Have to say im very tempted by a new pair of 2013 corsa sl`s …as you’ve already said , hopefully marzocchi have got there act together now :) .. I still have a pair of bombers on my lads bike from 2004 and they are still buttery smooth and so plush … id love to have another pair that good :)
Funny that as ive just changed a leaking flow unit on my worcester bosch at the weekend … gas engineer wanted £168 for the fix …. part cost me £17.75 delivered :) …. part was much harder to remove than first thought as you have zero room to work and so ended up removing leaking part plus pump plus plate heat exchanger unit in one …. new part fitted and all new seals through out …. works a treat and saved a fortune ….. the many years of building bikes and model cars has come in very handy :)
Looking forward to reading the replys as we are thinking along the same lines except it will be left alone in the house a little longer than yours …. wife works till 2 ish ..
Bought a set 2 weeks ago as on a mega tight budget with this job …. very very impressed …. not so sure about built to order though , as i ordered at 10pm and then got an email the next day at 9.28 am to sat they had been dispatched !!
Great service and nice and tight wheels …. go for it :)

Deb is a friend of mine. lives in Lancaster now with her partner and 2 kids. That I guess would have been the F1 carbon frame with the Roberts rear stays?

Deb murrell, that’s a name from the past !!
Worked for a frame builder at the time and I was the paint sprayer ,remember painting debs frame, carbon front monocoque with a steel back end, which I believe was built by Roberts .
I remember them not very happy as I put our company name sticker on the frame before I lacquered it !! , was only doing what I was told :))
Have some pictures somewhere of that :)

my brother still races 1/8 buggies and hes in his 50s …… still turn up now and then at the races and run a heat or 2 for him …… its usually his fastest run of the day !
They are great fun ….. once you`ve got the hang of it, you can upgrade to the ic/nitro version for some proper speed and fun :) ……
get ur self to a local club and enjoy even more :) ….. by racing with other cars
Raced R/C for years when i was younger, only electrics though …. did have a play again a few yrs ago but this time 1/8 nitro buggies and have to say i still had it :) ….. just so bloody expensive to run competitively !! … £35 for a gallon of decent fuel, £40 a set of rims and tyres that will last 2 runs !! …. the list goes on …. had Mygens,Hotbodies ,thunder tigers,Hong nors and an associated rc8 … great fun but had to walk away and sell up , cus it gets too much
Mechanical maintenance at a university in the Midlands ….. usually involves lots of driving around doing as little as poss :) …. occasionally have to check things :(
Had my dream bike in the 90`s :) .. Zaskar LE , lots of XTR .. Brakes, Mechs, Wheels with ceramic rims .. XT thumbshifters, polished mag 21 forks, middleburn chainset and some blue bits :) ….
Did help in the fact i was working for a frame builder at the time and the XTR stuff was almost as cheap as LX stuff :)
