recently had a quote of WBAC on the wifes auto toyota aygo and was properly shocked to see they offered us over 1k more than we bought it for 3 years ago !!
Understand they will knock us down etc , but still , thats not bad … Just waiting for the new car to turn up and then off it goes :)stumpy_m4Free MemberHad my invite come yesterday as well, I’m coming to the end of a seasonal contract (non driving) , so may have to look into getting back onto the wagons over xmas ,despite not really wanting too !

I’ve got my eye on a Galibier Mistral and Galibier Izoard fro Christmas. Both get raving reviews.I’ve just sent a Galiber tempest jacket back , not because there’s anything wrong with it , quite the opposite, it felt real quality, good features, packed up uber small, but a little bit too snug for my liking on my belly ! … would of gone a size up but none in stock
Id have a look at any of their products after receiving this jacket, very impressedstumpy_m4Free Memberton

Yep it was small Heath on the canal just by the ackers trust, one jumped out in front of me and before I realised it his mate was behind me taking swings at me with a massive spanner. Apparently on Twitter you can’t describe them as 2 Asian males, who as I found out had backup just on the bridge so 4 in total.shit news mate , exactly same as last year , maybe the year before as well , hope your ok etc , one of the reasons I moved out of Birmingham, got fed up of that shit!

Was attacked on the canals in Birmingham today for my bike, it’s my work bike, bit shaken but no injuries, police great tbh did really well but obv no luck.I’m concerned about my garmin, can anyone else access its data to find my start points? I’ve contacted garmin but obv it’s a weekend. Anyone know?
Also it’s an Orange speedwork grey 2019 model it’s as purchased no upgrades as it was my work commuter.
As a born and bred brummie,(live in rural yorkshire now) thats shocking, guessing its small heath tyseley way ? … know there had been people jumped for their bikes before, loved riding the miles of canals and really miss them sometimes , but dont miss the shit Birmingham comes with either, let me know the exact area and ill message and warn a few others as well , good luck getting the bike back
stumpy_m4Free MemberDamm … usually ride 170mm cranks and looking for a replacement for my bikepacking bike , will 5mm make a huge difference ?

Leftfield but are your chainstays straight? No way you could have bent them a bit?Worth a check…
Actually did think about this at the start , as the frames been off for a fresh powder coat … it all seems and looks ok etc , wheel sits central etc
Moved chainring to outside crank spider which gave me a bit more of clearance, but shifting all to cock now! … fresh cables etc, but shifting’s all over the place, guessing chain line effecting it , as shifted lovely before !….. Looks like its going back to 10 speed and staying at 10 speed !stumpy_m4Free Memberampthill

OP are you components elegible for refund? Maybe go back to 10 speed. Maybe something like thisFitted them over a month ago and didn’t notice it then !!, ordered direct from china, so would be a pain to return etc , have gone back to 10 speed for now , BUT the chainring thing could possible work as I’ve just had a look and the chainring runs on the inside of the crank spider arm and always has, so gonna move it to the outside and see how it lines up ?? … could be enough ? .. cheers for all the reply’s

Nope.11spd freehub body is 1.8mm longer than the 10spd one.
Arh ! .. did not know that , hence the issue then ! .. thanks
stumpy_m4Free Memberjames-rennie
Full Member You might be able to move a spacer on the BB from one side of the bike to the other. A bit of a bodge and depends on frame/BB/cranksFrame has a EBB , so did tap the BB over slightly, but no better really, still touches ! … think the whole issue is the cassette .. most seem to come with machined spiders to keep the weight down etc, thats ok as long as they arent offset.
stumpy_m4Free Memberjames-rennie
Full Member1x .. should be the same overall thickness !, thinner cogs and smaller gaps between cogs , I’ve always assumed ?
stumpy_m4Free MemberOriginal Direto here , been superb , broke the belt after 2 and half years and Elite replaced the belt and pulley in 3 days from Italy even though trainers out of warranty ! .. great service .. Trainer still running sweet
stumpy_m4Free MemberNot great. What size did you order?

