I’m 5’6″ and the small is just a fraction to big but as its the smallest it will have to do. Only my opinion but I would say medium for 5’11” & 6′ giant people :-)

Oh yes… got back into when the boys were in thier teens and I kept all the gear. Only go 1/2 dozen times a year now, to the same private spot on the Derwent, but it brings back so many great memories. Normally bag a few Perch,Roach,Rudd,Grayling the odd jack pike and/or loads of gudgeon. Good times good times.

I haven’t but like you I’ve experienced it. Worst bit was the guy seemed to me to be happy,always bouncy,chatty,positive and have everything he wanted in life. Walked down a field and blew his brains out with a shot gun leaving a wife and two teenage girls behind. Why ? He had no major money worries and a caring family who miss him every single day.

100’s of walkers turn out,100’s of general public and even 2 horse mounted ladies as for MTBers well 5 of us ? even though it was a sunday and the car park was full of MTBers. All to busy riding I guess.

Nonsense….For what its worth… Don’t let them get to you. My long term riding buddy is a policeman(brilliant,nice,caring man) and I wouldn’t do your job if it came with a new moutain bike every month. You get good and bad in all walks of life, just like forums really.

Us ? as in mountian bikers would be a start don’t you think. BTC & BC both have internal differences inregard to cycling issues. From recent experience they dont even work that well together (or even want to).

OG …. I had to find a female and ask her if she had anything to stem the flow as I was bleeding alot. I assumed she would give me a band aid from her handbag but no all she had was a tampax, which worked and she made me walk back to the car park with my wound elevated 8O

Most people on here give helpfull well meant advice and guidance. OP asks a question we try to be helpfull, where is the problem there ? Yes some of us have been riding since way back before it became popular but we don’t mined sharing … get a life, there is no worse or better in this case and lets all feel the common MTb’in lourve flow…….

Everybody gets that massive excited buzz when they first start to and then decide they really enjoy off road cycling and you just want to share that feeling (as your obviously enthusiastic) . Yep, saw his comments and made the relevant assumptions about what type of person the cyclist is (a bit of a knob). But nobody won and the copper lost it at the end, resulting in him looking and being the aggressor and not even charging the cyclist.

Cyclist is a pain yes and probably guilty. However I don’t feel sorry for this copper as he is PAID to understand the laws and then act accordingly within the law. He lost it and grabs the camera, which just makes him look the aggressor and back in the real world would be a massive FAIL. Difficult job I grant you and there will be good and bad ones as in all walks of life.

Went SS way back in the day and I haven’t found the need for gears since and yes I do ride in the lakes and the borders.

Tuesday night crew 4 to 6
Thursday night crew 12 to 16
Sunday morning crew 4 to 8
Trips away 15 plus
I arrange it and they turn up and play nice together…..simples innit.
