OP, if you fancy a SC Chameleon I’m selling a frame in medium size, with headset and seatpost. It is the EBB model so single-speedable.

    Email in profile.

My mate had a 172 cup, a predecessor to the 182. It was an absolute scream.

Looks like a top-end TT bike with spec to match. £7k is about par for the course.

I think he is a tool.

He played well last season, I’ll give him that.

I was fortunate to inherit a share of my grandfather’s house, along with my siblings and cousins. We decided very early on to sell up.

A near neighbour actually knocked on the door whilst my parents were clearing out some items and flat out said that they would be interested in buying if we were selling up, they had been on the look out to downsize to this type of house and location for ages.

Long story short, we got some valuations, gave them first refusal, deal was agreed and sale went through quickly and pretty painlessly.

My advice, be direct, don’t bullshit them or sugarcoat it, state your interest and give them your details. Allow them to mull it over and come back to you. Don’t take the piss with a low-ball offer.
It will help hugely if you are not in a chain and can move quickly.

I was on an early flight today, 7:20am. No probs on the roads that early, expect it will be carnage by now.

    Michelin Krylion carbon.

Excellent tyre, I run them in 25mm flavour, no punctures, 260g (weighed myself on kitchen scales) grip and roll well.

Maybe I’ll try an Ardent when I next need a new front.

I think I’m gonna go with the Minion, see how I get on. If I miss the grip of the supertacky high roller I’ll switch ’em out.

That’ll be because supertacky is 42a.

    err, yeah I know

The minion is 60a I think. It’s not labelled super tacky and feels quite different to the rubber ofthe high roller.

    Thanks….
Never used the minion on the front so don’t know what it’s like.

You want to be out Whitton way I’d say, I know some people who always drive in and park there. Short walk to the stadium if he’s up to it, pubs not as busy as Twickenham high st (thats not to say they aren’t busy, they are), also a much quicker getaway after the game.

If you’ve tried all that and are still having problems then I say give road pedals a go, got to be worth a try.

I have Look Keo but if I was buying again I’d have shimano SPD-SL.

Strauss looks to be an excellent leader, I’d say.

Have you tried upgrading the insole to something more supportive, like a spesh BG insole or a Superfeet one?

Superfeet green worked wonders in my snowboard boots. BG insoles seem good in my proper roadie shoes.

If you’re having issues on such short distances then may be worth considering.

Do people not find the shoe a bit flexible and causes hot spots if you use the hike-a-bike style shoes?

Is the stiffness (or lack of) not a problem?

Over 8 miles? No way. It would have to be significantly further than that to cause problems I would think.

+1 rootes. I have the RT80’s for commuting duty.
I prefer the double sided MTB style spd’s in town traffic. The RT series are good because they don’t have the big MTB offroad lugs but the cleat is still recessed, they are very easy to walk in.

Broad looking very good, Andersen a bit ropey, hopefully he can keep off the strike for Broad to rack up a few more.

210 patient just turned up at 347. Still seen though, despite no apology in sight.

Well that patient is a douche, should consider themselves lucky to be seen and apologise profusely. I don’t think anyone would disagree with that.

My GP’s has been pretty on time on the few times I;ve been there. My missus goes a fair bit more regularly than I do and she finds the same.

A clinic at the local hospital though… we had the first appointment of the day once for the other half, we were seen an hour late. We were the FIRST appointment. Amazing… the queue must have been a nightmare by the end of the day.

The front hose is routed unlike any I have seen on a Fox fork. Usually they go from the securing clip on the crown, inside the fork leg to the caliper. You’ve got it routed outside, hence the WTF?!?! comments.

It’s Ebay, you’re protected and the ebay dispute resolution is heavily weighted in favour of the buyer. Pay by paypal, not gift or bank transfer. You’ll be fine.

Time are highly rated by the mags, never had any personal experience of them to relate though.
The carbon sprung instant engagement ones they have out now are intriguing, I’d like to try them.

I have Look Keo Sprints and they are OK but I don’t really rate them. If I was buying again I think I would go Shimano SPD SL’s based on my mates’ positive reviews.

I find the keo cleats wear out very quickly. And annoyingly I snapped a brand new one in the transition area of a triathlon, first time it was used (granted this is probably just unlucky).

If you go with Looks then I prefer the red cleats that give you 9degree of float rather than the grey ones which are 4.5degrees.

Philc – we met with a financial advisor last week (first house buying). The size of deposit makes a huge difference. At 75% LTV you are looking at 2.19% interest on a two year tracker, as the LTV goes up the rates get progressively worse until you are looking at approx 6%, thats with a base rate of 0.5%!!
On the same loan (approx £300k), that is a monthly outgoing difference of about a grand iirc.

Renting and getting a decent deposit together has to be the way to go. Sucks short term, but your long term prospects are much better (earlier repayment, lower monthly mortgage payments, equity position etc)

I’m a bit scared of going below 75% LTV cos it’s so bloody expensive. I wouldn’t even countenance the idea of trying to borrow a deposit on an unsecured loan. I seriously doubt anyone would lend you money if they had an inkling that was what you were doing too. Effectively that is a 100% mortgage, with part of the borrrowing on a much higher interest rate and much riskier lending as it is unsecured.

    Madness, imho.

    I’m not a dad… but I do have a turbo.

I can second the recommendation for an Elite Elastogel fluid. I got mine for £140 from Wiggle. It is simple (no adjustment, power measurement or other fancy pants stuff) and quiet (relative to other turbos). It is very good.
Make sure you also get something to prop the front up or your position will be a bit odd!

He doesn’t win just as many without the leadout train. However, he has demonstrated that he is capable of winning without a leadout.
Still the majority of his wins come from a leadout and the best way to ensure a win is to have an effective leadout.

I think you’re right Jonba, but there is nothing quite like regular race wins to appease your sponsors, giving the team breathing room to focus on development.
I can see how buying in Cav to net all those wins would be attractive, particularly after a lacklustre 2010. 2011 has been much improved for Sky though so they may not be feeling the need quite so much.

    It really annoys my Mrs.
I can only assume it is meant to be like that. I think it is kind of endearing. At least they haven’t spent megabucks on a superslick over produced ad.
