    Question
Upgrade to GX (though not too bothered about carbon bars) or use money for a dropper?

19th September then? That should fit in well for me. Thanks

Any chance to have a dropper as an option on the upgrades section on the order?

Close to pulling trigger on full build – couple of queries. What’s the code for the £200/ £150 off? Tried the earlier preorder code but only worked on frame only. Also live near Sheffield what’s chance of collection (know this has been asked previously!)

Undecided on colour, keep flitting between both. How’s the orange looking ‘real life’
    Cheers

Thanks, yeah that looks pretty good too. Always skeptical about in house brands though….must be a bit of a snob ha. Can’t find any reviews on mine for this model.

I don’t think it’s possible to get it down to the £1190 starting point. They asked me for a screen shot which i sent and they basically said start point was the circa £1300 and intimated it was to do with their IT or something. Now I’m no IT guro but I can’t think it would be too hard to change this and nothing’s changed yet since. As it stands it’s false advertisement to me. Ah well I can still dream….

I’ve found same problem with the bird website. Smaller budget but got excited on the AM advertised starting at £1190.00 yet no configuration possible to even get near that price point. Lowest I could get was just over £1300. Emailed asking and was told must be my iPhone browser and then they were changing between server clouds but quite clearly states from £1190 which was disappointing as I couldn’t justify spending that as i would also need finance at 10% (and if the mrs found out i’d have been in for some trouble!) haha. Looks nice bike though

Think the iroko maybe an option. I do like the look also of the orbea as a 29er. What are thoughts on spec of the base orbea?
    Thanks

I had looked at the sentier but out of stock. The bossnut looks good value but after a hardtail rather than full suss

Thanks for the feedback. Was originally thinking of 29er but open to 27.5. My last and only experience to date after all is 26.

The pinnacle looks like it could be an option with dropper seat too. The boardman also looks good spec wise but…. I don’t know, just loath to buy from Halfords ha. I’m also unsure on the difference between the recon and Judy as to which is better. It had also crossed my mind that the 2020 bikes are starting to drop so some sales could follow with summer ending too?

I was looking at the sentier as an option but is currently out of stock unfortunately. Thought of adding dropper which would then be approxat the orange cost

    Thanks for the feedback.

Which bird bike are you referring? I’m thinking top price £1200 (minus 10% off online in places!). Regards biking, don’t anticipate anything overly technical, local woods, moorland etc. Downhill or uphill? My take is if you go down you have to back up at some point! Ha.

Forgot to mention I did actually have a bike post teenage years, DMR Trailstar in my mid 20’s before it got nicked. I’d say that was around 2006 ish, think early one as I got it second hand. Found it a nice bike to ride though, both canal/ road (between places) and minor wood trails. What’s the geometry of today’s bikes in comparison to that? 26 inch wheel think was 15” frame if I remember.
