Sorry to hear this Tony. Personally I would just go in as normal and do your normal days stuff. Ive always thought never burn your bridges. You never know if or when they will be taking on again, thats if you want to go back. As for what to do next, I would get hunting straight away and dont be to hasty with spending your redundancy as you dont know how long you will be out of work.

Hope you get sorted soon mate.

Cheers for the comments …. dont think they will be taking on again as all the work is going to china … from next week the cab will be over 90 % chinese and a bag of crap …
Have spent most of the day loading press tools onto lorries to go out !!
By the end of july the work force will of been halved , with just over 60 lads left on the shop floor …..

Sound, cheers for that. So if the colour is in the lacquer of a flam what happens as the frame gets scuffed etc. Does it start looking tired. What stands the test of time better? Metallic or Flam?

Id say a metallic will age better , as a flam is a coloured lacquer over the top of a silver base ,the paint layers get quite thick and the thicker the paint , the easier to chip

    layers go:
etch primer – primer – metallic colour – clear lacquer
    or
etch primer – primer – sparkle silver – flam colour – clear lacquer

Flams do look very good at first , alot depends on what bike its going onto ?? .. mtb or road bike and how you treat them ?? .. if you just throw your bike around id look into powder coating instead as this is much harder wearing … if you prize your bikes like me, id go stove enamel , as the colours and designs are endless ..
Have been out of painting bikes for 10 years now , but i`m about to be made redundant from the the job i left cycle painting to go to , so ive been thinking of spending some of my redunadancy money and maybe starting painting again ?
Some of the refurb companies seem to make a alot of money for a respray !!, thats over double and tripple to what we were charging 10 years ago …

I've bought a few items from Jenson USA and have luckily avoided import duties so far – its just luck whether customs check the box or not

How long has it been ?? .. i thought that , then the fedex envelope dropped through the door !!
Import duty is 4.5 % , then vat and then the handling charge of around a tenner

Was a cycle painter myself for many years , so here goes
Flams are different to metallics in that metallics have the silver or sparkly bits as part of the color itself .
with a Flam they use a sparkle silver as a base coat first and then put a Flam over the top , a flam is basically a coloured lacquer, so you get a deeper/richer color with a Flam .. you can darken a flam color …. just by adding a extra coat … You`ll probably find also that the Flam color will be slightly darker at frame intersections where the color over laps….
Flams do look good in the sun though , with the sparkle coming through the color …

Stunning place lake garda , stayed there last year (fornella), went to visit the daughter as she works for eurocamp and is based at lake garda, hopefully get out there again this year

where abouts are you thinking of visiting ???

Top of the lake is where you find all the cyclist , plenty of roadies and mtb-ers :D

while your there make sure you take the cable car from malcesine up to the top of mount baldo …. fooking amazing scenenary

have alook at eurocamps website as they allow people on there sites with there own tents etc

We took 3 leisurly days to get there from the uk , plenty of stop overs on the way

You and the family will love it :D

it was well into the high 30s when we were there , the car did read 47 degrees one day ?? .. but not sure that was right ?
