Mikey74… did you read my post?
Firstly, I can compare the two offences. They were both accused of racial abuse of another player whilst on the football field. It is the same offence. What you’re saying is different is the evidence.

The evidence in the Terry case seems to be greater, yet to date he has served no ban and only now, months later has been stripped of the England captaincy.
Suarez, in contrast, has served an 8 match ban.
I’m saying it is a double standard and unfair that Terry has not recieved the same treatment. I think you agree with me on this?
It would be wrong if Terry was to get away with it.

That said, I am in no way defending Suarez. Suarez deserved his ban in my view. He was accused of saying what he did, he admitted it, he was guilty and banned accordingly.

The only issue I have here is that Terry also should have been hauled over the coals by the FA and banned, stripped of the England captaincy etc, months ago. It is a shocking double standard.

I’m assuming you are a Liverpool fan from the way you are defending Suarez. I think you need to take off your liverpool fan blinkers on that one because it makes you look like you have double standards as bad as the FA.

The maximum punishment for the criminal offence Terry is being charged with is a £2500 fine, by the way. Lots less impact to him than the sanctions the FA could have and should have imposed.

Well said loum. FA have been totally spineless on this. They went in hard on the foreigner (Suarez) and didn’t have the balls to deal with their own “brave” John Terry.

    **** the lot of them.

Surely the video evidence is proof enough? You dont need to be a lip reader to see what he is saying.

I hope that if he is guilty, and it certainly looks as if he is, then he be punished for it. Absolutely no place for it in the game (or anywhere), no excuses.

It would be a travesty if he was to get away with it, whilst Suarez was hauled over the coals for a similar offence.

    (I’m not a Liverpool fan)

I can see him getting away with this whole sorry saga. If he had not been charged by the police then the FA would have been forced to deal with it, a la Suarez, and he would have gotten a long ban and in all liklihood stripped of the captaincy.
This going to a criminal charge, which is of course more serious but the standard of proof required is much higher, it gives the FA the chance to go all sloping shoulders on it.
My prediction, he will be stripped of the captaincy because the media is now pushing it (much like Fred the Shred), but he will be found not guilty in court, and get no fine and no ban at all.

If he had any decency he would have stepped down as captain until the criminal proceedings were resolved, and not waited to be stripped of it.

Haywire. Pretty decent, I’d recommend it for a bit of mindless action.

Whats the point? just replace the knackered rings and have a more versatile bike.

Warranty Direct definitely cover the flywheel, solid and dual mass are covered under the warranty.

Decathlon own running brand (Kalenji) have a selection, have various ventilating and reflecting panels, all do the job and are cheap.

There is a 6 month warranty included in the sale and the dealer can extend that to 2 years with autoprotect for £395. He claims that this is the cost price to them as the dealer.
Autoprotect do not have a good rep though, so seems little point taking out a warranty with them just because they are available through the garage.

With a ford of that age and mileage I’d have thought a good warranty is exactly what you do want. A remap and no warranty will soon see off various bits of your clutch / engine / turbo.

    What makes you say this?

Re-map may not be the best plan. I can re-think that idea, to be fair it goes well enough as is.

I imagine if you get the car re mapped without telling the warranty company and something went wrong and they could prove its re mapped then your up a creek. Mind you the blue fin thing is just plug and play once its uploaded with your car software so might not be able to detect anything.

To be clear, I will NOT get the car re-mapped without telling the warranty company or my car insurance company. If the remap would invalidate a warranty, if I get one, then I won’t get it done.

The car insurance quote is about £20 extra per year with a remap, not too worried about that.

I’m erring toward just not getting one, they all sound well dodgy and I have money set aside to cover one off expenses no problem, but I’d rather have the peace of mind if any of the sods are reliable.

TRX? (that is the first hit on google shopping, you may be able to find them cheaper) It does seem to be a bit of the new thing but they are a pretty versatile bit of kit and I am tempted to get it as I think it is the sort of thing I would actually use. Bodyweight excercises too so makes sense to me for climbing and a great core workout.

    £160!! 8O
    Wow.

I fantasise about one day having a house with a garage in which I can have a home gym. On my shopping list is the following:

Squat cage (with pull up bar)
    Olympic barbell
    Lots of plates
    Dumbells
    Selection of kettle bells
    Bench
    skipping rope
Heavy bag (if there is room)
    Rubber flooring of some kind.
    Spinning bike

Dunno what your budget is but I have a Cervelo RS and it is luvverly. Comfy and light.
I don’t know how you are defining a decent climber as that is so much about the engine, but the cervelo is certainly stiff in all the right places, whilst being comfy.

If you thought the first one was bad do not, under any circumstances, watch the second. It is by some margin the worst film I’ve ever seen.

And I believe Siri is localised for each country it’s sold in. It’s a man in the UK and a woman in the US for some socialogical (it’s a word!) reason

Is that right? I want my Siri to be a woman’s voice and am very disappointed that I can’t change it.

    I like spicy bolognaise!

    As you were then.

Seriously… Try it with no tomatoes (or just a small ammount if you must), use beef stock instead, loads of kidney beans (I use two tins per 500g of mince), plenty of chilli powder, paprika, black pepper, then a couple of pieces of dark chocolate (80% cocoa stuff), right at the end of cooking.

    Bloody luvverly it is.

What are you doing putting tomatoes in chilli? It is supposed to be chilli, not spicy bolognese.

    Use beef stock.

I’ve used viagra recreationally, both official Pfizer product and a rip off product which was a much higher dose, and it certainly got things going. Re-load time was virtually eliminated as well.

Didn’t really experience any side effects apart from the obvious. In your shoes, as it is being prescribed by a doctor, I’d give it a shot.

The Black Dahlia (just a brilliant, brilliant book)

    The Underworld USA trilogy:
    American Tabloid (brilliant)
The Cold Six Thousand (very good)
Blood’s a Rover (final in the trilogy – just started it)

Why Hollywood feels the need to remake perfectly good foreign language films is beyond me…. Oh, no actually it’s not. It’s because English speaking audiences are bone bloody idle.

Watch the original Danish/Swedish version rather than the typically bastardised US version.

    Dan1980,
I’m pretty sure it does show your purchase history. I seem to vaguely recall returning some small items without the reciept in the past, becasue it was logged on their sales system against me/my address, can’t be specific on that though.

Not unreasonable at all. You are still in the warranty period! You have proof of purchase date?
It would be unreasonable if you expected them to give you a full new bike. Frame fixed or replaced would be right IMO.

    How old are they Drac?
My missus has got a really old nano, and the my iphone won’t charge from the cable for that.
Modern ones, no problem, but the old ones are different despite looking the same. They will fit and the connection to a computer will work but it won’t charge.

    Stuey01

Didn’t apple change the iphone connection so that you had to use an iphone cable and not an ipod cable and you can’t tell the difference between the two just by looking?

    This is correct.

New cable, new mains adapter (or at least one that you’ve seen work on another iPhone – not iPod), if it still doesn’t work it may be borked.

Did it charge with your old charger? Did it work OK with the first cable you borrowed?

Of course they do, but whether that makes a difference in the real world is debateable… how often do you drive on the limit?
