    Yep, I have a couple of urban rat runs and then out onto cheeky trails(aka footpaths) so i ride them at night in winter when nobody else is using them. It a solo game though so take care in the tough urban world 8) but it beats riding in mud every time.

    Mine walked when I was 11 and my mum did a sterling job of bringing 3 of us up. Kept in touch with him, started a business with him when i was 22 but he has always been a friend/business partner but not a dad. Guess he was just not cut out for it as I have two sons now and he is a very poor grandad. I have spent the last 21 years (oldest boy now 21)being the best dad i could possibly be……. so its been no big deal I guess.

    Just turned 50 couple of months ago, along with 3 other lads i ride with and well its just a number. Doesn’t stop us from playing around like kids on bikes and ripping the p@ss out of each other. Might be just a freak club thing as we all ride single speeds though 8O and we dust the geared boys YAHOOO !!!!!

    Facts: The thin lats that covered the roof are how they used to do it before felt was used. Modern practice is to remove thin lats (after removal of tiles and tile lats and then re cover roof in a breathable waterproof membrane to vent the roof space but also to keep water out. Once the tile lats are put on and the roof is retiled eveything is ok. It sounds like the membrane has been damaged before the tiles are put back. It needs repairing/replacing before re tiling.

    The garmin 800 is about as user friendly as a bulldog with a fresh wasp sting on its tackle when it comes to setting up and route planning. Mrs Stumpy was not impressed with it as it doesnt work like a tom tom :D

    I blame the rush to enter SSUK 2012, with all those beer stops and parties and cheese and FUN to be had whilst racing hard.

    A sign of good things to come ? You decide…I turned up to a Singletraction Trail Dig/Repair day today at Dalby and Mr Adrian Carter aka Pace was there digging muck,shifting rocks and building trails like a good un 8) (Along with alot of other good folk) He obviously gets involved and puts a lot back in, even on a sunday and as a volunteer. Dont ever remember PM getting involved in anything that they couldn’t charge for ermm…..lesson to be learn’t perhaps.

    Things can only get better and the official word is…….

    Adrian Carter, Pace Managing Director, said;
    “We’ve been developing our bikes in this forest for almost 25 years and in that time have seen Dalby progress into the World Class venue we see today. We intend to build upon that as we form a strong and unique partnership with CTC and Forestry Commission bringing together our collective strengths.

    Dalby Bike Barn’s key objectives are to provide a focal point for the local cycling community, attract more tourists and keen road/mountain bikers into Dalby and once here deliver the very best courses and events, technical support and retail experience all in a warm and welcoming environment.”

    Dan Cook, CTC Senior Off-road Officer, said;
    “Dalby provides an ideal environment for each of the 29 different courses that CTC delivers, as well as a great base for community development. Partnering with Pace and Forestry Commission at Dalby Bike Barn means that we can inspire more people to cycle.”

    Alan Eves, Forest Management Director, said;
    “The high level of interest underlines the forest’s profile as a prime biking destination. We have sought to select partners who can help take forward cycling in Dalby, building on our reputation as a family biking centre offering world class facilities on and off the trail.”
