Nether Barr is very good if you want self catering with a restaurant near Newton Stewart

Most of my bikes have the same size tyres front and back, the front one always has larger knobs though.

Saggy saddle catching crotch on your shorts is best avoided, apart from that there is little in it.

Some shorts have armour built in.

    Trousers are very warm.

Get a cheap jersey, you will shred it.

Leftover car engine oil at the moment.

Perhaps those who find finish line green makes a horrid mess are applying too much?

I've been twice, basic stuff and dh. Well worth the money.

The first climb is nice (markers 9 – 12) IIrc there is a jump near the end of this section and a step up which need a freshen up, or maybe they are on Granny Green Luv. After the road (marker 17) the bermy bit is pretty good, just stay high and avoid all the debris at the bottom. Lots of people moan about the rocks and the shape of the berms, i quite like them. Next climb is fine, the tricky bit at the end of the climb needs a choke to stop riders going around the rocks. The new section after 18 is really poor. The rock used to surface the trail is too coarse, it slows you down too much, not in a technical or rewarding way, its just hard work. The Edge is fun, i preferred the older second half but it was falling to bits so i can understand why it was changed. Top half of omega man would be better if the jumps were better. Signage to divert onto shredder could be better, i missed it.

Its been about 8 weeks since i last rode there, the descriptions above may be a little vague! No closures at that time.

The Cafe does excellent coffee and the paninis are ace too.

I saw two guys on tall bikes riding up the Bealach Na Ba a few years back.

Arrange to meet people for rides, then when you are feeling worthless and would normally just not go, you will go to avoid leting people down. Exercise is pretty good for mild depression.

Doesn't look to bad to me. Reasonable feedback for years, lots as a seller. Mismatched wheels are common. Mono Mini and long cage mech seems a strange choice.

Having bought a 3 series spoiler and clear lenses is against him i'll admit that much!

testing bikes is OK if you want to ride a medium sized frame.

I've been lucky with most of my frames i have not test ridden, only turkeys were a Soul and a silly carbon roadie i bought when drunk.

Looks like 2 bikes would fit easily in a 968.

I've seen one at GT quite a lot.

04 Enduro expert came with M555s and 04 XT rotors which have a smaller braking surface.

5 years on they are still working perfectly. There is a small amount of fork juddering. No uneven pad wear.

I have used many many brands of pads.

SSC organic are very soft, so give good power and don't last.

SSC sintered seem to be very hard indeed, miserable power, no noticeable wear after a lot of hard use.

Can't say i fancy 39 steps or Matador on a xc race bike, but then i'm not an Elite rider. Spectating would have been fun in a slightly ghoulish way.

Cucumbers. Even when you pull the bloomin' things out your sandwich their horrid taste ruins it.

Goats cheese gives me the boak.

Got to agree with those who won't eat filter feeding molluscs, ewww!

Those dark cycles bash rings bend really really easily. You'd be better off with an old big ring with all the teeth filed off.

    Cyclus press is cheaper.

I just use a knife/screwdriver to get races off.

I was proud of this one.

Rode for about 10 miles on it, wood(!) have done another 30 easily before wearing through.

    As for paying for mudguards,

What a great day. Borrowed a more xc than usual bike, did some training, kept the seat up, wore lycra and a hrm, loved it.

Great flowing course, overtaking (or being overtaken) was all very polite. BBQ was decent, fixed a few folks bikes, only 1 puncture for the trio, came 13th i think.

Its not called the Black. Off Beat DH, graded orange.

Motorway was tables and a step up you can roll and a chute after an avoidable jump. Rolling over the rocks on the 2 drops into the finishing is horrible, its beter to launch off the top.

    Use loctite!

Is it spitting fuel out the exhaust? Might be too rich.

Make very small adjustments to the mixture, too lean is bad,

If my HPI MT2 is refusing to start i take the glowplug out, pull the cord with finger over exhaust until there is fuel in the engine, that usually works.

Long grass always contains rocks or other hard things that will break your car.

Shame they are so noisy, i always worry about annoying people.

That mountain looks weird with no snow on it, many happy memories of blasting down the run where all the scree is.

Are beers in 1850 any less than 10 euros in summer?

Are Maxxis UST or LUST tyres any less likely to get pinched? Slighty thicker sidewalls? A mate likes the UST high rollers but found the LUST very fragile.

Did not have room for the 4x in the car. Was out on it today though.

GW, i’ll always be a mincer. Remember what happened when i tried hucking? 18 psi was user error, big ding through the 729 just like you said would happen. 721 next time.
