They are incredibly dull to use, maybe someone near you could lend you one, or find a second hand one. You won’t use it once you are better!

Spend your cash on a biking holiday or skills coaching instead, i’m pretty confident it will be more rewarding than a very slightly different frame.

Your saddle cost nearly as much as her bike (at rrp). Not really very fair.

Ride, break, chuck, replace. Its only a bike frame.

A decent pair of cable cutters does a good job.

Hmm, really should drag myself off the sofa and have another look at Pollok. Lovely evening in Glasgow.

I managed to get a qr to move under heavy breaking last week. Luckily it didn’t come out all the way so i still have all my teeth.

Shimano qr, 160mm rotor, p2 forks.

A mate has used one of those on-one smoothies for years and its still fine. He’s a guide so it gets a lot of use.

Make sure the bead is perfectly straight by fitting tyre and tube and leave inflated overnight.

Get some sealant between the tyre bead and rim.

Avoid deformation by not resting the tyre on the ground when trying to inflate.

If you don’t succeed, have a beer and try again later.

    Milton tastes horrible.

Denture tablets are ok if you want a minty taste.

Bicarbonate of soda is what you want.

160mm is too much for a hardtail imo.

Cocoa dissolves much more easily in water than milk, make a paste with a few teaspoons of water then dilute with milk.

    Nesquick is horrid.

The joy of hecklers is you don’t need to do this very often.

Just the lower half of the bike park and the lower xc trails is more than enough for a week.

I’m very tempted and have loads of holidays to use up. Hmmm.

I downloaded it a while back. Now have a nice Python with naval energy unit, military lasers, etc. That took a while, can’t face the long slog to Elite. Never made it past Deadly on the BBC, tape version.

I find the bearings in pro2 front hubs don’t last too well. They are very easy to change bearings so it’s not too much of an issue. The rear hubs are very loud, i’m not a fan.

I have an 5 year old set of merlin wheels, they have been fine. I also have lots of wheels from Wheelcraft. They have all been excellent and only very slightly more expensive. Merlin won’t make you coffee or give you jaffa cakes.

I have both, X0 seemed absurdly overpriced at £80 a mech and £80 for shifters. There is very little difference in performance.

If some one really hurts themselves, a compound fracture for example, you are going to call for mountain rescue and ideally a helicopter. A nice big bandage can be used to cover it up so folks don’t have to look at it while waiting for help. You can make a sling out of it too. Warm clothing and an emergency shelter are good to have.

Polythene survival bag, cut open, foil sheet taped to bag is best. Try getting someone with the above compound fracture into a bag. Tricky.

As crikey says, you cant clean deep wounds properly on the trail, unless you want to carry real drugs, needles, syringes, sutures, dressing packs, instruments, huge quantities of dressings etc.

Get your injured folk to safety and proper help quickly.

A mate has a large 06 enduro and replaced the dhx air with a dhx 5 from tftuned. The bike rides really nicely with the coil shock. If you can sell your dhx air go for it.

Nice wee frames. Fairly steep head angle so not a relaxing bike to ride. Slidey dropouts work well. The paint is pretty tough. Good on tight steep stuff and decent on the jumps. Pricey new. Its hard to get mech hangers and they don’t sel the seatpost shim which eventually wears out. Roox used to make a 31.6 mm 440mm seatpost so you can climb on it seated even if over 6 foot.

Mojo or TFtuned will make you a suitable dhx coil, a mate got his from TF. Give either of them a phone.

I would try avoiding cleaning the brakes with chemicals. If you use expensive car shampoo to clean your bike it has wax in it. Use water or a brush. Get mud on your brakes, drag them a bit, get them hot.

Yes, ebay, a few years back. CRC had one for about 550 new recently. Even reduced that is a lot of money for a wee hardtail.
