I work for mechanical maintenance at a uni, ie .. heating and water pumps etc ….. but at the moment i seem to be checking water for legionella more than anything else !!

Try Aberystwyth uni as its got nant-y-arain only a few miles down the road :)
I know this because my lads there and when i go visit him we do nant

23.5 miles each way by car …… but hoping by the end of today , that will be 1.7 miles by bike as Ive an interview later closer to home :D

Ive had my renewal come this morning £566 !! .. im 44, loads of ncb and the cars an 8 year old nissan primera … its down as 14000 miles a year but i can reduce that now as im using my motorbike as well for commuting.

Riding a GT Zasker LE … middleburn cranks, XTR mechs and brakes, XTR wheels with ceramic rims and polished Rockshox mag 21`s !!
Was working for a bike company at the time so things were a lot cheaper :)

@stumpy_m4……well either way it’s a nice bike. Been looking at the Varadero myself for commuting duties (15 miles at midnight) Cheaper than my car and probably more fun too

Only issue Ive had is sticking brake pistons which have been a pain in the A**E !! ….. I rebuilt the calliper but still get sticking pistons now and then !!!!
Apart from that they are ace :) … and i always get 85-95 a gallon on my commute which is ace :) …. if you want more Varadero advise , check out the Varadero forums …. loads of useful info :)

I bought my first motorbike at the start of the year and its been great, got it to save me some money on my commute , 23+ miles each way …. I did the CBT and got a 125 cc Honda Varadero …. absolutely brill bike and a good size compared to regular 125 cc … its more than fast enough for me and I recently did some touring in the lakes with it with all my camping stuff and still got over 90 mpg over 600 miles !…. which im very happy with :)
will do my test when funds allow but for now its fine

Saturday … Asda shopping first thing ………. quick look at Hein Gerrick, to see what they got for sale in there closing down sale :)
Then off down the motorway to Bristol balloon fiesta and then Sunday im at the MIRA place for a super car experience driving day that the wifey bought me for my birthday :) …… all in all a busy weekend

Took my lad to coed-y-brenin when he was 13,he rode the mbr and the karrimor over the weekend and I was one proud dad :) …… he`s now 20 and studying at Aberystwyth uni, so he has nant-y-arian trails on his door step :) …. great to see kids out there :)

I used to work for a frame builder in Birmingham , that’s has sadly gone now ( venom cycles) … i was the painter there for over 7 years and while the money was crap i absolutely loved my job, riding to work every day and then painting fab frames and building them up and then riding home again :) ……
Id go back tomorrow if they ever started up again :) ….. and i used to do work for mick kowal as well when his painter was on holiday etc ……. havent seen him for over 12 years though …

Im 5″6 with a 29 inside leg and i ride a small or 16″frame .

Im off work with flu/good cold etc .. all in my eyes as well, nose is streaming and so are my eyes .. went to bed Friday nite feeling fine, Saturday morning absolutely full of it !

almost identical engines, laguna and primera were a joint venture between renault and nissan ….. both bags of c**p

Lagunas are terribly unreliable.What about a Primera ?

Dont do it !! , same engine problems that renault have, my primera has turned out to be an expensive buy !!, turbo went at 53k at a cost of £1460 !! and now the timing chains are rattling (68k) like u wouldnt believe when cold and they are a major job to do at well over 1k to fix … gonna run mine into the ground till it dies ….
not very economical either,high 30s-low 40s and thats not thrashing it !!

My nissan primera diesel turbo went last year at a cost of £1460 !!! .. and that was with 53k on the clock !!

I get 2 x 10 mins paid breaks and a unpaid 30 min break for lunch … thats doing 9hr days
