Maybe I’m just not a corporate person but I can’t see how anything ever actually gets achieved in this kind of environment…

By determined individuals working around all the BS.

Humane trap was about as much use as chocolate teapot.

Do you reckon his missus has told him to sell it, he can now say all innocent like, “Well, I’ve put it on ebay…”

Yeah, this makes a real difference to the chances of STW dwellers getting her in the sack.

I wouldn’t put a bottle on the bike for anything less than an hour crit or cross .. just be well hydrated when you start.. it’ll be over before you could realise you are thirsty and need a drink.

Surely it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it?

I think there is something quite beautiful about wind turbines. Fantastic design aesthetically, imo.

(I am aware that others do not share this view.)

    14 pints in two hours

Can anyone actually drink 12 pints at one session ?.

    Many, many people.

For me it depends on the length of a session. 12 was commonplace on all-day six nations on TV in the pub sessions whilst at uni. 12pm til 3am the following morning – quite easy to get that many down.
Couldn’t hack it these days though.

    Ah, to be young again.

After 12 pints women aren’t so much irresistable as irrelevant for all you’d be capable of if any actually went for the drunken slobbering idiot look.

It should be noted that “curvy” is not the same as “fat”.

So “monstercross” is just a 29er with a set of weird bars on it?

You just don’t get this whole them and us on roadie forums, in fact MTB is hardly mentioned at all.
Seems to be a completely one sided obsession, like an inferiority complex.

    or this:

clip on braces and your normal baggies would seem to be the obvious solution?

Shed a tear whilst delivering my groom speech at my wedding this year.
Other than that, cried manly tears watching Men of honour when Cuba Gooding Jr does his diving suit walk in the court room with De Niro screaming at him.

    Awesome movie.

    Boom. And it’s pink too.

    £42.

i have one in black and it does have a stabilising strap that works fine.

Edit: note to self: READ THE POST – she doesn’t like pink… other colours are available.

So having spent 5 mins on CRC I’ve worked out that buying the various bits at retail would come in at £5300ish, and that’s using the most expensive Ritchey post, bars and stem.

    With or without frame?

I like Eboue, always struck me as being a little short on talent but always full of verve and commitment to try to make up for it.
I can’t fault his effort but I think the bottom line is that he just isn’t quite good enough, so he has to go.
I wish him well at Galatassary.

    What would rucksack user recommend?

I recently bought an Osprey Escapist 25L jobby. It’s nice. Obviously can’t comment on durability as I haven’t had it long. Osprey seem to have a good rep though.

Bloke on doorstep with money trumps random on the internet, no matter how reasonable he seems to be.

    It really is this simple.

I recently switched from a messenger bag to a rucksack. The rucksack is much more comfortable with a heavier load (laptop + towel + shoes + clothes). A lighter load, e.g. towel + clothes only, there’s nothing in it and I marginally prefer the messenger bag.

Genesis Equilibrium, or Aether if you want Alu and cheaper.

Long drop brakes required. Room for mudguards and 25mm tyres(maybe more, but I run 25s)

Lots of talk on Sky of Cook going for Gooch’s 333.

I’d like to see England start going at it reckless now to shove some quick runs on, then put India in again. Longer they have to bat the less the chance of them holding on for a draw.
    edit: especially given changeable weather.

(caveat: I know next to nothing about Test cricket)

There are groups of guys hanging around outside what appear to be their own boarded up restaurants and convenience stores in Clapham High Street. I suspect vigilante justice if looters try it on there.

You can either use a full chain device for which you can get some that replace the HT2 spacer. Or you can use just a top chain guide device, like the Superstar, ethirteen XCX or MRP 1x.

Which one will be appropriate for you depends on your gnar level.

people have company cars for getting to work though?

No, they have company cars as a benefit in kind – for which they are taxed, extensively.

Seve got lifetime achievement last year. There will be a tribute but he won’t be overseas sports personality.

IMO Darren Clarke is a shoe in for the main prize unless either Rory wins his 2nd major @ the USPGA, or England win the RWC in which case it will be either Lewis Moody as the captain or whoever is the stand out performer in the team (Ashton, Foden, Wilko… maybe)

Overseas… Cadel Evans? has the advantage of being an aussie and therefore an english speaker (shouldn’t make a difference, but does), everyone understands winning the Tour de France (more so than the Green Jersey anyway), he could be in with a shout.

Edit: Cav may have a chance, the media coverage of his green jersey win has been pretty extensive
