Have just swapped out my 960 XTR BB as it was past its best and have replaced in with a Hope ceramic one. it's lurvley and silky smooth, a definite improvement.

BigAirNig, how do they feel different tubeless?

    Easy to setup?

Yeh, this is what I mean, no-one has a bad word to say. Think the 2010 Mtb tubeless are being advertised at weighing 1486grams that's as light as SLRs! At almost half the price, plus I think they look better.

    Thanks for the replies.

Hey gee, you the Tunsall G? You'll know who's bike I saw em on if you are!

For the record a Sram med cage XO mech will work 11-34 / 22-32-44 a treat.

However, it won't work with Shimano shifters which I'm amazed that I either didn't know or research.

So popped down to my LBS and plumped for an XTR Shadow instead.

Disappointed that Id have to change my whole setup to run a nice mech. But next upgrade time I think I'll go over to Sram as on closer inspection their kit is extremely well put together and is "prettier" too.

Yeh, I'm guessing they'll be like the Flat Trackers, they feel good for racing but too low as I said for gnarly steep stuff.

    Thanks all,

have gone for the medium, especially as Crc have xo mechs for £119.

I'm a time served vet so understand how to use my gears correctly to keep the chainline straight and avoid extremes.

    Cheers

Think I'd probably be protective of trails I'd laboured over and would be equally concerned that masses of riders could converge and potentially ruin both the trails and the relationship with the fc.

On the flip side, it's really a privelige to ride new trails, especilly those of the quality you have and laboured to produce. On many occasions last night I commented to myself that a lot of work had gone into that place!

If I lived locally I'd be only too happy to contribute to the upkeep.

    Anyway, thanks.

    Toons, Drac et al.
A guided tour would be fantastic, I can already appreciate the quality but to link it all up seamlessly would be some ride I reckon. As long as I don't ever have to ride Pink Panther, I'm a little old in the tooth for that section 🙂

keep up the good work and don't worry, it's too remote forit to get swamped by all and sundry.

Be back up in a coupla weeks, hope to hook up then.

    OMG
well, got there around 7ish and instead of riding round the crag again I spent a good couple of hours exploring and oh my, haven't you been busy up there!
I'm sure there are more but the runs I found were amazing, well done indeed.

I even found the cheeky little run between the trees on the lower part of the wood, you know, the one with the front wheel eating bog half way through! Lol, over the bars I went.

Love the place and understand why you don't want it spoilt.

Look forward to coming back in a coupla weeks.

Hi guys, am over your way again this evening and intend to have another craig loop ride.
Not sure how strong Ill be as I beat myself up round Innerliethen last night for a couple of hours but would love some company if you're free.

Leaving Glasgow around 4 ish so reckon I'll be the between 6.30 and 7.

Hope to see you if you can make it.

    Thanks guys,

made it to Inners at 6.30. Rode the red and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is to date the best trail centre circuit I ridden, love the technical elements and the way the odd drop etc is thrown in to keep you honest. I especially liked the rock garden on the way down the first decent, came up kinda quick and am still trying to figure out how I made it through unscathed!

Views at the top of Minch Moor are outstanding and that comes from someone who is not normally looking.

Thanks for the tips, am in Durham on fiday so am going to hit Thrunton wood tomorrow night.

Ok well, I'm going to start with Inners Red (was black) and if time permits (might have an evening conference call 🙁 ) will drive very slowly, up to GT for the red there too.

Am planinng to get to Inners tomorrow for 5.30-6 at the latest so if anyone local fancies a ride, drop me a mail.

    Thanks again peeps.

Had a great ride, know why you want to keep that little gem quiet. Rode up and round the crag, great decent although I now need a new mech hanger lol. explored a few of your little groomed runs too, very nice indeed and well put together.

    Roll on next time.

Have used revs on the last couple fo builds and most recently on a pair of Hope Pro 2 717s, built two cross (purely out of vanity). The first ride they "settled" as usual and have since been fine. Have ridden enthusiastically at Cwmcarn as well as general trail hacking round my local forest. they have held up and are still true. I'd go for it, even if the weight saving is minimal (which it is) you have the satisfaction of sexy spokes. infact why not go the whole hog and get Aeroblades, frighteningly expensive, but bling as hell!

Mmm, ok, well this thread kind of puts my mind at rest as I've been putting the dogs poop (bagged) from the garden in the general waste bin for as long as we've had him and have always thought I was doing a "naughty" thing! Of course, what else are you supposed to do?
    Thanks peeps.

So tonight, anyone, I'm desperate and have time to spend.

I can of course find my own way from the carpark, but it'd be great to have some company.

Let me know, will be free from about 4-5

Oh, and tea/beer/whatever on mee if there is a guide about…. 😀

So, how was it tonight, beautiful evening.
    Anyone out, anywhere tomorrow?

    Stumpi

I'll do my best for tonight but doubt it. 20.15 may be a bit late tomorrow as I'll be done by 4.
Will update as I get on, thanks for being so accomodating.

    Stumpi

Ok, update for me is that theres no way for me to get there at a reasonable time. If I leave Milton Keynes at 4.30 I won't get to Thrunton until after 9, Bugger! I hate people that move meetings.

Toons, I'm on for tomorrow night if anyone can ride and I'd love to ride Thrunton.

Sorry messing y'all about, bloody customers! If you're riding tonight, have a goodun.

Ok, am hoping to get up for 7.15, although my meeting has now been put back 2 hours! Grr.

Is there a postcode/road name to head for?

Alternatively, if I can't make it on time tonight I'm deffo in for tomorrow anytime from about 4 onwards.

Wow, now there's a response. Am hoping to be up in time to ride tonight but if not deffinitely tomorrow. Would love a guide and by the looks of it Chopwell and Thrunton seen to be the best options.

    Hi guys,

Sorry for not picking these up, I had a very busy day yesterday and by the time I got to my hotel in Bucklers Hard I just wanted the bike out the car and off.

I asked reception if they could suggest a route and got directed up the river path to Beaulieu and then up the hill to the *forgets the name* big pub and worked a 16 mile ish loop from there.

I found a good mix of trails and indeed, saw plenty of ponies.

thanks for the kind offers though! Next time I’m down here (shouldnt be long) I’ll shout you again and we can get out and ride.

Ok, well, thanks, but please, I’m 39, I’ve bought every damn razor out there from the most expensive multi blade jobs down to cheapies to try and find the best.
I’ve used King of shaves oils, Molton Brown products, and everything in between over the years. I’ve tried hot flannels before shaving, soaking before shaving, and every other possible way to try and get a smooth shave and trust me boys, it don’t work for me!

If I go two to three days and then shave, great, no problem at all, but if I shave daily it’s a nightmare! And in this job, I have to now shave daily.

The only option i feel I have is to try an electric shaver, but don’t want to start spending 100s to try and find the best one.

    Thanks Dave,

great info, was all set for this until my Wednesday appointment cancelled this afternoon! Grrr.

Will try and schedule them for next Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning so I can make the ride.

    Many thanks for the tip.
