I’d say the arse cream is an optional extra. I use it when I remember, I think there is marginally less soreness with than without.
Edit: Udderly Smooth is another gooch-creme that is cheaper than Assos and pretty good.

Bibs are fine for peeing, the fronts stretch down well enough. Advantages are increased comfort due to no restrictive waistband, this may not be an issue for you. Also the shorts stay up better at the back, again may or may not be an issue for you.

I find Gore to be a good combo of value and comfort. DHB from wiggle use a very similar pad to Gore and are typically cheaper, but I can’t get on with their sizing so don’t use them unless they are the last clean shorts in the drawer.

AM40s are reduced in Evans at the minute. About £50 if memory serves.
    They are very good.

All MTB’ers start out like this (except XC whippets), I know I did. Eventually you will embrace the lycra, and will be glad you did.

Only time I wear baggies on a road bike now is commuting. I’m not quite ready for my colleagues to get a full lycra show every morning and evening.

My friend did exactly this. Passed her test and then didn’t get behind the wheel for 11 years.

There was no issue legally with her having lessons, she just explained her situation to the instructor. The sensible thing to do in this scenario imho.

2010 Cannondale CAAD8 – can be gotten on offer for £450 depending on your size. My mate just picked one up as his first road bike, it’s really nice.

I for one look forward to the day when CRC rule the world and can garnish my salary directly at source, saving me the trouble of having to remember and type in a pesky Paypal password.

I really think this is moot and quite a pointless discussion. Horses can have their legs fixed, they are put down because its costly, although some rich owners do pay to fix them, others don’t.

    agreed.

Because it has absolutely no idea why it’s being tortured by being suspended in mid-air. Of course if you can find a way of explaining to the horse what’s going on, so it can an enjoy a month or two of sheer relaxed boredom instead of a month or two of confusion, panic and abject terror, then I’m sure vets would be thrilled to hear!

Like the abject terror and panic of having a saddle and rider on their back for the first time? But they get used to it. As if they are going to be panicked and frantic for two months straight, what a load of crap.

I have 36/22 SLX double and bash. I would prefer a 32 front. I never spin out off road and would have less front changes with a 32. My riding buddy has a 32 middle ring on his double set up and to be honest it’s much better.

Is this for a solo night in or a night with the other half? Have you seen either of them before?

If solo then Clerks, might as well start at the beginning. If it is to watch with the other half then other factors come into play. If it must be a Kevin Smith movie then Chasing Amy would get my vote.

Wasn’t someone saying the other day that Peaty uses 140’s?

He used them on his World Champs winning bike, small brakes was one of a load of weight saving measures they employed so he could eke out some extra speed on the very pedally course. I don’t think he uses them as a matter of course.

I think (I’ve heard) they usually put the whole horse is some sort of sling. So it just there swinging about for a month. Not very humane if you ask me. A bolt to the head is a much more humane course of action in my opinion.

So be bored in a sling for a month or be dead? How is that more humane?

I’m no bleeding heart animal rights activist, I get that it is probably more economical to “destroy” the horse than pay for a lot of treatment for an animal who’s useful life has just expired. But let’s not just dress it up as being more humane eh?

an explaination as to why they advertise 24hr dispatch if they repeatedly fail to live up to promise.

    Repeatedly?

Never failed for me. Not that this helps your situation.

A lack of response is irritating, there’s nothing worse than sending of email after email into a black hole.

Clock still runs. Fast transitions are all part of it, that’s why a lot of triathlon gear is focussed on it, it is an effort free time reduction.

Reba Team Maxle Lites usually get the nod. Shop around for a deal somewhere?

You’d be lucky. The cheapest I can find them is £499. If you find them cheaper please let me know!

I don’t have a problem with them, always wear them. I do make sure I always have some protective glasses to prevent spray.

Re: sticking fingers in your eyes, you need to man up and get on with it and over time you get used to it. It is no big deal at all anymore.

I’m contracted to 35 hours, but typically work much longer than that, especially if you count international traveling time. The flipside of that is the benefits are excellent, I get a lot of holiday and they are VERY flexible about things like working from home, morning off to go to the doctors, coming in late, getting out early for a personal appointment etc etc.
Presenteeism is bollocks, it’s all about delivery.

Give and take, very happy with it.

Bent’s doing OK, getting into good positions.

Might spend the second half on the turbo trainer.

1 mountain bike. Used to have HT and FS, but they were similar and I don’t use them enough as it is so I sold the FS. Now looking to change the frame on the HT, but still only going to have one.

Have other bikes though, 2 roadies and a hack bike.

There is some stuff that I would like to see more widely available:

    Dakine
    Sombrio
    Royal

    What I would do:

Contact CRC, wait for response (put tempting bits out of sight somewhere), then return them to CRC.

I’d strike off the Juicy’s if I was you as well. I’ve got Juicy 5’s and the squealing is frankly embarrassing. The pads are a pain to change as well. On the plus side, you brake less and therefore go faster ;)
I’ve replaced them with Hopes M4s and have no such issues.

In fact, I could sell you a set of juicy 5’s… 160mm front and rear, or I have a 203mm dinner plate for the front if you prefer ;)

My Cervelo S1 flexes quite a lot on the turbo, and that is renowned for being a stiff frame. I’m not sure I’d want to be putting that through a set of pivots over and over and over again.

Someone will be along in a minute to say that’s cobblers I’m sure.