@stumpy_m4 – have you discussed this with them?Their Customer Service is usually fantastic but something has clearly gone wrong here.
Didnt get to speak to them, just email etc, usual supply issues, but why confirm etc
stumpy_m4Free MemberI’m running a 11 speed ZTTO cassette from aliexpress, it’s only a couple of rides in but works fine, shifts up and down ok and it sits on a pretty red spider which is a nice touch and cheap as chips £25-ish delivered

I’ve got a Cupra Formentor on lease, I really like it. It has a few niggles with the adaptive cruise control but that’s being fixed with a software update. It’s a good size and goes well enough for a 1.5L.Good looking car, looked at those earlier in the year, deals arent as good at the moment :(

Thats the actual model ive been looking at, so thanks for the feedback on it :) .. what colour did you go for ?

Are you out of contract with PlusNet?The reason I ask is I’ve been with them for years and I’ve always had to threaten to leave before getting a good price (but I stay because my connection is solid and the service has been good).
This year they seem to have upped their game as I had a reminder to say my contract was due to expire, so I logged on and got a new 18 month deal for less than I’m paying now 🙂
Took less than 5 minutes and I didn’t have to do the ‘I’m leaving’ charade so I’m a happy punter. Very slick compared to previous years!
yeah out of contract , only noticed as bill suddenly went up to £42 !! …. have given them notice while i look around a bit more , but in all honesty , ill probably end up staying as have very few issues with them , apart from their regular prices hikes etc

with inevitable postponement of Moors 100, looking for plan 728….never ridden ion north york moors, so was really looking forward to it. Anyone know any good routes there, possibly as a 2 day bike pack stopping over at high paradise farm (where the moors 100 was going to overnight)?
thanks
Pretty much what im thinking as well :) .. Ive got a previous gpx route of the moors 100 , was gonna have a look at that over the next few weeks and have a bash , I’ve rode quite a bit of the older route as live local-ish to the moors , Just waiting for a shifter to turn up before I can rebuild the bike packing bike

I’ve been with onestream a month, so far the the connection drops 3/4 times a day, sometimes the router randomly reboots and sometimes you have to manually reboot it. So far support have told me they can’t see a fault, only manual reboots and to turn it off for 20 mins if it happens again.I run the technicolour router supplied with its wifi off and plugged into my tenda wifi mesh.
Thats not sounding too clever ! .. maybe paying plusnet the extra £2 a month might be worth the lack of hassle

They’re cheap, and a quick Google tells me the router they supply is also cheap – only 2.4ghz WiFi, no 5ghz and only has fast ethernet ports, not gigabit. Probably not an issue but if the router is that cheap then it’ll probably cause issues.Look for reviews too, they’re new but there seems to be a fair few negative reviews.
sounds like you found the same reviews as me ! :)
stumpy_m4Free MemberI have both shelters, had the mini peak a lot longer , yes its heavier etc , but what a great shelter, room to cook if the weathers rubbish and room to drag the bike in at night if needed etc
the lunar is very good at what it does, packs ultra small and weighs nothing , takes time to get it pitched just right , which I don’t think I’ve managed yet ! .. does suffer a bit with condensation but that could be a bad pitch ?? … either way both shelters are great at what they dostumpy_m4Free Membercharliemort

I was wanting to go to 50 I think I’d want 12 speed. I’m not sure if the hubs will take an XD driver or a Microdrive but 30 x 11 is high enough for me.Use a non shimano 12 speed cassette from the likes of sunrace or sunshine etc, 11-50/52T fits on a standard hub etc :)… Looking between £25-40 delivered from aliexpress

Not used the bike for bikepacking yet but I’ll be doing the Moors100 on itThat was my plan, but doctors orders are too stay off the bike at the minute until ive had further heart/artery tests !
Ive emailed Si about the Moors 100 a few times now and heard nothing back? … Not seen anything official to say its back on except the comment on bearbones ! … I still might turn up yet and hopefully not keel over doing it !stumpy_m4Free MemberEnded up going 11 speed deore, mech, shifter, 11-50 cassette, kmc chain, all be here in a few weeks from ching chong :)
The bike has cost me virtually nothing since I bought it, so a new powder colour and some nice new running gear and it’ll be happy for a few more years dragging me around the country sidestumpy_m4Free Memberwhitestone
OP – I’d probably go 11spd but it might also depend on what you have on your other bikes. Having them all 10spd or 11spd means you can keep a chain “in stock” and it will be fine for all the bikesThats kind of what im thinking, my road bike, gravel and this will all be 11 speed then, just my fat bike then that rocks 2×8 speed :) …
11 speed it is then … cheersstumpy_m4Free Memberdropoff
