I have been twice and would love to go again. Not just because Doug is a good friend, his business is genuinely top notch.

The Dhabba in the merchant city is good IMO.

In the west end you have Balbirs and Mother India/Mother India Cafe which are great.

Works well. USB socket is handy for charging things and keeping phone powered as it acts as a sat nav. I have a cheap pioneer head unit. It’s ok.

Never been a problem for me. One of my rear seats has not been in for the last three MOT tests.

Try some legwarmers. Ideal for the spring when mornings are cold and afternoons less so.

Commercial vehicle direct were the cheapest for my T5 kombi after trying lots of price comparison sites and most of the day on the phone. Still eyewateringly expensive compared to cars, for example had similar quotes for a 911!

A pro pack from Santa Cruz has one in it. Quite pricey though.

I used the plastic bit out of the middle of a roll of self amalgamating tape which happened to be the right size.

I was in earlier today, service was quick and pleasant. They seemed to struggle with clearing the tables. Burger and chips was OK. Noticed there doesn’t appear to be a proper coffee machine.

BBC Elite on tape didn’t have the Constrictor(iirc) mission which was necessary to attain Elite. Mo military lasers either.

An Aeropress is a great thing, makes better espresso than a Bialetti stove top IMO. Not had much crema out of it yet but still tweaking grind/temperature/pressure. Good for when i’m not at home with my Silvia.

BF3 jets and helicopters aren’t as overpowered as they were on BF2, not seen as much queuing for them as there was on older versions. I enjoy fixing tanks, reviving dead guys and dropping ammo crates. Rocket launchers seem a bit overpowered tbh. If you are lucky enough to find a squad who actually cooperate it is great fun. Maps seem a bit empty on the console, would be so much better with 64 players like on PC.

Not played CODMW3 but was heartily sick of the previous versions.

Downloaded TF2 for the PC but have not played it yet as i will be a total noob and will get pwned.

I’m StiffeeFR on PS3 if anyone wants to add me.

I’m amazed the industry has some of us parting with £100 for a pair of pedals, me included!

Top tip for pin hole wreckers. Drill and tap new holes if you need them!

There’s a reasonable Malaysian Restaurant / Cafe in Glasgow. I forget where.

Asia Style on St georges road. Basic but very good.

Or Rumours Kopitiam on Bath Street, top pick for the malaysian guys i have worked with.

    Both are very reasonably priced.

My favourite bike has old juicys. They are great. Others have current saint, xtr or formula ones.

If you are up in Scotland ever you can have a go of my large.

I’m 6’3″, like short bikes and use a 50mm stem and inline post.

It is no good for long days though.

If i had a rash, headache and stiff neck i would be concerned about meningitis, although the severe meningococcal type would probably have made you very ill some time ago.

Doxycycline can cause raised intracranial pressure, hence potentially headache. Rashes are common with antibiotics.

You need proper assessment by a physician, in person IMO.

I have one and its a fun bike for razzing about on.

Too small for long days, quite heavy. Bearing and shock eyelet bush wear is tiresome and the axles need replaced yearly.

Get a 4x to replace your heckler, in the great tradition of these threads that is what I did and it is great.

I had coil lyriks. I’m 82kg so the RS chart puts me between the standard red and firm blue spring. The red one was far too soft.

Depends where you will be sitting when you use them. I have a kicking back watching films setting and another for right up at the screen playing BF3.

I would want proper genetic counselling from your regional genetics service to help make an informed choice.

I generally ride with my mates, we are of broadly similar pace overall.

To those who don’t ride with people as they worry about being slow, unfit and rubbish. You will progress more riding with folk who are better than you, it is so easy to plateau.

I’ve had a few track pumps.

Old man has a Silca that must be 30 years old now. Still works.

Cheapo Lidl number. Both handles snapped off when pumping and the shaft shot up hitting me on the forehead. Owch!

7 yr old Joe Blow, yellow one. Still works, gave it to my mother.

Wrenchforce thing. Long barrel was good as i’m tall so it seemed more efficient. Was good for tubeless. The valve connectors rubber bit which seals on the valve wore quickly and you can’t replace it. Was going to just get a new head and then a handle snapped off. Didn’t try to remove my eye this time.

SKS Rennkompressor. Solid construction. Good head which is good as new after about 3 years. Gauge has small print and goes up to 300psi so doesn’t tell me much at MTB pressures. Not stable stood up unless you have a foot on it. Could be used for owning purposes. £50 didn’t seem poor value. Fairly short and narrow barrel, i haven’t had much luck with tubeless on this one.

New Joe Blow, cheapest model. Got this to keep in the van. Seems great for £20 but it will be interesting to see how long it lasts rattling around in the back.

I thought about a wee van like a Caddy. Eventually decided i wanted seats in the back and room for a tall chap to kip so got a t5. Its my only vehicle and i quite happily do >20k a year in it. Parking sensors and side windows do make things a bit easier. It stopped feeling like a big unwieldy lump after about a week.

No bike putting in car hassle (3 with wheels on with rear double seat still in), get changed indoors, 6 riders 6 bikes fit with wheels off, other vans let you out at junctions, tailgate to sit under. Its a great thing but the insurance is just stupidly expensive. 3 yrs ncb and poor area don’t help.

Transporters are subject to a massive style tax and when I replace it I will probably try something cheaper like a trafic/primastar/vivaro.

Mate has a 104 caddy and it is easily fast enough.
