I had a pair. Very light and stiff. Excellent quality and lasted very well. Perhaps not as easy to set up as some SIDS I had but that’s my only criticism.

Just drove up and had a look round the car park for you. Sadly they aren’t in the carpark anymore. I’d call the cafe, ranger and bike hire place – probably been handed in. Good luck mate.

I got an insane deal from Delta Bikes in Dursley. I think mine was the last carbon one but there was an alloy version (2013) in medium too… Might be worth a call?

    What’s a “strava heatmap”?

Our JRT does it too. It’s normal and I’d agree rather endearing!

Been riding my TNT version for years. Striped it down to build other frames up but always return to it. Currently running 120mm at the front which I was surprised to find improved it over the 100mm forks I’d always used before. I think it’s a classic in the making.

I ran a set for a while and while they are better than a standard pair I wouldn’t say the price hike was 100% worth it.

They are gorgeous to look at though!

Well it gets better. I collect 2 bags and 2 chains. Pay £2.40 and get a free puncture repair kit thrown in (price tag £3.99)!

    Thanks iamroughrider – I’ll look.

    Muppetwrangler is right

    Go to http://www.icloud.com
Log in using your son’s iTunes login
There will be a “find my phone” option
As long as the phone had that feature enabled the magic of GPS will show you where the phone is (as long as it is on!)

Nope. Bought frame new and built it up myself.

    Slight hijack…

Any tent recommendations? About to do the same thing with my 3 and 6 year olds. Only have my trusty old 2 man 4 season tent so will need to invest!

If you mean the jockey wheel is parallel to the cassette cogs but not vertically in line then the adjustment screw on the rear mech needs a tweak. If however, the jockey wheel is not parallel but kinda oblique on the chain then you have a bent mech hanger (or bent mech – less likely).

If you have the inclination I’d seriously recommend wild camping on the moor instead.

Fox & Hounds between oke and Tavistock also has a campsite (and I think a bunkhouse)

    Nice!

You didn’t get that frame off eBay recently did you?? (Looks familiar)

RAGGATIP – Not a prototype, but it is one of the first two made. The frames were initially called Olympic rather than Skyline. Stuart at Pipedream said they changed the name as it was the Olympic year and there were concerns around trademark infringement etc. I think the 16″ one is still available at a reduced price…

Teasel – that is an 18″ frame. With pedals just under 21lb from memory.

Pipedream Olympic (now called Skyline). Not just steel… Stainless steel!
    Awesome bike.

I use a saris bones. It’s been on various cars including a Golf (though not an R32!) with no problems. Once it’s strapped down its solid and never had an issue with paintwork damage either.

Try Magura Service in the UK? Their number is 01530 414142. Always been very helpful in my experience.

For a 68mm bottom bracket fitting a HT2 shimano bottom bracket would need one spacer on non drive side and two on the drive side. All 2.5mm width. You should have 3 spacers all the same width?

Don’t know if it’s the same guy as above but when I called the Magura UK service centre for a warranty claim they were really helpful. 01530 414142.

    Don’t bin them! Fantastic brakes!

Try a strip of two of electrical tape along the seatpost. That effectively makes it a slightly tighter fit and should help slippage. Obviously clean the post first etc. Apply the tape lengthways not round and round.

It’s pretty groomed and smooth tbh. Steady climbs and descents. Nicely twisty. OP is right its fantastic fun when dry and dusty – especially on a cross bike! The faster you go the better it gets. There is plenty of off peiste stuff leading off from it too.

IMO the red route is in pretty poor shape at the moment. Very washed out and tatty. If you know to find it the original red “rat run” is in much better shape if much shorter. I would keep kids off the red unless they are pretty able tbh.
