. If its 2 you will have to pay for an SSL proxy service otherwise all http traffic will go through virgin’s proxy servers anyway.

My ayups are >2 years old,I use them twice a week and travel on my local trails at normal speed. All my issue with the old ones have been sorted with the new design my mates have.
I’ve asked the guys in UK ayup a couple of questions via email this last year and they have responded fast with good news. Eg. 30% off new batteries to replace the old ones, not that I need to yet.

I’m surprised they need bleeding so often! I do mine when they need it and that can be 800 to 1500 miles. I do it myself with the kit, it’s pretty easy and not messy unless you call 3 or 4 drops of brake fluid and a bit of water a mess? I use a bucket of water to catch it all and have kitchen roll handy. I think the bleed kit comes with things to put in your callipers to stop them closing when the wheel is off.
It takes about 45 mins from start to everything cleaned up. Twice I have had to bleed one again as the lever went to the bar when I tested it but that’s only ten mins extra.
Anyone have any top tips to stop this?
My top tip is to highlight all the open clamp/ close clamp text as it easy to miss one and it cocks things right up.

I did actually get email meant for someone else. My email was not on the to or cc and it was things like facebook passwords. When I got in touch with the owner of the other address she was very tech savvy and convinced me that she was not forwarding mail. After our conversation she stopped using her account. There is no way to raise this issue with Google unless you have a premier account or you work with them.
So mrmo I believe you, I got my account sorted but not by the usual channels. You could try Google apps premier free 30 day trial and raise a support call on day 1.

Yup agree. Remove allergens first (hard for me as I’m allergic to everything), keep weight down, stay fit, drink coffee and don’t have lots of milk. Coffee makes a huge difference!
