Look on jenson's website for cheap import frames. I nearly bought one last year. About the same price new from there as alot of the second hand prices I've seen

Bought my Motolite from jensons , in feb this year.
you need to factor in the price ,plus import duty of 4.5% + vat at 17.5 % and a handling charge from fedex of about a tenner.

I took a 10K pay drop earlier this year, as I had no other realistic option.

Then again, I moved from a well paid IT job in central London, to one near Blackburn….

Yes , but was you only on 25k to start with ??

    Have you tried bargaining?

yeah , they didnt want to know

and steve g , i do have kids … mostly grown up now though

Between job seekers and child tax credits , we get almost £200 a week and that job dont pay much more !!
and we lose some benefits as well

as for the Job , its the setting of BIG power presses up to 800 tons and i have the responsibilty of setting and signing the safety guards off for the presses to run , if i get it wrong , people can die and im not sure its worth the risk for 14k a year ..
    cheers for all the replys

I only use towbar mounted racks, especially after following a mpv on the m5 last week on the way down to cornwall, he was fully loaded with 4 bikes on the back with a strappy rack.

kept flashing my ligts at him to pull over as the bottom 2 straps had came off and 1 of the side straps …. managed to get by the side of him and pointed at the rack , but from what i could see , he just carried on down the m5 …

when are you planning to ride dartmoor? I might be able to help?

Not sure all depends on what other things the wifey and kids want to do while were away, all i know is it will be between sat 24th and sat 31st ..
I`ll let them decide on what they want to do first and then i can plan my rides around that !
sorry i cant be more specific
    but thanks anyway

That Princetown loop is pretty tame just right for a SS with 1.3 CX tyres on

    Thanks Crispy !!

Is it just me or does Dartmoor look a bit "tame" compared with say Exmoor ?

No idea …. havent been to either

ummm, wouldn't be my choice. any route out of princetown is either going to involve road or lot's of rocks, or lots of very long, lumpy grass. if you're thinking of doing a loop down to burrator then it's rocks.

Cheers for that , never ridden dartmoor before , so have no idea what to expect ….. just watchin a few vids at the moment on youtube , to get a idea !

Physics says wider tyres roll better. Why would you want narrow ones?

stumpy – well not really as I'd already bought this one. (Just hadn't put it all together yet) The Titus would have just been a play bike that I really can't afford… I got a bit carried away with the idea as it looked so lovely, sorry. Still, better that it goes to someone who will get out on it lots and won't get into debt buying it, I'm sure you agree!

not a problem MM ……. Nice bike by the way :D

no – would be a major privacy issue if your recipient's mail client were to go around sending any information about it's status to other parties wouldn't it?

Read receipt requests are all you have, and of course can be declined by the recipient too.

    thought id ask anyway ..
    cheers
