How long do you think the problem of people getting bigger has been going on? Last Sunday we went the the Photography museum in Bradford while we were there we decided to select a program to watch in a booth the choice is endless and dates from about 1960 to present. We chose Newsround with John Craven from about 1974 so the kids could see how it used to be presented. There was a piece about schools offering healthy meals, salad ect as it had come to the educations notice that children were starting to look a bit porky. This seriously surprised me,it’s nothing new Jamie Oliver etal and it has been ticking for a long time.

Tracking devices are already flawed, the media is advertising where they might be hidden, where they are not as effective ect ect.Thieves are not totally stupid. Tracking cars in the motor industry has been available for years but eventually the thieves get wise and are able to out wit them. People often tell me with a transponder in my ignition key my car is safe, cobblers a scam a while ago thieves hired cars and vans for the day removed the transponder and fastened it up near the steering column then had a new key cut. Hand the vehicle back no obvious sign of anything wrong, a couple of days later the thieves come back and just take the vehicle using the newly cut key. Thats just 1 example the solution needs to be different. Surely there must be some uni grads able to develop something as part of their degree?

2 weeks with no use before it fails is a very small drain. Check for good connections on battery and chassis/engine earth leads, replace or clean as necessary. Energized relay coils usually show .25 amp drain. try using a clamp meter and see what shows up after the car has been parked and locked for a good ten mins this allows the car electrics to shut down. Now if there is a drain try pulling relays out till it goes off. Lastly driving around will not charge the battery if it is flat it ideally needs charging using a charger (4 stage if I was being fussy).

Father in law was put in charge of over seeing the job, plumber reported incident, didn’t try to cover up just did a shonky repair. F.I.L. surely should have checked the repair before paying. I have learn’t that it’s not worth getting jobs done on the side cos when they go wrong you have little or no comeback. Bollock F.I.L. for not doing his job properly and don’t use him again he is obviously incompetant. Or claim from F.I.L.

Had same issue on old version frame. 2.4 mountain kings rubbed the driveside stay. Spoke with cy and he gave me the dims at certain points along the chainstay and it was found to be out. Exchanged frame with no problem and ended up with the lateset version. Very happy with the service and comunications. Please speak to them and don’t get drawn in to the kangaroo court.

If the glass is toughened the process puts the glass under stress this means it can break for what seems to be very little impact. I have been carrying a piece of toughened glass approximately 100cmx50cm and it just shattered in my hands with no contact from anything else.

AA thanks for the balanced view. They strung me along for far too long, I suspect they realised their mistake and just tried to bluff their way out with the admin charge. A little dishonest from my point of view.

Nothing in the small print. I was told the cheque had been raised and posted to PX they would then ring me to tell me when the bike would be ready for collection/delivery. Being blatantly lied to really has annoyed me.

Gav so walking past the skate park and ending up with a board wrapped round my ankles cos some kid falls off and the board flies like a missile at me. Also seen a young kid get hit in the head by a board at the works in Leeds when a guy who looked pretty proficient came off and launched his board out of the half pipe. 30 years ago people laughed at us mtbers riding oversized bmxs cos we couldn’t ride bmx.

gd I agree a lot of it is done without thinking. I’m like you, been knocked off a few times and thought I could have reacted quicker and avoided it even though it was not my fault. Theres an article in the latest CTC magazine about DofT looking into way of makinf cycling safer i.e. traffic lights allowing cyclists to get moving first.

how does the top of the front wheel of a car move first? TJ. Id look where I was going rather than at a wheel.

Grow some balls and accept your in the wrong. Then you can carry on enjoying your ride till the next time.Accepting you are in the wrong rather than trying to defend your actions will hopefuly help us all in the long run as we will be seen as people who can get along with each other rather than agrivate them.

Correct never done an SBA test. The anchoring frame is not ever advertised for sale or discussed as a requirement when purchasing. The advise given to people is “make sure you use big bolts and some thick plates underneath” This I agree is wrong. When I used the term “spreader plates” I was refering to the method I used to secure the seat, fabricated plates that tie into the vehicles chassis/load bearing points (without drilling). Also Bebbseats have just had a seat/bed pull tested they use VW original seat fixings. Cannons forge also I think got a pull test done. Remember these seats usually have the seatbelt anchorages attached to them making the fixing of seat take the load in the event of a crash not like some car seats where your load is taken by the seat belt anchorages which are secured to the vehicle itself

Speak to Rob at Kira vans I was speaking with him before xmas about a Rib seat but with plain material and no headrests it makes them slightly cheaper. Also the rib may by crach tested but only if you use the anchoring frame supplied by scopema, most people don’t use it and bolt it through the floor with spreader plates which in my opinion is more than adequate.

I build vans with barista machines in them The guy who originaly came to comission the machine said most of the customers dont know what they are drinking so dont worry. People just like to think there is an art to it but it’s just a bit of theatre to extract a premium price. I don’t have a clue what to do really but it’s drinkable and most people in this country prefer the milky (kids) coffee anyway.

Everytime ive replaced drive chains it’s always been fine straight away this is just something ive not had before. Freehub is fine. Just readjusted the indexing for the umpteenth time and been for a spin and all seems to be better for now. How much float should ther be in the top jockey wheel?

    sturmey

Chain length is ok, rechecked chainring it was right, checked indexing, going to check freehub top jockey wheel seems to float on what looks like a shaft from left to right from one side of the cage to the other.

Pacemaker Not sure who owns the cars in Kahns but the urban myths are they may not be his but friends who bought them from ill gotten gains. Whatever the story he has some serious money up there. Mate of mine does the painting/colour coding of the interior panels for him and is able to charge handsomely.

I hear what people are saying about not needing but I find it very frustating running out of gears esp downhill, linking road sections and canal towpaths all of which are on my journey to work or are included in my rides.
