Unfortunately the docking computer is not instant if you are a fugitive drug trafficking pirate with swarms of vipers trying to kill you. Ho hum, it wasn’t like this on the BBC B.

That’s quite some premium for a body kit, wheels and stickers.

Get a grip, leave it alone. Put a passive aggressive note on it if you must.

Blown air dryers like a hotronic flash dry are faster than bags of silica gel. Small enough to take on holiday and robust enough to use all the time at home. Mine has had a lot of use this year.

My shoes don’t stink yet either.

Fairly wide but not massively so.

I don’t know what the part is called. However if you put “detachable keyring” into eBay or Google shopping a similar keyring can be had for about a fiver.

The qr only front hubs are easy to identify, the hub body is narrow. Also, an axle change on older rears is very easy.

Loosen brake clamp, use it to push grip offpulling makes them tighter on the bars.

I tried to install movescount onto a nexus 7 and it complained about not being for tablets and wouldn’t work. Annoyingly the ambit3 won’t pair with my Android phone either. Hoping the next Android update fixed this as suunto don’t seem to be doing anything. Currently having to use my ancient laptop.

Neither have great reputations for reliability.

I would get dt240 hubs and rims to suit the intended use. Easy to get parts and hubs well proven.

This works, unscrew the whole connectamajig from poppet cover, screw non connectamajig hose on, bleed, sorted. There is no room for a connectamajig on my meta SX.

Awful looking bike! Massive complexity, terrible track record of snapping and other such failures. Pricey too. I just don’t understand why anyone would want one.

I have an old ct5 with a black pin. It’s great and works really well. I particularly like how it doesn’t let you push the chain pin all the way out. I have a newer ct5 and a ct3 with a chromed pin and the pins are always bending.

I was given a brinzmann workshop chain tool and it is good so far.

You could learn to bleed brakes, and buy and fit the parts, buying tools if necessary for a lot less than £150

I have a mountain morph and the lezyne above. Both are fast, the lezyne is lighter, but very occasionally you can unscrew the presta valve when removing the pump head from the tube.

    Overall I prefer the lezyne.

You don’t need to convert to tubeless to avoid punctures since you have dual ply tyres already.

Lots of good whisky in this thread.

However, how many of us liked any whisky at 18?

Buying tools, learning how to use them, and sending the fork off to tftuned/loco etc is likely to be quicker and cheaper. And more satisfying. And less likely to result in gears that don’t work, mysterious scratches on stanchions, chips on frames and inexplicable delays. And finding new and inventive ways to charge more money.

I have an aeropress, a handspresso, a bialletti stove top pot, a cafetiere, and a Silvia.

The Silvia gets the most use.

As others have said the grinder is very important. I wish I had gone for a stepless grinder rather than a Rocky.

When we pull on grips, they act like a Chinese finger trap and tighten on the bars. Pushing them off is much easier. Try loosening the brake lever clamp, then pull on the lever body to push the grip off.

I had a Cross fountain pen once, it was horrible and scratchy and always stopped working. Tried two different nibs and various inks. Shame, it looked great.

Google maps works fine for me and it’s not that heavy a user of data. You can preload areas for use offline too. The integration with google now is cool, it pings me a message if traffic is bad enough for me to have to leave earlier for work.

Nothing wrong with a standard car tbh. RS Ltd is nice but very rare. 1.6 is just as fun IMO, just not the later UK model with 90hp.

I have a fitbit one. Belt clip or in my pocket works best for me as work don’t let me wear a watch. The screen on the device is worth having.

You can link fitbit and strava to myfitnesspal which is pretty handy for calorie counting.

The sleep monitor is OK but I always forget to press the button when going to bed to switch it on. The device goes in a wrist pouch thing.
